The article analyzes the choice from several perspectives. The choice as a moral problem is a choice between good and evil. The choice as a social problem is a choice between individualism and collectivism, between aspiration for career inert and passive adaptation. The choice as an ideological problem is a choice between democracy and totalitarianism. The choice as a religious issue is a choice between faith and doubt, religion and atheism. The choice as a psychoanalytic problem is the acceptance or denial of guilt. The choice as a philosophical problem is a choice between demand of an essence or give satisfaction to the elementary and the trivial.

This study examines the problem of the meaning of life and the choice between suffering and pleasure, according to the Biblical book of Ecclesiastes, written by the wisest king that ever lived on Earth, and according to the greatest psychiatrist, founder of the doctrine of Logotherapy, the author of one of the greatest books of our time: Man in Search of Meaning and The Doctor and the Soul – Viktor Frankl. Can we find some similarities in their statements, research, and philosophy? Where is the meaning of human existence: in pleasure or in pain? Why is it important for everyone to find meaning in his/her life? Is this the driving force of humankind forward? Can you live with dignity; what it means, and how to help people that lost the meaning? These are the questions we try to find answers for in this study. The aim is to follow the similarities between the two authors, and to find where modern psychology, logotherapy meet the faith in God.

In the wider sense, the concept of philosophical anthropology covers all views on the nature and essence of man since the remotest antiquity, whereas in its narrower associations it points to a philosophical discipline and a conceptually diverse movement that differentiated itself in the first half of the 20th century, joint together by the intention to define the foundations and spheres of man’s own being. It is considered to have formed upon the philosophical reflections of M. Scheler, H. Plessner, E. Rothacker, etc. Many scholars, however, have failed to recognize the fact that a number of the basic principles developed later on in the different views on man, were, for the first time, already to be found in a complex form and in the highest degree in the philosophy of L. Feuerbach.

The goal of the present article is to analyse some of the main premises for justifying the simulation theory (ST) via the mirror neuron theory. The first task will be to formulate a criterion which will set the analysis’s limits. Here I will refer to this criterion as “Goldman’s criterion” (GC). According to GC, the attribution of mental states requires that they be simulationally represented as mental rather than behavioural states. The second task is to introduce the analysis’s object. The object of the analysis enters the picture as part of the theoretical explanations of Iacoboni’s experiment. According to the experiment’s results, mirror neurons represent intentions, which is taken as evidence in support of ST. However, here I will show that the experiment’s description can be a source of alternative uses for the concept of intention – ones that refer not to states, but rather to behavioural dispositions. If this is the case, then GC can not be fulfilled, because of a conceptual problem.

Since 2008, the Romanian academic world has been enriched by a consistent event focused on thanatology, as Alba Iulia, a Transylvanian city with a medieval citadel, has been the setting of a great international conference, inspired by the great biennial Death, Dying and Disposal Conference that needs no presentation.

Theoretical molecular structures of the ligand and its Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes have been studied using the semi-empirical quantum chemical methods. The experimental IR, electronic and NMR data of the investigated compounds are compared with the computational data. The ESP map and the natural atomic charge of the ligand was calculated to ascertain the reactive sites of the ligand. The experimental data agree well with the computational data.

A theoretical solution advances the potential for photothermal mi¬croscopy of nanostructured composite magnetoelectrics and high-temperature su¬perconductors. Photothermal displacement (PTD) is a sensitive effect employed as a fingerprint of the physical and structural properties of a variety of prospective materials. Thermal-diffusion model is developed for the general case including opaque and also transparent probes. Laser double-heterodyne technique is em¬ployed to improve the resolution of PTD measurement. The excessive noise is eliminated to the level viable to detect structural inhomogeneities and thickness of nanolayers up to 0.1nm. The method is applicable to nanolayers deposited on opaque substrates, as well, transparent substrates with large gradient of refrac¬tive index of the interface. Very good agreement between experimental results and theoretical prediction is achieved. The developed laser scheme is particularly feasible for non-destructive measurements of samples at operational conditions and restricted access.

Isomers of diaminodinitroethylene (DADNE) are subjected to quan¬tum chemical treatment within the realm of density functional theory at the level of B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p). Mono anions and cations of them are also considered (UB3LYP/6-311++G(d,p)). The possibility of cis-trans isomerization is analyzed. Some quantum chemical properties, IR and UV-VIS spectra, some ballistic properties etc. are mentioned.

Novel hydrazone Schiff base viz. 6,6’,8,8’-tetramethyl-4,4’,7,7’- tetrahydro-7,7’-bi-1,2,4,5-tetrazocine-3,3’(2H,2’H)-dithionehas been synthesized from3,4-diacetylhexane-2,5-dione and thiocarbohydrazideandcharacterized. The bicyclichydrazone Schiff basehas been found active against bacteria[S.aureus and K.pneumoniaae] and fungi [A.niger and Trichophytonrubrum]. DNA photo-cleav¬age and antiangiogenic behavior of synthesized hydrazone Schiff base has been studied. Furthermore, the synthesizedhydrazone Schiff basesignificantly inhibited cell proliferation with IC50 value 62.5μg/ml. The flow-cytometry analysis of hy¬drazone Schiff base treated human breast cancer cells showed that apoptosis rate increased with increase in dose. In conclusion present study proposes the develop¬ment of novel therapeutic strategy for MCF-7 cancer cell treatment.

One of the four backbones to analyze time-series in general and forecast time-series for financial markets, particularly, is the Chaos-Theory. The four backbones are: Chaos-theory, Fuzzy logic, Neural networks and Genetic algorithms. Although each method itself is a powerful analytic tool, the present paper suggests to combine them to a hybrid analytic and analysis tool, where all methods interact and result in promising outcomes.

The article structures and systematizes knowledge rationally, which adaptively correlates the managing and self-managing activity of learners. The contemporary requirements for intensification today impose developing learning potential to the highest degree. In line with these requirements, there is a need to offer possibilities for developing the lecture as a basic form of instruction within the University.

Arose in the late sixties of the twentieth century, affirmed through the eighties and especially booming in its last decade, object-oriented programming has established itself as a leading style of programming at the beginning of the new century. While this style of programming has almost no alternative in the mass production of software, its imposition in secondary school educational practice is delayed. The article analyses the reasons for the slow uptake of object-oriented programming in secondary school and presents an approach to change the style of teaching Programming. The approach is illustrated through a suggested solution of an entrance exam task in Informatics at the University of Plovdiv using C#.
