The Polish Version of the Spirituality Index of Well-Being Scale (SIWB): Development and Adaptation of a Measure

The purpose of this study was to adapt the Polish version of the Spirituality Index of Well-Being Scale (SIWB). Our survey included 392 Polish Catholics, mostly women (N = 267). The factor analyses confirmed the two-factor nature of the SIWB. A model including a second-order factor with two first-order factors similar to the original version proposed by Frey and colleagues (2005) obtained satisfactory values of goodness-of-fit indices. The Polish version of the scale showed high internal consistency. Our study also confirmed the validity of the scale. SIWB scores were positively and strongly related to existential well-being, moderately positively related to resilience and spiritual well-being, and positively and weakly related to religious well-being. The SIWB is a tool for measuring spiritual quality of life with good psychometric properties. The tool can be used to diagnose an index of psychological well-being in the general population.

Ефективност на организационните обучения и трудова мотивация на служителите

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between training effectiveness in organizations and work motivation among employees in public and private organizations. The study included 87 participants grouped on the basis of nationality, age, gender, educational level, work experience and field of activity. Two questionnaires were used: one to assess training effectiveness and the other on work motivation, divided into 7 motivational factors - job content, working conditions, career development, pay and benefits, relationship with management, work process and feedback and relationship with colleagues, and intrinsic motivation. The results of the study show that general motivation and its components are related to training effectiveness. Policies are recommended in the organization to enhance work motivation through training and coaching and as this will contribute to work engagement, organizational effectiveness and overall company performance.

The topic of modern society, known for its very serious consequences, the use of alcohol and drugs among young people is also related to the development of the personality, their physical and mental health, problems with legislation and a number of other social problems. According to data obtained at the end of 2022, 18.8% adolescents in the country stated that they had used a narcotic substance at least once in their life; 13.7% noted that they had used some narcotic substance in the last 12 months. The article examines theories of substance use disorders and some behavioral characteristics of adolescent injection drug users. The aim of the research is to look for interrelationships with socio-demographic factors and characteristics related to the abuse and dependence of alcohol and drugs, with a view to improving the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of these adolescents. From the research done among young people who use psychoactive substances, an increase above the norm on the scale of psychopathic deviation is reported. This defines these youth as impulsive, with a low tolerance for monotony and boredom, defiant and hostile, with shallow relationships and emotional reactions of guilt and shame.

Pozaprawne uwarunkowania partycypacji społecznej na poziomie lokalnym w Polsce. Przegląd literatury

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja stanu wiedzy naukowej w zakresie pozaprawnych uwarunkowań partycypacji społecznej na poziomie lokalnym w Polsce oraz sformułowanie rekomendacji do prowadzenia dalszych dociekań naukowych we wskazanym obszarze badawczym. W pracy dokonano systematycznego przeglądu literatury, w oparciu o zasoby wiedzy naukowej, dostępne w wybranych bazach naukowych. Na podstawie kwerendy literatury oraz krytycznej analizy treści publikacji zidentyfikowano stan wiedzy, w tym także jej luki oraz wskazano rekomendacje dotyczące kierunków przyszłych badań nad pozaprawnymi uwarunkowaniami partycypacji społecznej na poziomie lokalnym w Polsce. Wyniki systematycznego przeglądu literatury pozwoliły na sformułowanie wniosków, że stan aktualnej wiedzy wskazuje na cechy społeczno-kulturowe poszczególnych wspólnot lokalnych oraz działania władz lokalnych jako główne, pozaprawne determinanty aktywności społecznej.

Edukacja obronna to cały system dydaktyczno-wychowawczej działalności wszystkich instytucji mających wpływ na kształcenie postaw, umiejętności i zachowań człowieka, czyli szkoły, rodziny, wojska, środków masowego przekazu i organizacji społecznych. Edukacja ma dość duży wpływ na zachowania ludności w wyniku zaistnienia sytuacji kryzysowych. Głównym celem artykułu jest ocena efektów realizacji edukacji obronnej na przykładzie zachowań ludności cywilnej na Ukrainie w trakcie trwania wojny. Analiza ukierunkowana jest na wskazanie zarówno pozytywnych, jak i negatywnych aspektów dotyczących wiedzy i umiejętności ludności cywilnej szczególnie w takich obszarach, jak znajomość sygnałów powiadamiania i alarmowania, liczba i wyposażenie schronów oraz możliwości wsparcia psychologicznego. Koncept spirituality v pedagogice: Přehledová studie

The study provides an overview and systematization of key theoretical approaches to the phenomenon of spirituality since second half of the 20th century and shows their implications for contemporary pedagogical research and discourse. For this purpose, the different approaches are differentiated based on their disciplinary origin. These are approaches rooted in 1) the psychology of religion and spirituality, focusing on the relationship between spirituality and human experience, thought, and behaviour; 2) the philosophy and theory of education, discussing educational goals, forms and methods; and 3) the “science of well-being,” which combines the perspective of subjective experience and standardized indicators of human flourishing. The study highlights the key ideas and concepts of each approach, opening the discussion on the possible direction of pedagogical research in this area.

Self-efficacy učitelů 1. stupně základní školy: zdroje jeho zlepšení

Self-efficacy is an important teachers’ characteristic that reflects how well they persevere when faced with obstacles. In this study we explored the sources which, according to Albert Bandura’s theory, contribute to changes in self-efficacy. Participants were 984 primary school teachers in the Czech Republic. Two research instruments were employed: (a) ZSE, a scale measuring teachers’ use of sources of self-efficacy and (b) OSTES-Cz, a scale measuring teachers’ instructional efficacy and class management efficacy. Teachers evaluated mastery experiences and emotional states to be the strongest efficacy sources, followed by social persuasion and vicarious experiences. Duration of teaching practice appeared to associate with mastery experiences and vicarious experiences, while social persuasion was related to the type of elementary school. In regression analyses, mastery experiences, emotional states and vicarious experiences significantly predicted instructional efficacy. On the other hand, class management efficacy was significantly predicted by mastery experiences and emotional states. Findings are discussed with reference to future research aiming to overcome methodology limitations.

Portfolio jako součást státní závěrečné zkoušky v programu Učitelství pro mateřské školy

The aim of the study is to provide a picture of the involvement of the portfolio in the state final examination in the degree program Pre-primary teacher training at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University. One of the pillars of the study program is the concept of reflective preparatory education, which includes the current form of the state final examination in which students demonstrate their professional competence. The portfolio is a tool that enables the construction of self-knowledge and serves as evidence of professional preparedness in theory and practice. A content analysis of twenty portfolios led to the development of a typology of portfolios. Together with the questionnaire survey, it allowed to understand the role of the portfolio in the state final examination. The results show that the portfolio is perceived as a support in a psychologically challenging situation and its processing affects performance in the state final exam with regard to the ability to link theory with practice. The findings pointed to the necessity of looking for further ways to implement portfolio support activities throughout the study.

Podstawowe regulacje dotyczące prawa oświatowego okresu II Rzeczypospolitej

Okres II Rzeczypospolitej to czas tworzenia się nowego systemu oświaty po okresie zaborów. Polityka oświatowa była koordynowana przez Ministerstwo Wyznań Religijnych i Oświecenia Publicznego a realizowana przez władze państwowe i organy samorządu terytorialnego. Po 1920 r. wprowadzono okręgi szkolne a w 1932 r. przeprowadzona została gruntowna reforma oświatowa. Utworzenie samorządu oświatowego oraz zadania związane z budową i finansowaniem szkół, także kwestie dotyczące szkolnictwa wyższego, gimnazjalnego, seminariów nauczycielskich oraz wychowania przedszkolnego i pozaszkolnego to podstawowe kwestie regulacji ustawowych dotyczących oświaty w Polsce w latach 1918-1939. Mimo trudności udało się zmodyfikować system szkolny, wprowadzić reformę oświatową oraz silny samorząd nauczycielski. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie trudności w zakresie stworzenia jednolitego systemu prawa oświatowego w Polsce w okresie po odzyskaniu niepodległości.

THE POSSIBILITIES AND LIMITATIONS OF PREVENTIVE ACTION AS A FORM OF OPPOSITION TO THE MOST SEVERE FORMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

The prevention of domestic violence, timely and effective protection and support for victims, and multi-sector cooperation have become an important strategic direction of the Republic of Serbia since the adoption of the Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence. The authors put forward a hypothesis according to which the change in strategic direction and the emphasis on prevention contribute to: increasing the trust of citizens in the competent state bodies; better protection of victims; and reducing the number of the most serious cases of domestic violence – those that result in death. Using the statistical method, content analysis, and comparative and formal-legal analysis, the paper analyses the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Court related to domestic violence for the period between 2019 and 2021. The authors determine that: violence against women in partner relationships is the dominant type of domestic violence; that psychological violence is the most prevalent, occurring in 68% of the cases, followed by physical violence in 41% of the cases, and economic and sexual violence; that more than 1/3 of the possible perpetrators are repeat offenders, i.e. persons on whom emergency measures were previously imposed; that the victims do not participate in the adoption of individual protection plans; and that the death of the victim occurs despite the imposed emergency measures and the response of the competent state authorities. For these reasons, the authors emphasise the importance of protection on multiple tracks, and propose a series of measures and actions that should be taken by the competent state authorities.
