THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT FOR THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

Author(s): Mihajlo Rabrenović,Boban KOVAČEVIĆ,Marko JELIĆ / Language(s): English Issue: 1-2/2024

The scope and limitations of contemporary societies that specialise in man and his needs are reflected within the quality and availability of health care, which is one among the essential goals of general health care coverage, which include the Millennium Development Goals of the world organization. In addition to the political will to boost the healthcare system and therefore the development of an acceptable legal and organizational framework, the adoption and amendment of laws and byelaws, large investments in buildings and equipment are continuously needed. In conditions of the perpetual society shortcomings in providing the above material resources, the crisis in terms of the efficiency of the healthcare system is precisely the management of human resources, which should ensure greater efficiency of those specific organizations whose work is within the public interest. It is, in fact, the necessity to boost strategic approaches to the present important activity of public interest.

IMPROVEMENT OF THE QUALITY AND SAFETY OF HEALTHCARE THROUGH THE PROTECTION OF PATIENT RIGHTS

Author(s): Boro Krstić,Jasmina ŠLJIVIĆ,Ljiljana Tomić,Dragan Bataveljić / Language(s): English Issue: 1-2/2024

The quality and safety of provided services are crucial aspects of the success of any institution, including healthcare facilities and the overall healthcare system of a particular country. This work emphasizes the fundamental provisions of healthcare regulations, where standards of quality and safety represent the primary determinants of successful healthcare service delivery. The authors believe that respecting patients' rights constitutes a significant segment in enhancing the quality and safety of healthcare. They argue that the Law on Healthcare of Republika Srpska is largely aligned with the basic principles observed in neighboring countries' healthcare sectors. The study employed a method of analyzing positive legal regulations, along with a comparative approach in comparing legal systems of neighboring countries. The new Law on Healthcare of Republika Srpska has established a nominally greater number of patient rights compared to previous regulations, thereby leading to a more effective and secure healthcare service provided by healthcare institutions and professionals. Additionally, the chapter of the Law on Healthcare of Republika Srpska that regulates patient rights, quality, and safety of healthcare is reasonably harmonized with the positive regulations governing these issues in Serbia and Croatia

Глобализация и съдебна система

Глобализация и съдебна система

Author(s): Mitko Dimitrov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2023

As globalization can be viewed as a new social revolution in modern society, the need arises to respect the right of every human being to live in dignity. It is of paramount importance to formulate a model of values based on the principles of a civilized art of communication in a globalizing society, in which the individual must bear his or her personal responsibility to the future of humanity, and in which force must not replace justice. The judicial system has to be a delicate segment to help people overcome boundaries – external and internal, moral and material – in order to protect ourselves as a society from the negatives of modernity and to preserve the foundations of the constructiveness and vigour of the individual in the pursuit of creation. The judicial system should transform societal rules and create conditions for a world of unity and freedom, shaking up the free market with one goal in mind - to create and carry radical and positive ideas into the future.

APPLICATION OF THE CONCEPT OF FEMINIST FOREIGN POLICY IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: TRENDS AND DEVELOPMENTS

APPLICATION OF THE CONCEPT OF FEMINIST FOREIGN POLICY IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: TRENDS AND DEVELOPMENTS

Author(s): Vesna Poposka,Nenad Taneski / Language(s): English Issue: 46/2024

The new security architecture and ongoing world dynamics does affect women and girls in different ways, as they are struggling with inherited forms and structures of power. That is why some states decided to move towards the concept of Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) ensuring both equal engagement of women in diplomacy, defense and security as well as gender responsive activities in an agenda that is wider than the WPS ( Women, Peace and Security). Those foreign policy activities engage with concepts such as environmental justice, trade and investments, migration etc. The paper aims to examine the origin of the concept and the extent of acceptance and development of the general idea, as well as the understanding beyond the introduction of the concept so far. Although launched a decade ago, the concept breaks through slowly but systematically, and there are states adhering to it on each continent so far. The added transformative value behind the concept and the familiarization of the traditionally masculine sectors with the notion of feminism is challenging, but certainly more than necessary.

DETERMINATION OF DAILY INTAKE OF COPPER AND ZINC THROUGH FOOD BY TWO METHODS

DETERMINATION OF DAILY INTAKE OF COPPER AND ZINC THROUGH FOOD BY TWO METHODS

Author(s): Nadica Todorovska,Ljupcho Shosholovski / Language(s): English Issue: 46/2024

The quantities of the essential elements copper and zinc through food were determined by two methods: 1. examination of 54 food products from the groups in one “consumer basket”, and calculation according to their representation in a meal; and 2. examination of a full-day meal. No difference has been observed in the determined daily intake for copper 1.388 (1.352) mg Cu/day, in relation to the recommended 1.3 mg Cu/day, and an insignificant difference has been observed in relation to a reduced daily intake for zinc 9.496 (10.248) mg Zn/day regarding the recommended 10.0-11.0 mg Zn/day; however, all this was within the limits of the reference data. The results obtained with the two methods for determining the daily intake of the elements of interest thorough food in the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia are equal. Hence, the choice of a method for determining the daily intake could be reduced to the selection of the second method (analysis of duplicate meals from a full-day meal) as a cheaper and faster method in contrast to the first method, which is very detailed, but takes a long time and is incomparably more expensive because it examines each food represented in the recipe for preparing all meals during the examination.

Values, Norms and Social Dynamics

Values, Norms and Social Dynamics

Author(s): Mladen Lazić,Jelena Pešić / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2024

The aim of this paper is to offer a distinct approach to the theoretical conceptualization of values and norms, as well as their relationship to one another. This approach views values as a factor that can hinder the integration of the existing order and potentially contribute to a crisis of its reproduction. The relationship between values and norms is defined as potentially asymmetrical. The concept of normative-value dissonance is derived from this asymmetry, indicating the dynamic character of relations between changes to the dominant system of social reproduction and changes to the order of values and norms. Normative-value dissonance can further be broken down into systemic normative-value dissonance, which occurs when the value and normative order are not harmonized due to changes of the system of social relations as a whole, and intrasystemic, which occurs due to changes in the dominant social order, without changes to the foundations on which it is based.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FACTORS AFFECTING JOB SATISFACTION IN LOGISTIC INDUSTRY

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FACTORS AFFECTING JOB SATISFACTION IN LOGISTIC INDUSTRY

Author(s): Besim Asllani / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2023

Logistics is usually understood as managing supply chain management. The Council of Supply Management Professionals describes Logistics as: „the process of planning, implementing, and controlling procedures for the efficient and effective transportation and storage of goods including services, and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption for the purpose of conforming to customer requirements. This definition includes inbound, outbound, internal, and external movements”. Logistics is a part of value chain of every company, even if the only product created by the organization is information. There is no possibility to provide customer with any product without transportation of the product itself or materials and goods needed to create it. The cost of logistics is embedded in the price of everything we buy. This cost depends on work performance which is partially determined by job engagement and job satisfaction of people employed in logistics. This is one of the reasons why the author decided to study work satisfaction among employees of this particular sector. This paper seeks to outline the main factors affecting job satisfaction in the logistics industry in Kosovo, the importance of these factors as well as the types of and issues surrounding the measurement of job satisfaction.

STARI GRAD ULCINJ I (NE)PRISTUPAČNOST NJEGOVIH ULICA

STARI GRAD ULCINJ I (NE)PRISTUPAČNOST NJEGOVIH ULICA

Author(s): Ivan Vratnica / Language(s): English Issue: 2-3/2023

In contemporary times, ancient towns and their fortifi cations have deviated from their original defensive purposes. Technological advancements rendered the once crucial walls and citadels obsolete, leading to their transformation into historical monuments and tourist destinations. Originally strategically positioned to safeguard inhabitants from potential threats, these fortifi cations, now perched in remote locations, have evolved to embrace an opposite role-to entice tourists by ensuring accessibility. Adhering to modern standards poses a challenge, particularly in maintaining authenticity while meeting present-day requirements. Th is study concentrates on the alleys within the Old Town of Ulcinj/Ulqin (Montenegro) and the pathways leading to the fortress. Th e approaches to the city gates, characterized by steep inclines, prove challenging for various individuals, particularly those with limited mobility. Adhering to current standards necessitates the implementation of a versatile elevator within the fortress, while the narrow, sloped, and irregularly paved stone alleys need adjustments to accommodate pedestrians with reduced mobility and meet daily functional needs. Post recent natural disasters, the alleys have further constricted due to ill-advised expansions of residences, rendering them inconvenient for both everyday activities and tourist visits. Considering historical changes and events, the objective is to analyze the current situation and devise an optimal solution that transforms the once impervious fortress into an easily accessible tourist attraction.

Th e aim of this paper is to present the synergy of culture, tourism and innovations of the 4.0 revolution, in the function of forming modern cultural tourist content that are continuous ambassadors of a space. By applying mapping, analyzing case studies and office research, this paper confirms the advantage of applying 4.0 information solutions and activities in culture, in the function of overcoming external factors, for example the COVID 19 pandemic, which can disrupt tourist movements and thus reduce the effectiveness of cultural tourism as ambassador of a space.
