Modelowanie operacji informacyjnych z wykorzystaniem teorii sterowania refleksyjnego

Author(s): Andrzej Karaś / Language(s): Polish Issue: 24/2021

Modern societies are often referred to as information societies. Thanks to the development of the Internet, virtually every person on the globe can get the information they need. This possibility is both a disadvantage and an advantage. Information is increasingly used as another kind of weapon that can be used to achieve specific goals. However, it has long been used for military and political purposes through disinformation, propaganda and intelligence. The development of technology has only given information conflict a different form. Actions involved in information operations are aimed at exerting influence by the controlling entity on the controlled entity in order to perform an action previously assumed by the controlling entity. The purpose of this type of conflict is not to take over a given territory; they focus on the consciousness of a given society. Hence, it is necessary to consider the ways and possibilities of modelling and simulating strategic situations with incomplete knowledge, which are information operations. One of the approaches to modeling information operations is constituted by the theory of reflexive control, which at the same time describes the techniques of conducting them. The article presents the concept of reflexive control and the model built on its basis.

Improving archival collections’ discoverability, accessibility, and usability through contextual information

Improving archival collections’ discoverability, accessibility, and usability through contextual information

Author(s): Rona Razon / Language(s): English Issue: 36/2018

This paper examines how the new conceptual model Records in Contexts (RiC) by the Expert Group on Archival Description (EGAD) of the International Council on Archives (ICA) could improve access and use of historical or cultural heritage collections through its emphasis on contextualized information. It also shows how contextualized archival descriptions play an important role in virtually or intellectually reuniting physically dispersed but related archival collections, as in the case of the Image Collections and Fieldwork Archives of Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in Washington, D.C., United States, and the Bibliothèque byzantine of Collège de France in Paris, France. While discoverability of information in archives and research institutions has increased since the emergence of finding aids and online databases, the accessibility and usability of archival information are issues that many archivists are still struggling to improve and perfect. Lingering questions among archival professionals include: how much information should be given to each collection; should archivists provide contextual information for enhanced access and use of collection materials; or are minimal descriptions sufficient? To illustrate the advantages of putting records in context, this paper investigates how the physically separated but associated archives of Thomas Whittemore and the Byzantine Institute came together, although they are preserved and described in two different institutions. Through the efforts of restoring Respect des fonds to its original order, echoing RiC’s stress on the principles of Provenance, the aim was to enhance the discovery of information and to focus on the approachability and usefulness of information for better scholarship of primary or archival sources.

Tangible and Personalized Smart Museum Application

Author(s): Rosen Ivanov,Victoria Velkova / Language(s): English Issue: XIII/2023

This paper presents the architecture of a Web app designed to deliver personalized content to museum visitors both indoors and outdoors. The app uses a tangible type of interface to obtain information about the museum's exhibits. For this purpose, each exhibit can be associated with an NFC tag, a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon or a geofence in open-air museums. The service automatically profiles its users based on statistics about the preferred type of exhibits, media formats and time spent viewing each exhibit. Visitors can get the information they want about an exhibit even when the app is not running. Push notifications are used for this purpose. The necessary experiments have been conducted to prove the applicability of the service for real-time delivery of personalized content.

METODOLOGJIA E RISKUT, NJË RISI PËR MIRËMENAXHIMININ E VEPRIMTARISË SË TRUPËS INSPEKTUESE TË DREJTORISË SË PËRGJITHSHME TË ARKIVAVE

Author(s): Endrit Musaj,Ylber Ramaj / Language(s): Albanian Issue: 1-2/2021

The inspection of state institutions to audit the progress of the work with documents is a legal obligation, and an important mechanism which affects the improvement of the archival service in state institutions, as well as the normal functioning of their institutional activity. The activity of state institutions is reflected in the documentation that they create, preserve and administer. In order to achieve the perfection of working with documents, the unification of the process and the improvement of the archival service in state institutions, there should be a monitoring system, established accurately and easily accessible by the inspection body. To achieve this aim, the General Directorate of Archives, in addition to the “e-inspection” system set up by the Central Inspectorate for the management of the inspection activity, has designed a system in the form of an efficient “database” for monitoring the state entities. The implementation of this “database” system with the archival data of state institutions, makes the possibility for designing risk-based inspection programs easily more manageable. The purpose of this methodology is to determine the basic principles of risk assessment, during the selection and planning of inspection entities, by the inspection body of the Directorate of Inspection and Training at the General Directorate of Archives. The risk assessment in the inspection process is a procedure that must be carried out continuously, identifying and assessing entities at risk.

ARKIVA DHE PRAKTIKA E KËRKIMIT NË DISTANCË

Author(s): Ornela KONI / Language(s): Albanian Issue: 1-2/2022

An archive is a collection of documents and records that have been preserved because of their cultural, historical or evidential value. They often include unpublished manuscripts, personal letters, notes, and historical documents. The issue in this paper is archives and the practice of remote search. Archives contain rich collections of unique primary sources, but the methods for finding archival material that can inform our work are very different from the secondary search done in libraries and online. Digital access is one of the greatest challenges of humanity today, so through this paper we aim to address the role of archives and how through the development of technology we can utilize remote search methods. The purpose of this paper is to identify these methods that are used to obtain this information wherever we are, thus continuing with the analysis of how effective their use is.

ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC CONTROL OF SECTIONS MECHANISED UNDERGROUNDS IN THE “BEGIĆI-BIŠTRANI” PIT RMU “KAKANJ

ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC CONTROL OF SECTIONS MECHANISED UNDERGROUNDS IN THE “BEGIĆI-BIŠTRANI” PIT RMU “KAKANJ

Author(s): Kasim Bajramović,Irhad Bajramović,Irfan Bajramović / Language(s): English Issue: 6/2023

The subject of this work are the sections of the mechanized hydraulic substructure, which were installed in the “Begići-Bištrani” pit of the RMU “Kakanj”. The complex of mechanized wide front (KMŠČ) consists of wide-front sections with electronic control equipment: signal control units “SCU-signal control unit” or control units, and they are installed on each section to ensure management and monitoring of other technological functions of the system. The results of the research show us that knowledge of world technology, modern mining techniques and the quality of human resources must give new momentum to underground coal exploitation in terms of mass creativity, which will later be taken over by new technological solutions. Real possibilities in the realization of these development tasks are provided by electro-hydraulic control. The starting point for the use of electro-hydraulic control is a quality database. The traditional approach to the database mainly represents a centralized database for underground exploitation, as a recurrence of centralized computer centers and information systems. In the segment of the construction of electro-hydraulic control sections of the mechanized substructure in the “Begići-Bištrani” pit of the RMU “Kakanj”, it is necessary to perform additional analyzes related to the change in the dynamics of data reading, and the implications of such changes. The implications of the fundamental theorem are, therefore, that informatics includes both people (human intellect) and technology, and that in practice it is an interactive partnership. What people can do with information resources depends primarily on what they know about the task at hand. This work aims to show how electro-hydraulic control of sections of mechanized substructure, automation and information technology can improve safety in mines, improve measures and actions to prevent injuries at work, occupational diseases, other diseases related to work and protection of the working environment.

Uloga biblioteka u inicijativama otvorenih obrazovnih sadržaja na visokoškolskim institucijama

Author(s): Lejla Hajdarpašić,Senada Dizdar,Džejla Khattab / Language(s): Bosnian Issue: 1/2023

Open educational resources are a significant and justified subject of interest of academic libraries, especially after the emergence of the global pandemic COVID-19, which caused numerous changes in the higher education system, to which academic libraries had to adapt, in order to continue providing the necessary and significant support to scientific research and education process at higher education institutions. In this regard, the goal of this research is to determine the extent to which academic libraries of the University of Sarajevo provide services related to open educational resources, and to determine which, according to librarians, are the advantages of introducing such services and how they can be further improved in a post-pandemic environment. The results of the research indicate that the surveyed libraries offer certain services related to open educational resources, but also that librarians encounter certain obstacles in the introduction of such forms of services, where the safe and long-term storage of open educational resources and the lack of recognition of the important role of higher education librarians in open educational resources initiatives stand out.

Mit założycielski państwa polskiego jako mem w kontekście miejsc pamięci w przestrzeni internetowej

Author(s): Anna Ratke-Majewska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2023

The primary purpose of this article was to initiate an analysis of the founding myths of the Polish state – their existence and reproduction in the community – in the context of both memetics theory and virtual sites of memory. The research fi eld, broadly outlined by theoretical considerations, was signifi cantly limited in the presented text. Thus, only selected accounts on the Facebook social network were analyzed (within the specifi ed time range) – on the one hand, those representing public institutions dealing with commemoration, and on the other, those private ones, for which one of the purposes is to conduct narratives of memory.
