Summary/Abstract: An archive is a collection of documents and records that have been preserved because of their cultural, historical or evidential value. They often include unpublished manuscripts, personal letters, notes, and historical documents. The issue in this paper is archives and the practice of remote search. Archives contain rich collections of unique primary sources, but the methods for finding archival material that can inform our work are very different from the secondary search done in libraries and online. Digital access is one of the greatest challenges of humanity today, so through this paper we aim to address the role of archives and how through the development of technology we can utilize remote search methods. The purpose of this paper is to identify these methods that are used to obtain this information wherever we are, thus continuing with the analysis of how effective their use is.
