In this paper key phrases in the field of neural networks are examined in terms of usage in recent scientific publications. For the purpose of the research several on-line academic databases are explored: Science Direct, Scopus, Google Scholar, Springer Link and others. The examined period is from year 2000 to present with focus on last decade. The terms are examined in two main directions: used paradigms and aspects of neural computing. Calculations determining the change rate of the usage of concepts and also calculations concerning the changes in their respective share in the papers on the topic are made. The data is used to draw some conclusions about the state-of-the-art of the field.

The subject of analysis were articles from Polish journals on library and information science, published between 1956 and 2006. The author indicates the main lines of research and demonstrates the impact of foreign literature on the Polish works through the analysis of foreign bibliographic citations. The analysis of the formal and material characteristics of the cited documents allows to show relations between the native and foreign scientific literature, with emphasis on revealing how research topics and academic disciplines are interwoven.

The development of the Polish bibliological biography is best evidenced by the number of biographical directories and collective biographies of book people. In the analysis of publications from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the emphasis was placed on the involvement of cultural and scientific institutions in the creation of those publications. In the article, the author presents the contributions of particular institutions to the development of bibliological biographies. In particular, the following institutions are involved in this process: the Słownik pracowników książki polskiej Laboratory by the Chair of Library and Information Science at the University of Lodz; the Old Polish Bibliography Laboratory at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences; Polish Librarians’ Association; Wroclaw Librarians’ Corporation; Kujawy and Pomerania Cultural Society; Lublin Society of Book Lovers; and numerous libraries. The aforementioned institutions were presented against the background of biographical directories which they helped create.

There are numerous, often mutually exclusive, stands in biocentrism. One of breakdown criteria is the scope of classes of natural objects, which has to be assigned an autonomic (internal) value extending beyond instrumental values which they have for others. In accordance with the traditional anthropocentric paradigm, only human beings have autonomic value so only they are entitled to moral status since only they have characteristics which condition it, such as freedom, responsibility, mindfulness. Biocentric stands, on the other hand, assign responsibility to everything which is alive. Therefore, the supporters of biocentrism believe that all living being deserve a social status. The majority of them is differentiated by their moral value, which degrades them, depending on the organizational level.

The article discusses the six basic types of handwritten notes found in six ephemeras (multiannual calendars) from the 16th century, preserved at the University Library in Poznań: provenance notes, extracts and recipes, marginalia, annalistic notes, as well as personal registers, diary notes and drawings. The owners of the manuscripts, as well as the authors of the marginalia were Jan Żdżarowski, Kasper Goski, Adam Paulini of Pobiedziska, an unidentified Jesuit priest, and at least two other inhabitants of 16th-century Poznań, including most likely a doctor. All the authors and original owners of the ephemeras (predominantly clergy or doctors) were connected with Poznań and belonged to the city elites of that time. In the description of the marginalia and other pieces of textual evidence of the calendars’ use, the author notes that some of them can help with identification of calendars and diaries lacking any marks of provenance.

The aim of the paper is to characterize some old and new media children-addressed publications which can be seen as a kind of the playable literature in the context of the modern culture: the culture of participation, the culture of convergence, the culture after the performative, visual and material turn. Some particular examples’ analysis are made to: 1. show in what ways the young reader is involved in playing the literature (the reading-playing), 2. capture some strategies used by authors who create the playable children books and 3. focus on the question whether described way of the literary creation facilitate literary immersion or makes it more difficult. The important role of the reader’s gestures and decisions made by is strongly pointed out.

Kolejną część publikacji tworzą wypowiedzi o tematyce kulturoznawczej, poruszające problematykę: dobrych obyczajów uniwersyteckich, zwyczajów językowych, tradycji współtworzących tożsamość narodową, etyki.
