The German newspaper Ilicustrierte Zeitung was first published in Leipzig on July 1, 1843 and continued to broadcast until September 1944. During World War I, the war journal was published as "Kriegszeitschrift". The number of May 18, 1916, which corresponds to the middle of World War I, is divided into Ottoman-Germany relations. "Die Türkei und Deutschland (Germany and Turkey)", published under the title 19, article. In these articles, the Ottoman-Prussian / German relations, the cultural activities of the powerful European countries in the Ottoman Empire, the important personalities of the Ottomans, the family life of the Turks and the characteristics of their social character were given; Turkish-German association was established to develop art, literature, architecture, agriculture, economic facilities, iron and sea routes, trade and cooperation between the two countries.

Inštitut za zgodovino delavskega gibanja v Ljubljani je pred desetimi leti začel načrtno izdajati dokumente organizacij in ustanov narodnoosvobodilnega gibanja na Slovenskem, in sicer v ediciji Dokumenti ljudske revolucije v Sloveniji 1941—1945. Piva knjiga vsebuje dokumente od marca 1941 do marca 1942, Med-njimi je tudi nekaj pisem vodstev narodnoosvobodilnega gibanja Jugoslavije in Slovenije oziroma njenih članov. Ko je uredniški odbor izbiral dokumente, da jih objavi v tej knjigi, še ni imel.na voljo pisma člana politbiroja CK KPJ in vrhovnega štaba narcdnoosivobodilnih partizanskih odredov Jugoslavije Edvarda Kardelja z dne 17. oktobra 1941: Izvirnik tega pisma je italijanska policija našla pri organizacijskem sekretarju KPS Tonetu Tomšiču, ko ga je v zgodnjih jutranjih urah 10. Decembra 1941 prijela na njegovem stanovanju v Aljaževi ulici 6 v Ljubljani. V gradivu sodnega procesa prdti Tonetu Tomšiču in soobtoženim, ki je bil 15. in 16. maja 1942 pred vojaškim sodiščem italijanske II. armade v Ljubljani, je med dokaznim gradivom obtožnice tudi kratek povzetek tega Kardeljevega pisma, in sicer v italijanskem jeziku. Kje je izvirnik, še ni znano; verjetno ga je vojaško sodišče italijanske II armade v Ljubljani poslalo ustreznemu (sodnemu) oddelku pri generalnem štabu (SMRE) ali vrhoivnem vojaškem poveljstvu (Comando Supremmo) italijanske vojske v Rimu. Po nekaterih podatkih naj bi to gradivo še pred nekaj leti hranil National Archives Washington, ki hrani velike količine arhivskega gradiva italijanske vojske. [...]

Sredinom 20. veka Slobodan Jovanović bio je jedna od najupućenijih ličnosti koja je mogla da iznese sopstveno viđenje jugoslovenskog iskustva srpskog naroda. U njegovoj biografiji bilo je dovoljno elemenata koji su ukazivali na kompetentnost u ovom problemu: profesor i rektor Beogradskog univerziteta, član i predsednik Srpske kraljevske akademije, šef Ratnog presbiroa srpske vojske u oslobodilačkim ratovima (1912-1918), predstavnik države na Mirovnoj konferenciji u Parizu, predsednik vladine komisije za izradu nacrta prvog jugoslovenskog ustava, predsednik Srpskog kultumog kluba, potpredsednik jugoslovenske vlade u izbeglištvu. Bibliografija njegovih radova iz pravne i političke istorije Srbije dostizala je obim bibliografije neke naučne ustanove.

Srpski nacionalni program je tema koju je istorija ponovo postavila, u poslednjoj deceniji 20. veka, u najžešćem mogućem vidu. Trenutak ponovnog izlaska tog pitanja na političku scenu istovremen je sa činom razbijanja SFR Jugoslavije. Nikako se ne radi o slučajnoj vremenskoj podudarnosti, već o tome da se nestankom Jugoslavije prirodno postavilo pitanje srpske države. Izlaskom na političku pozornicu to pitanje je postalo eminentno političko pitanje i tako je tretirano u javnosti, u medijima, od političara raznih ideoloških nazora, od ogromnog broja Srba koji čitaju novine, gledaju televiziju, misle i pričaju o političk Srbi (moglo bi se reći: većina, velika većina) oduvek su (od 1918) mislili da su u jugoslovenskoj državi, bila ona monarhija ili republika, našli model „svoje” države. Za nju su vodili dva velika rata; braneći je navukli su na sebe mržnju nekih jugoslovenskih naroda, došli u sukob sa velikim zapadnoevropskim državama i supersilom Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama.

Most Schulz experts assume that while working on The Booke of Idolatry, he did not start writing fiction yet. It has been generally believed that his literary talent surfaced rather late, although Jerzy Ficowski thought that Schulz might have tried writing some time earlier. In the critic’s opinion, the beginning of Schulz’s literary talent dated back to his correspondence with close friends in 1925–1926, but since all letters from that period have been lost there is no way to validate that claim. Jerzy Jarzębski supposes that Schulz’s fiction came into being rapidly, at once fully mature and perfect. Władysław Panas also points at Schulz’s magisterial literary debut, The Cinnamon Shops, when the author was already about forty years old. And yet, the present essay puts those hypotheses to test. Having searched the holdings of the Vasyl Stefanyk National Academic Library in Lviv, Ms. Khomych has demonstrated that Schulz made his debut in the early 1920s almost simultaneously in two fields: in art, with a one man show in the town of Boryslaw in 1921, which has been commonly known, and in literature in 1922. Ms Khomych discovered in the 25–26 no. (January 15, 1922) of the bi-weekly Świt, sponsored by the oil officials of Boryslaw, a short story titled “Undula,” signed with a penname “Marceli Weron.” A critical analysis of this story demonstrates a number of affinities both with Schulz’s art, and with his later fiction. The name of the title character, Undula, is the same as that of the main figure of the graphic works included in The Booke of Idolatry. Other similarities include masochistic eroticism and some characters and motifs typical of Schulz’s later stories: a child, a dream, a chambermaid named Adela, the Demiurge, a crab, and a cockroach. Moreover, the stylistic and lexical features of the text leave no doubt that Schulz must have been its author. Imitation by anyone is impossible since in the early 1920s none of his other literary works was available in print. Thus, one may assume that “Marceli Weron” was Schulz’s penname and “Undula” was his proper literary debut.

Ujawnia ona często istotne okoliczności, a także motywacje i inspiracje badaczy, których próżno by szukać w ich pracach naukowych. Listy etnografów ukazują ponadto ważność badań terenowych jako doświadczenia i źródła twórczości naukowej, a także znaczenie osobistych kontaktów badaczy jako czynnika rozwoju nauki. Prezentujemy tutaj zbiór listów młodej adeptki antropologii, zainteresowanej Syberią, do doświadczonego badacza terenowego.

The article discusses a collection of family notes written in the Tatar circle of the Baranowski family in Lithuania regarding family and religious events from 1857 to 1867, and the practice of reading Surah 36 Yasin of the Quran on behalf of the dead relatives. These documents supplement the picture of Tatar religiosity to the extent that manuscripts do not record, they allow to establish some facts about the construction and operation of the Lukiškės mosque in Vilnius, and above all, bring unknown information about three generations of the Baranowski family and members of several other families important to the history of Tatars in Lithuania.

This paper focuses on the relationship between the compilation of a herbarium in early modern history and the search for a classification of nature. By looking at the histories of different herbaria and their compilers, this paper shows how the nature of ordering botanical materials changes along with the search for a system of ordering plant knowledge.

Der Jurist D Friedrich Walbaum (geboren am 1. März 1864 in Kronstadt, gestorben am 9. August 1931 in Hermannstadt) war zunächst Komitatsobernotär, dann zwischen 1897 und 1910 Bürgermeister von Schäßburg und Bezirkskirchenkurator. Ab 1899 war er Mitglied des Landeskonsistoriums der Evangelischen Kirchen A. B. in Siebenbürgen. 1910 wurde er von der ungarischen Regierung zum hauptamtlichen Obergespan und Sachsencomes des Komitates Hermannstadt ernannt. Diese Funktion bekleidete Walbaum bis 1918, behielt aber den Ehrentitel Sachsencomes bis zu seinem Tode. 1916 wählte ihn die 26. Landeskirchenversammlung zum Landeskirchenkurator der Evangelischen Kirche A. B. in Siebenbürgen, eine Funktion, die er bis zu seinem Tod innehatte. In dieser Eigenschaft arbeitete Walbaum den Entwurf der neuen Kirchenverfassung von 1920 aus, die von der 28. Landeskirchenversammlung mit geringfügigen Änderungen angenommen wurde. Für diese Leistung verlieh ihm die Universität Leipzig den theologischen Ehrendoktor „D“.
