The situation is assessed in the context of the migrant wave. There are also various hypothesis about the readiness of the institutions to find a way to integrate the migrants into the culture of the host society. There are models offered that are used in the practice of libraries in some countries, such as Canada, the Netherlands, etc. These countries face less problems with the psychological and civil adaptation of people arriving from other areas. Libraries are used very actively at the base of these approaches. They are not only places for transmitting cultural patterns, but are also community centers where people are active in many matters of social importance – health, national security, mental illness, education, child development and development through age, bibliotherapy and others. These isuues are poorly represented in Bulgaria, as opposed to other advanced countries where library organization is harnessed very actively in solving such cases; it aims to “calm the public health” of the people who live in the society or want to be accepted and to be adapted in it. The report also addresses the position of the EU (the European Parliament) on the role of libraries with respect to migrants and the positive role that libraries are able to play in the adaptation process of migrants into society.

Microwave ovens can potentially emit electromagnetic fields (EMF) at levels affecting the safety and health of people employed in catering and authorized service centres. The levels of EMF in the vicinity of over 170 devices, presented in this article, indicate that appropriate protective measures are necessary. Current regulations on emission limits, which manufacturers of microwave ovens should comply with, are based on ICNIRP recommendations and meet human exposure limits for EMF. The regulations in Poland are more restrictive. This article discusses all those aspects, particularly in relation to staff in catering and in service centres, where there is no effective supervision of the working conditions. In Poland, 3.6 million people work in the trade sector, that is 26% of the total employment. Nearly two thirds of them are women. This sector also offers many jobs for young people who are entering the labour market, and for people with lower qualifications. A sales assistant is a service occupation, in which work load depends on the range of goods sold, duties, working conditions, and the size of the store. In large stores, tasks are divided between employees. In smaller ones, one worker must be able to perform all or most activities. Typical for sales assistants types of workload, such as manual materials handling, forced posture, repetitive motions and accompanying stress, cause many health problems, especially those of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and nervous systems.
