Unprecedented in recent years, international activity of Russia should become an area of more detailed analysis. Conclusion, possible to determine at the beginning of 2016, situate Russia in the ascending phase of the sine wave recovery or strengthening of superpower’s status. The need for diagnosis of the state of the process requires an identification of the contemporary superpower position, as well as carrying out simulation prolongation of that sinusoid. It also requires imposing a change taking place in the identical processes of other important players in the international system. The literature is rich in a various scenarios for the possible future’s shape of the international situation, which are synthetically presented, recognizing the components that can make any scenario more realistic than others. Not since today, it is known that war is a business that brings unimaginable profits, which is well recognized by equipment manufacturers and mercenaries. The concept of mercenary is nothing new to the world, you can even be tempted to say that the profession of mercenary can compete with other oldest professions for the title of “world’s oldest profession”. Modern hireling, to a large extent, differs from that in antiquity and later periods. Clientele of this type of services increased and the tasks carried by mercenaries changed. Unfortunately, often Private Military Companies (PMC) are being used for nefarious purposes.

The reaction against domestic violence, and above all, violence against children at the national level, is reflected in the prevention, detection of individual cases of violence, providing immediate legal protection and an active role of the institutions of the system of education, healthcare, social welfare and judiciary. The first part of the paper is aimed at the legal system’s functioning that is reflected in the implementation of measures in each specific case where protection of children as victims of violence is necessary. The second part of the paper is devoted to international legal cooperation of states within the framework of various international organisations with a view of defining domestic violence as a violation of basic human rights to life and health. Starting from the universal nature of the problem of domestic violence in contemporary society, internationally adopted documents are binding on member states to undertake legal reforms, a series of protective measures, educational programmes and other forms of protection from violent behaviour. The weight and the volume of domestic violence have also made it the topic of private international legal regulations that have not so far observed the frequency and complexity of the issues in this domain.

Structural and dynamic substance of society is, unfortunately, also made up of various forms of crime. The most severe form of crime is, certainly, genocide. The history of human society and its contemporary existence undoubtedly indicate that genocide is, not only a product of society, as a social fact, but at the same time represents an inseparable part of social existence as a socio-historical phenomenon sui generis. The question of extent to which science, primarily sociology, managed or manages to scientifically explore and explain all aspects of this social phenomenon, such as: causes, types, phases, forms, characterology, “technology“ is justified, and all with the aim to prevent genocide as a crime that in its essence surpasses just killing people as individual beings. The author attempts to analyze the basic world-historical and Bosnian-Bosniak examples of genocide and highlight the fact that genocide is social phenomenon of total human history, and a very significant scientific phenomenon whose scientific discipline and institutional actualization, notably through educational system, consititute a very important factor of prevention of genocide as the most viscious crime.

However, it is obvious that the actual crime rate can never be accurately measured.Inexact measuring methods need to be used or crime could be left unmeasured. This article examines the possibilities of complex use of recorded crime and victimisation survey data in order to better assess crime rate differences over time and space within the same country. The article explores the main aspects and problems of comparison of recorded crime and crime victim survey data, provides new models of recorded crime and crime victim survey data integration, compares these models with each other, presents findings on the most suitable model for assessing crime rate and applies this model in practice. A new indicator of crime rate (RAS) is developed based on integration of recorded crime and victim survey data, suitable for assessing crime rate differences over time and space within the same country.

The intention of this paper is to investigate exactly these issues. The basic hypothesis is that the US use of drones in war against terrorism is a major threat to international security, human rights and democracy. Instead of reducing the threat of terrorism, drones uses additionally incites hatred and desire for revenge, since it leaves severe adverse consequences on the lives of civilians. The expected contribution of this paper lies in the demystification of drones activities and questioning the many dangers that the use of drones in the fight against terrorism carries.

The study aimed to establish the relationship between ruminations and the occurrence of negative (posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms) and positive (posttraumatic growth) effects of trauma resulting from the experience of violence in the family. The data of 89 women who have experienced domestic violence were analyzed. The participants’ age ranged from 18 to 60 years (M = 34.36, SD = 12.81). The following Polish versions of standardized tools were used: the Impact of Event Scale, the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory, and the Event-Related Rumination Inventory, the last of these measuring two types of ruminations: intrusive and deliberate. Both types of ruminations proved to be associated, above all, with posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms. Weaker associations were noted between the intensity of deliberate ruminations and posttraumatic growth. Intrusive ruminations played a predictive role with regard to posttraumatic stress disorder: above all, with regard to intrusion and arousal; deliberate ruminations proved to be a predictor of posttraumatic growth, mainly positive changes in self-perception and relations with others. Ruminations play an essential role in the occurrence of both negative and positive outcomes of the experienced trauma.
