Repere privind psihologia socială a culpabilizării şi reconcilierii intergrupuri

Author(s): Natalia Cojocaru / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 50/2022

Based on the results of recent studies, in this article we will examine the implications of collective emotions against some negative events in the ingroup’s history amid intergroup reconciliation efforts. In order to review the existing literature on this subject, we intend to answer some questions: How are the collective negative emotions assumed and shared and what implications have on intergroup relations? How does a traumatic experience persist from the ingroup’s history for the next generations? What are the effects of social recognition on intergroup reconciliation? Various studies show that the postwar generations experience guilt more intensely than the generation directly involved in some historical events. Thus, the mere membership of a particular group determines emotional reactions to a conflictual event, even if consumed. On the other hand, when the ingroup’s victimization persists, the collective guilt to present illegalities of their own group can decrease. Ultimately, we find that intergroup reconciliation is the result of a process that should involve equally the both groups and require concessions on both sides .

O incursiune în substratul etiologic al didactogeniei. Stilul educaţional respingător

Author(s): Mihai Şleahtiţchi / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 50/2022

By the way it presents itself, the repulsive educational style brings indisputable prejudices to the teaching‑learning process, strongly affecting the entire construction of this process, especially the segment that covers the relationship between the teacher and the students. Having the ability to impose itself differently – as something reminiscent of an authoritarian or nomothetic behavioral, distant or impulsive, ultra‑reactive or strict, oscillating or detached – the educational style in question is characterized by the fact that it contradicts the rights and duties incumbent on the position of a teacher. In his presence, the school environment collapses, ceasing to present a “suitable environment in which essential connections can be created for the multilateral and harmonious development of the student” or a “space in which the professional competence of the teacher is complementary to the developmental particularities of the student”. Moreover, through the conflicting energies he releases, he distorts the meaning of the teaching profession, obviously contributing to the establishment of didactogeny. Or, as it has been mentioned more than once, in various specialty sources, if the educational style does not resonate with the rights and duties of the pedagogical profession, the didactogeny is predetermined, simply, to become a reality, a state in fact, which must be associated with the big mistakes in the area of the teaching‑learning processor, in other words, with the big deviations from what the professional deontology of the teacher means.

Agresivitatea instrumentală în mediul penitenciar. O analiză sistematică a literaturii de specialitate

Author(s): Andreea‑Mădălina Aiftincăi,Ticu Constantin / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 52/2023

The present study aimed to identify factors associated with instrumental aggression in inmates (causes, effects, correlational associations). Any type study written in English, that included measures of instrumental aggression exhibited by male inmates aged 18 years or older was included. The systematic review was conducted at the following databases: ELSEVIER ScienceDirect, Emerald, ProQuest, SAGE, SCOPUS, SPRINGER LINK and Web of Science, with no time limits set. Initially, 443 studies were identified and screened. In accordance with the PRISMA P guidelines (Shamseer et al., 2015), 15 studies were selected for inclusion in the analysis, of which 12 showed predominantly positive, significant associations between instrumental aggression and dimensions of psychopathy. At the same time, significant associations were found between proactive aggression and impulsivity, but there were conflicting results regarding the meaning of this relationship. Four studies reported positive correlations, while one study showed a negative association between these dimensions. Occasionally, instrumental aggression has also been studied in relation to the negative psychological effects that can occur during detention, such as symptoms of anxiety and depression, negative affect and general ill health, with results showing positive associations.

Efectul consensului fals sau percepţia în oglindă

Author(s): Septimiu Chelcea / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 52/2023

The research aimed to examine the role of job crafting in job satisfaction, work-related flow, life satisfaction and flourishing. A total of 275 employees (of whom 64.4% were women), aged 20 to 53 (Mage = 32.13 (7.21)), participated in the research. The results showed a determination of absorption, work enjoyment, intrinsic motivation and job satisfaction with certain job crafting dimensions, while some dimensions of job crafting also predicted flourishing and life satisfaction of employees. The increase in structural job resources proved to be a positive determinant of all observed indicators of job and general well-being. Also, an increase in challenging job demands positively predicted all three dimensions of work-related flow. A decrease in hindering job demands negatively predicted, while an increase in social job resources positively predicted job satisfaction and work enjoyment and intrinsic motivation.

LES ÉLOGES PARADOXAUX DE LA GOUTTE: RIRE, À DÉFAUT DE GUÉRIR ?

Author(s): Nicolas CORREARD / Language(s): French Issue: 35/2023

Gout, a joint pathology from which many humanists suffered, constitutes a privileged subject of the epideictic rhetoric of paradoxical praise. We consider the corpus in its entirety, from the formation of recurring topics in this exercise to the numerous imitations of Pirckheimer’s Podagræ laus (1522). We can praise this illness because it spares the mind and pushes it to detach itself from the body, because it encourages a moderate use of pleasures, or even because its ills are relative compared to others. The arguments can be serious and the tone sermonary. However, it is indeed a matter of joking: the paradoxical humor entertains, even if it does not heal, and the satire which insinuates itself into the eulogy allows us to poke fun at the moral inclinations of the dedicatees, to denounce false goods, or to dispel the illusion of medical knowledge. Laughter constitutes a sharp instrument of lucidity, a salty and spicy condiment for the bread of daily pain.

Author(s): Katarina Perić Pavišić,Ivana Bendra,Dražen Živić / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 1/2024

The period of the Homeland War has left many short-term and long-term consequences on Croatian society and individuals, especially on children as the most vulnerable group. Examining previous research has revealed a lack of those that provide a deeper insight into the growing up of the children of Croatian veterans through their personal experiences of growing up in exile, relationships within the family, and with peers. Therefore, this qualitative research examined the different experiences of growing up of the children of Croatian veterans from the Vukovar-Srijem County concerning their relations within their families and with their surroundings in the war and postwar period. Data were collected by conducting 30 semi-structured interviews and analyzed by thematic analysis. The results of the analysis and interpretation of the data showed a total of 4 thematic units with 12 corresponding categories. In addition to providing a more comprehensive insight into the experiences of growing up and the psychosocial development of children of Croatian veterans, the results of this research can help create possible interventions for working with children of Croatian veterans and their families. The conducted research also gives a broader sociological insight into the impact of a crisis (war and post-war) on specific social groups, especially those exposed to direct war events and the attitude of the entire society towards them.

Author(s): Abdullah ADAL / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 62/2024

This study focuses on a research examining the relationships between the level of organizational intelligence in schools and teacher satisfaction and student achievement. Teachers' perceptions of organizational intelligence in the schools where they work and the effects of these perceptions on teacher satisfaction and student achievement were evaluated. According to the results of the study, teachers generally evaluated the level of organizational intelligence of the schools where they served as high. When teachers' perception of organizational intelligence was evaluated on the multidimensional organizational intelligence scale, a high average value was obtained. This shows that teachers attach importance to the ability of their schools to adapt quickly to changes, increase learning capacity, innovation and flexibility. In addition, there is a positive relationship between teachers' perception of organizational intelligence and teacher satisfaction. As can be understood, teachers' high evaluation of the level of organizational intelligence in their schools generally increases their level of satisfaction. When the relationship between student achievement and organizational intelligence is examined, it is seen that schools with high organizational intelligence generally contribute positively to student achievement. Good organizational intelligence can increase student-teacher interaction, manage educational resources more effectively, and provide students with a variety of learning opportunities. In conclusion, this study suggests that the level of organizational intelligence in schools can play an important role in teacher satisfaction and student achievement. In order to increase the level of organizational intelligence in schools, it is recommended to take strategic steps such as strengthening communication, providing professional development opportunities, and encouraging innovation. Implementation of these steps can increase the overall achievement level of schools and teacher satisfaction.

DJELOVANJE SPREMNOSTI OPRAŠTANJA DRUGIMA NA MENTALNO ZDRAVLJE

Author(s): Almira Isić-Imamović / Language(s): Bosnian Issue: 96/2023

Forgiveness as a phenomenon is a subject of the research work of many psychologists for the past thirty years. It is a very complex phenomenon that affects cognitive, behavioural, conative, and interpersonal components. There is a large number of theories of forgiveness, however, one of those theories states that forgiveness is a pro-social change in thoughts, feelings, and behaviour of the offended towards the offender. Psychologists analysed and found numerous psychological determinants of forgiveness and, established that forgiveness has a positive effect on one’s mental health. Furthermore, they explain that it reduces anxiety, and depression alleviates the symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder, and helps build positive self-esteem and hope thus improving the overall quality of life. These results have encouraged psychologists to create therapy models and techniques that are based on teaching patients how to forgive.

THE IMPACT OF LEADER POWER ON ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT: A STRATEGIC APPROACH TO DECISION-MAKING

Author(s): Sry ROSITA,Feny TIALONAWARMI,Syahmardi YACOB / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2023

Leaders play a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of work programs and facilitating accomplishing of organizational goals. This study investigates the intricate relationship between leader power, decision-making, and organizational development. Drawing upon a quantitative approach, a structured questionnaire was administered to 386 civil servants to collect data. The empirical analysis employed the Smart-Partial Least Square (SmartPLS) software to examine the structural equation model. The findings substantiate the proposed model, revealing that decision-making partially mediates the association between leader power and organizational development. Interestingly, the direct effects of leader power and decision-making on organizational development are found to be more significant. These results underscore the paramount significance of effective decision-making and shed light on the nuanced interplay between leader power, the decisionmaking process, and organizational development.

Exploring the Intersections of Artificial Intelligence, Organizational Behavior, and Communication Dynamics in the Modern Workplace

Author(s): Ioseb Gabelaia,Ramunė Bagočiūnaitė,Viktorija Navickienė / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2024

Purpose: While organisations struggle to improve efficiency and productivity, the interaction between AI, organisational behaviour, and communication dynamics tends to be complex in the rapidly evolving modern workplace. Moreover, understanding the implications of this intersection is necessary to encourage a balanced and effective workplace. Hence, employing AI technologies in organisational structures introduces challenges such as workforce adaptation, psychological impact, and communication patterns. This research explored how AI influences organisational behaviour and communication dynamics in the modern workplace. Study design/methodology/approach: This study used a mixed method to explore organisational behaviour and communication dynamics across diverse industries comprehensively. This questionnaire aimed to gather respondents’ experiences, focusing on organisational behaviour and communication dynamics. Furthermore, indepth interviews were conducted with key stakeholders (n = 13) to obtain additional insights into goodness and trustworthiness. These interviews offered more depth and richness, providing insights into organisational settings. This mixed methodology ensured a complex understanding of the research problem, leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to enhance the analysis. Findings: The research findings revealed the pathways to how AI influences organisational behaviour and communication dynamics. Initial analysis of survey data and interviews offered insights into employee perceptions, identifying potential challenges and opportunities. One major trait emerging from data analysis is employees’ unstable levels of apprehension and enthusiasm regarding AI integration. While many view it as a mechanism for efficiency, productivity, and innovation, others indicate distress about job shifts and loss of autonomy. Understanding and adopting these opposing insights are fundamental for encouraging a positive organisational ecosystem for AI readiness and adoption. Originality/value: By examining the impact of AI on employees’ attitudes, collaboration, and communication patterns, this research contributes viable insights for organisations navigating the integration of AI into their structures.

Hegemonik Erkeklikten Erkekliğin Kırılganlığına: The Power of the Dog Filminde Homososyal İlişkiler

Author(s): Fatmagül Ayhan,Atilla Barutçu / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 04/2023

Since the 1990s, many studies have challenged the concept of hegemonic masculinity by producing different categories or attempting to read masculinities parallel to hegemonic masculinity. One of the concepts produced is fragile masculinity. While hegemonic masculinity implies the position of masculinity on the highest level of the hierarchy, which is difficult to have, fragile masculinity points out that this position is constructed with the risk of being lost at any moment. The 2021 movie, The Power of the Dog, offers a good analysis to read the unstable positions of masculinities. The movie shows different masculinity performances as well as the role of homosocial places and relationships in unstable positions of these performances. This article focuses on the representations of masculinities and discusses the reciprocal interaction of hegemonic and non-hegemonic masculinities and their changing positions. It concludes that homosociality not only supports the masculinities but also reveals the fragility

A human who open their eyes to life finds themselves within a religious tradition and culture. They encounter religious objects and places, meets religious people and live in communication with them. They learn about religion from their family and their surroundings; they see people who perform their religious worship, and from time to time, they themselves participate in these worships. They ask questions, do research, and turn to the use of religious words and concepts. Childhood period has a significant impact on the formation of religious belief, attitudes and behaviours in adulthood, in other words, on the construction of religious identity. The study examined the origins of individual and collective religious identity, religious experiences from childhood to adulthood and cultural contexts. Thus, it was investigated that how participants constructed their religious identities by making sense of the reference frameworks that they acquired from religious narratives and traditions. In this context, the factors that shape and define the construction of religious identity have been analysed in two dimensions, theoretical and field research. 60 participants aged 25 to 75 living in Kahramanmaraş were interviewed in between 2021 and 2022. The study analysed findings about how adult religious individuals build their religious identities using phenomenological patterns from qualitative data collection methods. In the study, the participants were selected with the purposeful sampling method identified with the phenomenological pattern and the study conducted 40-160 minutes of face-to-face in-depth interviews with semi- structured questions prepared separately for 5 main and 13 sub-categories. The data obtained was analysed and categorised using the MAXQDA 12 package program. At this point in our research, the question of what are the factors that influence the formation and maintenance of a person’s religious identity is sought in the framework of the research findings. According to the findings obtained as a result of the study which is based on the basic approaches of role theory it has been observed that the family factor is prominent in building an individual’s religious identity. In addition to the influence of parents on family members in shaping religious identity, it has been observed that some participants are influenced by extended family members such as grandparents. On the other hand, it has been found that schools and courses attended under the referral of the family or the society, the religious officials and religious groups met, and media programmes followed are factors that influence the building of the individual’s religious identity after the family. It has been determined that religious texts and folkloric elements provide stereotyped roles in making choices such as the style of clothing eating and drinking, which are symbolically reflected in the individual’s life, in the implementation of religious orders and moral principles, in short, the construction of religious identity.

Author(s): Seçil Simge Uyar,Ergün Hamzadayı / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2023

This study aimed to determine the effect of teaching speaking strategies on both speaking performance and speaking anxiety. A controlled pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was employed in the study. The study group comprised 38 eighth-grade students: 19 in the control group and 19 in the experimental group. The data for this study were collected using the speaking evaluation form and the speaking anxiety scale for secondary school students. The data were analyzed using the dependent-samples t-test, independent-samples t-test, and analysis of covariance. One finding of this study suggested that teaching speaking strategies did not result in a significant difference in speaking performance or speaking anxiety compared with traditional instruction. However, the introduction of speaking strategies had a positive and significant effect on speaking performance in the experimental group, although it did not influence speaking anxiety.
