The term delayed speech-language development refers to difficulties in the development of receptive and expressive language abilities, which can most often be noticed in the period from one and a half to three years. Through a multidisciplinary approach and assessment, parents receive a complete report on the child’s development (speech-language, psychomotor and psychological development). In this paper, the aim is to show how the application of speech therapy treatment of a three-year-old child with delayed speech and language development and reeducation of psychomotor skills achieves significant results in speaking, adopting the first words, sentences and achieving experience of himself and his body. Didactic aids - pictures were used to assess receptive and expressive speech, while the Practicum of General Defectological Diagnostics was used to assess cognitive organization, practical organization, gnostic and practognostic organization. The Development Test by Čuturić (RTČ, 1996) was used to assess psychological development. The application of speech therapy treatment and re-education of psychomotor skills has recorded success in the field of receptive and expressive language development, as well as in the experience of oneself, self-awareness as a person, mastering one’s own body and organizing movement.
