Using inventories, the author presents prints and musical manuscripts from the library collections of Biała and Nieśwież, as well as instruments used in the 18th century; she also identifies and describes the interiors in which concerts and musical productions took place. She describes the way bands functioned in residences in Biała (Podlaska) and in Słuck, the recruitment mechanisms of musicians, their working and living conditions, the attitude of Prince Radziwiłł towards them, and the education system of the local musicians.

Rzeźba barokowa na Dolnym Śląsku w 2. połowie XVII wieku

Zamieszczone w niniejszym tomie materiały stanowią pokłosie sesji naukowej: "Rzeźba na Śląsku w 2. połowie XVII w." zorganizowanej 20.01.2017. w Muzeum Miedzi w Legnicy. Przedsięwzięcie to miało szczególny charakter, bowiem rzeźba barokowa - potraktowana jako temat przewodni - rzadko staje się obiektem zainteresowań badawczych. Niniejsza książka nie pretenduje do prezentacji kompleksowych dziejów rzeźby na Śląsku na przestrzeni 2. połowy XVII w. Omawiane przez autorów zagadnienia dotyczą jednak obiektów, artystów, lub problemów pomijanych do tej pory, bądź słabo rozpoznanych, w istotnym stopniu uzupełniając i korygując stan badań, zawarty przede wszystkim w w wydanej przed ponad trzema dekadami syntezie rzeźby barokowej na Śląsku pióra prof. Konstantego Kalinowskiego. Śląsk - który w tym czasie wchodził w skład Monarchii Habsburskiej - pomimo peryferyjnego położenia względem Wiednia oraz Pragi poszczycić się może zabytkami rzeźby stojącymi na wysokim poziomie wykonania, łączącymi różnorodne inspiracje. Oprócz związków artystycznych z Czechami oraz Austrią działali tu również rzeźbiarze pochodzący, bądź posługujący się formami charakterystycznymi dla rzeźby południowoniemieckiej, morawskiej, flamandzkiej, czy francuskiej, czego owocem jest bogata mozaika artystyczna o szerokim spektrum stylowym. Znalazło się w niej miejsce dla nurtów klasycyzujących oraz dzieł antyklasycznych, w tym tzw. śląskiej maniery barokowej, silnie eksponującej walory ekspresyjne i zrośniętej z miejscową tradycją sztuki. Zjawiska artystyczne zapoczątkowane w rzeźbie śląskiej pomiędzy 1650, a 1700 r. miały swoją wspaniałą kulminację w 1. połowie XVIII w. Dokładniejsze rozpoznanie rzeźby siedemnastowiecznej - czemu służy także i ta publikacja - pozwala pełniej nakreślić kontekst dla erupcji ilościowej oraz jakościowej rzeźby, jakie miały miejsce na Śląsku około 1700 r.

Przestrzeń i czas w malarskim przekazie historii. Autorski projekt artystyczno-naukowy 2018

The book Space and Time in the Transmission of History through Painting presents an artistic and scientific project carried out by the author in 2018 as a creative commemoration of the Wielkopolska Uprising 1918-1919 on the 100th anniversary of its outbreak. The work presents painterly documentation, a personal registration of the landscape of history of the places associated with the Wielkopolska Uprising. The evolution of this landscape is shown through the creation of original painting space-time, which takes into account the changes of space observed over time, and which generates reflections on its reception in the context of the overlapping of historical time with contemporary time. A multidimensional and colourful message is presented through painting, illustrated with reproductions of the author's paintings created on the basis of retrospection, and a comparison of the currently observed landscape space with its historical context. The book introduces the artist's working technique and presents her innovative technique of structural painting in combination with photography and digital printing. The subject matter is supplemented by texts, documentation of the creative process and photographic accounts of exhibitions and educational meetings organised by the author in places of historical inspiration. The project was conducted over an area of three voivodeships in six localities where the activities of the Wielkopolska Uprising were marked. It was awarded a grant by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

Polski film dokumentalny po 2005 roku

The texts collected in the book are a summary of the author’s work as a documentary film producer (1995-2016). The book explores the situation in the film industry in 2005-2022, after the implementation of the Act on Cinematography, which resulted in forming Polish Film Institute. The author analyses the mechanisms functioning among the filmmakers, and stresses that achieving success requires cooperation with other entities, e.g. those researching the market or writing about films. In his opinion, a very important element of the subjective status of documentaries is the dialogue with the viewers – a film should be treated as a communication tool.

Türk Müziği Literatürü ile Oda Müziği Eğitimi ve Müzik Eğitimi Lisansüstü Programlarındaki Ders Kazanımlarına Yansımaları

Chamber music is one of the courses in which music education departments perform music activities together in undergraduate and graduate programs. In these lessons, students perform examples of national and universal chamber music. The aim of this research is to reveal the use of Turkish composers' works in chamber music lessons in Music Education Graduate Programs and to determine the reflections of this literature to the gains in the chamber music lesson content in the Music Education Graduate Programs with the application carried out using the piano chamber music works of Turkish composers. In line with this purpose, first of all, interviews were done with the lecturers who provide chamber music education at postgraduate level using a semi-structured interview form. Also, piano chamber music works of Turkish composers are listed by document analysis method. Then, chamber music education, which was performed using piano chamber music works of Turkish composers, was observed with structured observation forms. Interviews were done with the students who were observed before and after the observation using the semi-structured interview form. Nvivo12 program was used in the analysis of the data obtained from the interviews, content analysis was done and certain themes and codes were reached as a result of these analyzes. 447 chamber music works of 107 Turkish composers were reached in the work list obtained by document analysis method. These works reached include the instruments in instrument education in the Fine Arts Education Department of the Faculty of Education, Department of Music Education. As a result of the interviews made with the lecturers, it was concluded that the factors affecting the achievement of the course achievements related to chamber music works of Turkish composers are limited literature and students' level differences. However, it was determined that the use of this literature in chamber music education was difficult due to the insufficient accumulation of students on Turkish music elements, their indifference to Turkish music, and inadequate works suitable for the level. As a result of the observations made with the piano chamber music of Turkish composers, it was revealed that the achievements in the Music Education Graduate Programs were reached by using this literature. Based on the results obtained from the interviews, in the last part of the research, suggestions such as writing works suitable for all levels, printing written works, taking place of this literature in the curriculum and artistic/scientific activities are included.

The Feminist Helmut Newton is a book devoted to the work of Helmut Newton, who had a huge impact on the development of feminist art and photography. In each decade, his photography gained more and more importance. It can be said that in principle it was never just a form of art or reporting. The image has always influenced all areas of social life - from politics to consumption. One of such socio-cultural problems raised by photography may be feminism. The book presents the work of the German fashion photographer Helmut Newton as changing not only the world of fashion but also the world of 20th-century feminism. His unusual ability to attract eyes through controversial topics and projects has won Newton a number of fans, as well as making even more enemies. However, the photographer-pornographer, as contemporary critics called him became an icon of his time, arousing extreme emotions - from delight to scandal. Yet, it cannot be denied that he showed a whole range of female types, emotions and behaviors. The book also includes the results of the research conducted at the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin.

Danuta i Daniel Olędzcy. Architektura na miarę możliwości.

The biography of the couple of Tri-city architects, Danuta and Daniel Oledzki presents the image of designers of above-average professional achievements, authors of several buildings which were written down into the records of the history of Polish architecture. Grunwald Housing Estate (Grunwaldzka Dzielnica Mieszkaniowa) in Gdańsk, „falowce” multi-family housing, Wybrzeże Theater or Center of Culture in Kielce are ones of the most significant examples of Polish architecture raised in the times of socialism. Meanwhile, each of the projects includes its own story representing the everyday life in Polish People's Republic. The book dedicated to Danuta and Daniel Oledzki is not only a history of the projects and their execution. Their biographies are representative for the whole generation of architects who were born in the Second Polish Republic and entered adulthood in postwar Poland. They achieved their full potential in the times of Gomułka and Gierek and finally had to struggle the post-communist transformation. The history of Oledzkis and their works appears to be important in terms of preservation of the architecture heritage of PRL. The genesis of specific buildings and its circumstances enables the full, objective evaluation and, therefore, protection of their fundamental values.

The book summarizes two moments of political breakthrough, which allows to look at Polish history in the 20th century not only from the perspective of violent transformations, but also long-lasting social, political and cultural narratives, reflected in Polish film productions, the organization of the film industry and the expectations the film audiences held of Polish cinema. The authors reflect on the narratives Polish filmmakers had to face, what elements of these narratives are present in Polish films which today prove both socio-political shocks and continuity and which form the complicated genealogy of the Third Polish Republic. The texts addressing this issue in German, Russian and Czechoslovakian cinema allow for seeing both transformations in Polish cinema in the transnational context.
