Фонетска реконструкција таутовокалских дифтонга као лингвотекстолошки проблем (на грађи Његошевог спјева „Шћепан Мали”)

Author(s): Radmilo N. Marojević / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 22/2020

The author of this paper explains the interpretation of the diphthongs in the epic ”Stephen the Little” by Serbian poet Petar II Petrovich Njegos from the epoch of romanticism. They are: а) tautovocalic diphthongs in the same word, b) tautovocalic diphthongs at the word boundary and its enclitics, c) tautovocalic diphthongs at the word boundary and its proclitics, d) tautovocalic diphthongs at the boundary of two phonetic words, i.e. in sandhi. Фонетске и морфолошке особине српских посавских говора између Врбаса и Укрине

Author(s): Dragomir V. Kozomara / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 1/2016

1. The paper researches phonetic and morphological characteristics of the Serbian speeches in the Posavina region, placed between the Vrbas and Ukrina rivers, which belong to the group of younger Stokavian speeches of the Herzego- vina-Krajina (Eastern Herzegovian) dialect. According to the dialectal specificities and the areas they include, these speeches belong to the northwestern group of the Herzegovina-Krajina dialect, which is established according to the following characteristics: 1) Very often does one encounter the existence of a partial and total reduc- tion of the vowel и in the non-accented positions: vlàdika, godina, оtišla, spremili; godna, nedljom, vidćeš etc. 2) The Yekavian yat assimilation was not done as consistently as it was done in the southeastern speeches of this dialect. For example, it is common to hear one say: djevojka, djeca etc. 3) Names and hypocorisms of the types Rade, Jovo, Pero etc., are obligato- rily declined according to the pattern of female nouns ending in -a, and possessive adjectives derived from these nouns are formed with the suffix -in: Drago – Drage – Dragi – Dragu...; Dragin... 4) The verbal system is simplified. For example, the traces of imperfect are kept only in the form of bijaše/bješe, and of perfect participle in the deadjectival form of bivši, bivša etc. 5) The ending -i is regularly found in the second person singular of personal pronouns: meni, tebi, sebi. 6) The accent links of the types: idemo, pjevamo, čitamo, etc. are obligatory. 2. According to the dialectological classification, these speeches belong to the eastern branch of northwestern speeches of the Herzegovina-Krajina dialect, and the isoglosses which one uses for differentiating them from the speeches of the regions of Lika, Kordun, the north Dalmatia and the western parts of Banija and Kordun, are the following: 1) In numbers from ’11 to ’19, the vocalic sequence -ае- > e: dvanest, trinest... 2) The replacement of о > u next to nasal consonants is not a characteristic of these speeches. The examples of the type armunika, vaguni, uni and the like, are very rare. 3) The present forms of the verb jesti are regularly found in prosodic forms: jedem, jedeš, jede etc.

Фонетске одлике култних списа о Светом цару Урошу патријарха Пајсеја

Author(s): Ivana M. Bezrukova / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 16/2017

This paper analyses the phonetic features of legendary papers on the Holy Emperor Uroš by Metropolitan Pajsej. The aforementioned comprise the papers entitled Služba Svetom caru Urošu (The Service Dedicated to the Holy Emperor Uroš), Sinaksarsko žitije (The Sinaksar Hagiography), and Žitije Svetog cara Uroša (The Hagiography of the Holy Emperor Uroš). The research is done on Pajsej’s autograph from 1641, with a view to determining to what extent the presence of oral tradition elements in the literary Church Slavonic language is conditioned by the genre of the work. As anticipated, the oral tradition features can be found mostly in The Hagiography of the Holy Emperor Uroš, predominantly in the form of toponyms, possessive adjectives, and anthroponyms, which serve as guardians of folk customs and expressions.

Фонетске особине говора источне Шумадије

Фонетске особине говора источне Шумадије

Author(s): Žarko Bošnjaković / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 1/2008

Author(s): Iraida Jacovlevna Selyutina / Language(s): Russian Issue: 03 (22)/2016

The article shows the results of instrumental studies of the sound systems of indigenous minorities' languages of Siberia and adjacent regions. The presence of systems which are structured by the parameters of the larynx movement, as well as regularities of a developed pharyngeal harmony revealed in the Tuvan language, and also the obligatory pharyngealization of the Russian borrowings by the Tuvinians — all these factors serve to prove the important role of pharyngo-laryngeal part of a vocal tract for specifying Siberian peoples’ articulatory-acoustic bases (AAB) and phonological systems in their languages. With the Mongolian lagnuages being relatively close, the principles of a structural-taxonomical organization of the consonant systems of the Mongolian languages are, however, typologically different. A comprehensive analysis of instrumental data on the Tungus-Manchu phonetics through the example of the Evenki language shows that the specifics of the Evenki AAB is determined by a more forward localization of articulatory settings of consonants than in the majority of the surveyed Turkic and Mongolian languages of Siberia. The shifts of Khanty articulatory settings to the center of the oral part of the resonator cavity — meaning that the forelingual consonants’ push back, and, on the contrary, the guttural settings’ move forward — are similar to the previously identified processes in the segment of the vocal systems of the South Siberian Turkic languages, for which an Ugro-Samoyedic substrate is assumed. The reasons for discrepancies between phonic and phonological systems in the Turkic languages of southern Siberia are the heterogeneity of substrates, the different nature of turkization, the specifics of multi-temporal and multi-dimensional contacts of ethnic groups and the differences in their articulatory-acoustic bases.

Фоносимволизм и мотивированность слова в художественном тексте

Author(s): T.V. Buzanova,L.V. Vladimirova / Language(s): Russian Issue: 5/2016

The paper considers the role of phonosemantics in the process of adaptation of loan words and proper names in the Russian language. The authors have aimed to trace what factors – proper linguistic and extralinguistic – influence the development of the Russian language vocabulary. Special attention has been paid to the phenomenon of “folk etymology” (“reetymologization”) described at the time by representatives of the Kazan linguistic school. The conditions necessary for the loan word to assimilate in the target language and to successfully function in it have also been considered. The importance of phonetic motivation for loan words due to the absence of any other types of motivation during the transition from language to language has been emphasized. The paper focuses on studying of the relativeness of sound and meaning in the language consciousness. Currently, this relativeness has been theoretically substantiated and experimentally proved by both foreign and Russian researchers (N.I. Gorelov, A.P. Zhuravlev, S.V. Voronin, et al.).

Француски полувокали и назални вокали у балетској терминологији у српском језику

Author(s): Jovana Marčeta / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 7/2017

In this paper we analyse ballet terms of French origin containing semi-vowels and nasal vowels (e.g. battement, entrechat, pas de trois). Since the use of ballet terminology is not standardized in the Serbian language, our aim is to analyse the chosen terms and to systematize the irregularities in their oral and written use in the Serbian language. The results of our research show that there are many inconsistencies (for exemple entrelacé [ StYBlAse ] is pronounced as antrelase, antrlase or entrelase in serbian; temps levé [ tS l(B)ve] is pronounced as tan leve or ten leve; pas de trois [ pA d(B)tYwA ] is pronounced as pa de troa / pa de trua, etc.). Since nowadays we expect the increased production of texts about ballet, we have proposed a standardization of the chosen ballet terms that would be useful for the authors of the professional literature, as well as for ballet critics and journalists of daily press.

Функционална субституция на неафрикатен с африкатен обструент в устната практика на френския и българския език

Author(s): Veska Kirilova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2020

The present study examines some cases of functional substitution of non-affricate with affricate obstruents in the oral practice of the French language, some of its diatopic and diastratic variations, as well as the manifestation of this process in the Bulgarian language. The study finds that the affrication concerns only the plosive obstruents ([t], [d], [k], [g]) in the French language, while the affrication in the Bulgarian language is observed both with plosive ([t], [d]) and fricative obstruents ([c], [з], [ш], [ж]). The terms ‚direct‘ and ‚indirect affrication‘ are introduced. The study analyzes the phonetic causes of the substitution process under consideration.

Функционалната граматика на М. Халидей за определяне на елементите от тематичното поле в българското просто изречение

Author(s): Elisaveta Balabanova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2017

The text uses the Functional Grammar of M. A. K. Halliday (Halliday, 1985; Halliday & Mathiessen, 2004) and the definition of Halliday as the topic being this that the speaker decides to make a starting point of his message. Using this definition in a corpus, comprising of only first paragraphs of contemporary Bulgarian fiction, we make conclusions about which sentence parts are most commonly used as a topic. A hierarchy of the most common sentence parts, which function as topic, is defined. The conclusions show that the referentiality and the syntactic features of the sentence elements are the reasons for an element to function as a topic.

Функционалните семантико-стилистични категории аксиологичност и оценъчност

Author(s): Andreana Eftimova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2017

The article examines the concept of the functional semantic-stylistic category (FSSC) the introduction of which is the result of the development of functional direction in linguistics, particularly functional grammar and Bondarko’s theory of functional-semantic categories and fields. The interest through FSSC axiology and evaluation was prompted by the awareness of language as a space in which the structures of knowledge, opinions, beliefs and imagination are associated with evaluation. The place and role of lexical-stylistic means are outlined in the field of evaluation and axiology.

Херменевтични бележки за библейските псалми

Author(s): Regina Koycheva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 16/2016

The article examines two difficult to interpret verses from the Book of Psalms. The analysis compares the Hebrew text, the Septuagint, the Old Bulgarian text (along with its Church Slavonic version) and the Modern Bulgarian synodical translation of the psalms. The proposed reading is based on linguistic, literary and theological observations. In the first analysed verse (Ps. 4:2), semantic illegibility is interpreted as a result of the implicit presence of a specific Hebraism in the translations. In the other case (Ps. 5:9), verbal expression is highly elliptical because of the preference given to the phonetic structure of the verse in the Hebrew original.

Author(s): Gordana Jovanović,Miroslav Vukelić / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 53/2016

The first known Slavonic grammatical treatise The Eight Parts of Speech survives in forty-three manuscripts, the two oldest of which (from the14th and 15th century respectively) belong to the Serbian, while all the others belong to the Russian redaction. Our study seeks to show that the text relies mostly (but not only) on The Art of Grammar by Dionysius Thrax and on his disciples. An analysis of the Slavonic grammatical terms and their Greek basis is followed by the translation of the text from Old Church Slavonic into contemporary Serbian furnished with necessary commentaries.

Simile is viewed as a multifaceted phenomenon deeply rooted in cognitive and lingual peculiarities of an ethnos. Applying a complex approach to simile analysis, it being a study case of the hyponym flower and hyperonym poppy, simile proves to be a fundamental lingual and cognitive phenomenon. It reflects the essential and consistent relationships between the objects of comparison in their lingual form. It is the result of the cognitive segmentation of the outer world whose effect is the comparison of mental images on the basis of a common feature; their verbalization following the corresponding phonetic, morphemic, lexical forms and grammatical constructions with a specific functional load. Simile is the endlessness of images, symbols and concepts to be reverbalised in translation.
