Summary/Abstract: Transport is one of the main sectors of the Bulgarian economy, and a significant contribution to this is made by freight road transport, which occupies a leading position in terms of the quantities of goods transported and the transport work performed in the national transport system. Freight road transport in Bulgaria ensures the supply of raw materials and materials to manufacturing enterprises and the transportation of finished products from the place where they are produced to consumers. The state of freight road transport in Bulgaria is of utmost importance for the competitiveness of the national economy and for the quality of transport services to the population. This report analyzes the dynamics and changes in the quantities of goods transported and the volumes of transport work performed by freight road transport, carried out for payment and for own account on the territory of Bulgaria. The analyzed period covers the period from 2015 to 2024. The examined ten-year period allows us to track and assess the main trends in the development of domestic freight road transport in the country and, on this basis, to make recommendations for its sustainable future development.
