Summary/Abstract: The monograph is based on a university project aimed at the development of hybrid ESP courses at the authors’ university, the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), in order to provide for modern high-quality education. Having examined the research on the issue considered, the recent developments in human communication, technical advance and foreign language teaching, the research team carries out a comprehensive survey of students’ and faculty’s perceptions and attitudes with regard to hybrid ESP courses. Some 240 UNWE students, 34 UNWE lecturers and 33 Italian lecturers took part in the survey. The findings resulted in an insightful analysis, as well as in the development of methodological recommendations on the design of hybrid ESP course syllabi with model hybrid ESP syllabi for UNWE courses provided. Along with the research, banks of materials for hybrid ESP courses are offered. The banks include electronic instructional teaching and assessment materials for lecturers and for students, and contribute to the enhanced honing of learners’ functional communicative competence.
