Summary/Abstract: The collected volume entitled The (Post)Secular Turn: Religious, Moral and Socio-Political Values of Students in Serbia presents research on the topic of retraditionalization and desecularization of Serbian society, primarily among the younger population. This thesis is opposed to the idea that Serbia is a post-secular country. The purpose of the study is to answer the question whether the processes of democratization and modernization of society are in conflict with the growth of religiosity. The post-secular state is seen as a possible “encouraging” factor in the democratization of society, as religion with its moral values and principles can be an instigator and mortar for democratization.

At the beginning, we define the complex notion of religiosity, and then we present the social context in which the research was conducted. Then we present the results of the research, from confessional affiliation, self-assessment of religiosity, indicators of traditional and current and dogmatic religiosity, making comparisons with earlier research. Then the attitude of the students, especially those who declare themselves religious, their expectations, their attitude towards the change of life and their fears towards Serbia joining the European Union is presented.

- Summary/Abstract:The text is about the research of the Center for Religious Studies, which implicitly contains the problem of postsecularity. The problem is actually the dilemma of whether post-secular means transformation, or the continuation of secular neglect of the beyond and the transcendent sense of spirituality. The meaning of the term "religion" is also considered, the origin of which is the human spiritual need to understand the telos of existence, which seeks meaning only on "this side". However, given the zeitgeist of the dominant modernization, which overlooks the concept of the other side, the institution of religion becomes obsolete, especially when it itself loses the spiritual connection with the "other side". Despite this, it is shown that the idea of spirituality is important and that the crisis of material goods and the need for a sustainable organization of the environment brings us back to non-material values. Thus, spirituality ceases to be considered a part of religion, or its alternative - spiritual can also be a way of looking at the world and human The possibility of confirming these assumptions is, however, only partially given that in this research no explicit questions were asked.

- Summary/Abstract:Based on the attitudes of young Serbian intellectuals about their own nation and members of other national communities, we tried to examine the connection between national and religious identity. We have witnessed that in the previous period in Serbia, church dignitaries often emphasized religion as a characteristic of an ethnic group, which inevitably had an impact on the attitudes of believers. Theorists, however, point out the difference between traditional and current religiosity, so we assumed that traditional religiosity, as the cultural basis of the nation, is associated with a stronger national identity, while current religiosity is characterized by a stronger connection with the religious community and, thus, a weaker national identification.

- Summary/Abstract:This paper examines the results of a survey conducted in 2013 as part of a wider research entitled: Religious, moral and socio-political values of students in Serbia, conducted by the Center for Religious Studies of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory. The survey was filled out by over a thousand students from all major university centers in Serbia. The aim of the survey data analysis was to determine the connection between three different dimensions of the student population in Serbia: socio-economic origin, economic attitudes and religiosity. It was established that socioeconomic background has a significant influence on the formation of economic attitudes and on the level of religiosity of students. It was also determined that religiosity affects the economic attitudes of students, but that this influence does not clearly lead to the creation of coherent attitudes on the issue of greater or lesser economic equality.

- Summary/Abstract:The subject of this work is the analysis of religious and socio-political values of students in Serbia, according to the research "Post-secular turn: religious, moral and socio-political values of students in Serbia"; from the point of view of political science of religion. Although the majority of respondents consider themselves religious and a member of a traditional religious community, other research results lead us to the conclusion that the religious affiliation of the student population in Serbia must be understood more as a part of tradition and identity, and not as a product of a true sense of faith. Accordingly, the main hypothesis is that religion and religious affiliation of students in Serbia are less a question of religion itself, and more a question of identity and tradition. On the other hand, by analyzing the results related to religion and religious values, we will try to analyze their relationship to some political attitudes and issues.

- Keywords:democracy; European Union; Inglehart; political culture; postmaterialism; postmodernism; equality
- Summary/Abstract:The paper examines the political culture of students in Serbia. The values of young intellectuals are interpreted from the point of view of Inglehart's theory of the post-materialist revolution. The results of the research shed light on this theory from a different angle and require a modification of Inglehart's original materialism - postmaterialism scale. In the study, it will be seen what attitude students have towards the current political system in the country, towards democratic principles, the EU, but also a number of significant social issues, such as gender equality and minorities.

- Summary/Abstract:The backbone of the analysis that will be presented here is the nationalist orientation index, formed on the basis of a series of variables that, each in its own way, measure the degree of national exclusivity of the respondents. The basic dimensions that this index follows, for the sake of a more comprehensive and detailed analysis, can be classified into: attitudes about socialism and the reasons for its collapse; nationality and the current national distance that students maintain towards certain ethnic groups; and views on Serbia's accession to the European Union and the possible changes that accession will bring. In this way, apart from recognizing the existence of nationalist orientation, it is possible to determine whether its causes are found in the social circumstances of the nineties, but also whether, and in what direction, its further development is possible in the future.
