Summary/Abstract: Emotions constitute a basic element which needs to be taken into account when planning preschool language education. When positive, they spring into action; when negative however, they may discourage students from participating in activities. The aim of this article is to present some useful techniques of supporting kindergarten pupils in dealing with emotions. First of all, the sources of foreign language learning motivation among 3- to 6-year-old children and the impact of preschool education on learning in the future are discussed. Furthermore, the introduction of didactic games during a foreign language class, adapted to the emotional development of preschool children, is analyzed. The final part of the article focuses on the Non-Violent Communication method, applied to an efficient conflict-solving process.
