Summary/Abstract: When, under the Peace of Westphalia treaties (1648) that ended the Thirty Years’ War the Habsburg rulers started to re-catholicize Silesia. The only territories which could count on their tolerance were Wroclaw and Duchies of Bydgoszcz, Legnica and Oleśnica ruled by the independent evangelical princes.
