Summary/Abstract: In the face of contemporary development challenges such as climate change, social inequalities, and environmental degradation, a new approach to economics based on the principles of sustainable development has become crucial. An essential element of this paradigm is the inclusion of a gender perspective and the recognition of women's roles as active participants in socio-economic processes. In Southeast Asia, a region characterized by immense cultural, economic, and political diversity, the situation of women in the context of sustainable development is complex. On one hand, women often lead pro-environmental and social initiatives, especially in agriculture, caregiving, and micro-entrepreneurship. On the other hand, they face significant structural barriers, including limited access to resources, low representation in decision-making structures, wage inequalities, and the burden of unpaid care work. The aim of this article is to analyze the situation of women within the context of the sustainable development economy in China, India, and Japan. The study seeks to identify structural barriers, the level of women's participation in the labor market, their access to resources, and their roles in decision-making processes and pro-environmental initiatives. The analysis also evaluates the effectiveness of public policies and programs supporting gender equality in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research employed a comparative analysis method and secondary data analysis (based on statistical sources and reports from international institutions), which allowed for the comparison and interpretation of differences and similarities in the situation of women across the three selected countries. The choice of China, India, and Japan is dictated by their diverse levels of economic development, social structures, and cultural and political differences, providing a comprehensive perspective.
