Tourist function of Polish macro-regions in the socio-economic terms of the first decade of Polish membership in the EU

Summary/Abstract: Ten-year presence of Poland in the European Union allows to conduct an evaluation with reference to a socio-economic and tourist condition of Polish regions. The research based on published secondary data indicates that the level of tourist function development and the level of socio-economic development of six Polish macro-regions have undergone transformations in the process of time (from 2005 to 2012). In all analysed macroregions a positive strong dependence between the growth of tourism and socio-economic development of the region has been proven.
