Summary/Abstract: The coastal road was built during the Hellenistic era and connected the straits with the Danube delta. It provided communication with the Greek colonies on the western Black Sea coast. Information about its functioning can be found in the works of ancient authors, as well as in archaeological research of Greek and Thracian settlements. It passes through the important Greek colonies: Apollonia, Mesembria, Odessos, Dionyso-polos, Tommy.
