Summary/Abstract: In the article we are dealing with the Rusyn national identity in the works of Mária Maľcovská, who is one of the best prosaics of contemporary Rusyn literature on Slovakia after 1989. In her texts we see the way of processing the theme of national identity, which can be found in the works of most of the Rusyn authors. Identity in her texts is expressed through the family, the values of love and goodness, where the central character is the idealistic figure of the mother.
