Evaluation of Mykolay Ksenyak's work as a lifelong project of strengthening Rusyn national identity

Summary/Abstract: Our article deals with the Rusyn writer Mikuláš Kseňák and his literary work, which we evaluate from the point of view of a lifelong project of consolidating the national identity of the Rusyns in Slovakia. His literary work is divided into several groups on the basis of genre-thematic criteria and we describe the way in which the function of strengthening national identity is applied. We perceive the lifelong work of Mikuláš Kseňák as an example of the successful use of the formative, ideological function of literature in favor of strengthening the national self-identification of one‘s own nation.
