Summary/Abstract: The present paper proposes to analyze the importance of renewable energy sources used in the textile industry, analyzing a series of relevant indicators such as: Share of energy from renewable sources, Generation of waste by economic activity, or Energy Balances. The analysis aims to visualize more precisely the differences between the approaches of the European Union countries and how the environment is impacted by the industry, thus focusing on the circular economy we observe how certain toxic habits can be transformed into sustainable ways reducing pollution and negative ecological impact. The role is to evaluate and analyze performance indicators, using essential data that can optimize processes. The textile industry is known as the second most polluting industry in the world both because of the high consumption of energy and natural resources, as well as the generation of waste, therefore the existence of renewable energy sources, the development of innovative technologies and promotion among citizens can be essential in reducing the negative contribution to the environment. In order to have a broader view of the theme, the bibliometric analysis was carried out, thus facilitating the examination of the specialized literature to understand the trends, progress and dynamics of the theme. Therefore, following the analysis of the indicators and the overview of the background issue, the study makes a substantial contribution to the deepening of the understanding of the importance of renewable energy in the textile industry mainly by the contribution of sustainable approaches to this sector. The research enables a real awareness of the green economy, providing a clear perspective on how the transition to the use of sustainable energy sources not only meets environmental objectives, but also on the adaptability of the industry.
