Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to identify the impact and importance that independent variables such as economic growth, renewable energy consumption and the exploration of the role of the environment, environmental regulations and democracy have on the ecological footprint in the 27 member states of the European Union. This is made possible with the use of forecasting at the level of the dependent variable according to the values of the independent ones so that the effectiveness of the model by taking steps to reduce the ecological footprint can be evaluated accordingly. This study may help in making decisions and also develop and implement more effective long-term policies and strategies at the European level.
