Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the state of organic farming in the European Union (EU) in the context of the target set by the European Green Deal, the Farm to Fork Strategy which stipulates that by 2030, 25% of the EU's agricultural land should be dedicated to organic farming. The paper will explore the definitions and practices of organic agriculture. Furthermore, the analysis will focus on how different EU member states implement organic farming, highlighting the significant differences among them. It will examine each country’s contribution to the total organic farming area in the EU, as well as the share of organic agriculture within each country. This comparison will provide a detailed overview of the diversity of organic farming in the European Union and will highlight the specific challenges and opportunities faced by countries in the transition towards a more sustainable agricultural system.
