Innowacje w brytyjskiej bankowości komercyjnej. Lekcje z kryzysu finansowego

The purpose of this article is to present innovative solutions in commercial banking in the UK. Some of the new banking products used in the British financial practice were shown, e.g.: sharia banking, based on the concept of Islamic banking, the „buy to rent” program and services “drive-thru”. Changes both in the English legislative and banking system were described. Innovations and the innovation process itself were identified, dividing innovations between progressive and radical ones. The article defines the financial crisis, its causes, course and consequences. The conclusions drawn are nothing but the financial crisis lessons. The financial crisis comes in different variations and forms, of which the most dangerous one is the model WW, indicating a high economical instability of a country. Seven stages of the current financial crisis were listed. The conclusions drawn from the analysis of the problem strongly suggest the need to return to a conservative lending policy. It also indicates that traditional banking is again gaining its great importance. We are dealing with a number of already introduced and being currently implemented prudential rules, the beginning of the regulation era and State intervention

Providing tax revenues of the state budget is conditioned in many dimensions. One of the activities that affect the maintenance of the desired level of these revenues is to develop the information society. The development of the information society depends on the one hand on the extent of sharing by various entities, including tax administration tools allowing both taxpayers and tax administrations to achieve their goals, tasks and responsibilities. It should be noted that on the other hand the development of the information society is affected by competence and attitude of taxpayers to use new technologies in their relations with the tax authorities. In this context, it should be stressed that the development of e-government is inherently related to the technical implementation of the tax rules and the principle of convenience and cheapness and to the upgrade of services standards, factors which contribute to the tax income of the state budget.

Przewagi i luki konkurencyjne Poczty Polskiej

The paper presents the results of a research on the assessment of postal services which was conducted by the author in the segment of institutional buyers. The reason why the institutional clients were chosen is the fact that they send 88% of letters and 95% of all packages in Europe. In Poland this ratio is similar. The study showed that the Polish Post, despite its strong market position, is only partially able to compete on the open market. Its strongest advantages are: mail delivery to each recipient in the country, a wide range of services, benefits to basic services, the availability of the branch network and post boxes, regularity of service, visual identification of the company.

Postrzeganie ryzyka zakupu jako bariery w zakupach internetowych młodych dorosłych

The purpose of the paper is presenting and analyzing an important aspect of e-consumer behavior – the perception of risk as a barrier in online shopping of young adults. The perception of the risk was evaluated in both qualitative and quantitative researches that were conducted in 2012 as a part of research project ‘Buying behavior of “young adults” on the Internet’. The research result shows that “young adults” perceive internet shopping as rather safe. The more detailed analysis indicates that for “young adults” risk seems not to be a significant barrier in making online purchases.

Analysis their behaviors of the Internet confirms that they willingly buy products in the network and use the online services. So this is a positive trend which companies should capitalize on.

A high level of competitive rivalry forces companies to seek new methods of satisfying customer’s needs. Due to new communication tools, direct customer relationships, reserved so far mainly for B2B market, become possible also on the B2C market. This situation enables companies to engage consumers in offer co-creation process. The result of such cooperation could be the added value resulting from the preparation of tailored offer. Cooperation with the client may relate to one or more levels of the offer preparation process: core offer, actual offer or augmented offer. Presented examples unveil that the tailored offer are mainly characterized as services aimed at customer's need and expectations and therefore they perform better than a product or services accompanying the products would do. Those examples indicate that the use of this concept in practice often is the basis of their success
