Изобразителното изкуство като средство за емоционално-естетическото развитие на децата

Изобразителното изкуство като средство за емоционално-естетическото развитие на децата

Author(s): Tatiana Buyanova / Language(s): Russian Issue: 2/2017

The article deals with the role of aesthetic feelings in the upbringing of a child, the importance of fine art for the emotional and aesthetic development of preschool children. The term “language of fine art” is defined, its features are revealed, accessible for perception to preschool children. The interrelation between the children’s mastering of artistic means of fine arts with the increase in the quality of emotional expressiveness of children’s drawings and, in general, with the development of children’s fine art is proved. It is noted that art can be regarded as a factor in the integration of a child into a cultural space.

„Сърцето на мрака“ – идеи и решения на първата българска постановка

Author(s): Margreta Grigorova,Petya Tsoneva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2019

Heart of Darkness is a multilayered but coherent work whose universally acclaimed appeal draws on its thematic preoccupation with the problems of initiation and cognition. The rich variety of interpretations and creative reworks of the novella vary from discussions of its importance as a sample of anticolonial fiction to the acknowledgement of its role as a precursor to contemporary fantastic literature. The first Bulgarian dramatisationof Heart of Darkness, screen-written and directed by Valeria Valcheva, is an insightful and successful attempt to do justice to both its contents and the suggestive power of its poetics translated into the language of drama. The performance combines the stylistic features of farce, cabaret, ritual and classical theatre, inserting fragments of Edgar Allan Poe, Vachel Lindsay, Tom Waits, Thomas Eliot and even Pushkin’s poems. Valcheva is particularlyconcerned with reading Conrad’s work as a “European” collective narrative where the African Other is rendered through the poetic features of mask-wearing and the symbolic “curtain” of the jungle. The performance is likewise accompanied by music that includes the “talking drums” of Congo, and its stage design was apparently borrowed from Orson Welles’s cinematic adaptations. One of the outstanding contributions of the Bulgarian performance to the earlier attempts at dramatising Conrad’s work is the use of a marionette to represent Kurtz’s self-glorified condition. The play likewise foregrounds the biographical aspect of Conrad’s work related to Conrad and Marguerite Poradowska’s correspondence.

(Не)познатият език: Гергьовден при бесарабските българи

Author(s): Svitlana Georgieva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2019

Folk-calendar terminology is an expression of the national specificity of cultures. This makes its studying promising within the framework of the tendencies for ‘European-style thinking’ which have emerged since the beginning of the 21st century. The article examines St. George’s Day customs and rituals in their ethnolinguistic aspect. G’erg’ewd’en (Vch, Cub, Chsh), G’ergyovd’en (A, G, Kam, Dl, Z), G’ergyochd’en (A) , G’ergyouud’en(Kr), Gyorguvd’en (Kul), Gyorguud’en (R), Gerg’ofden (Cyr), G’argyovd’an (DN), Gergiuden (Or) – the largest and richest – in a ritual sense – spring religious vestive-ritual complex of the Bessarabian Bulgarians, which is celebrated on the 6th of May (on the 23rd of April old style) and is dedicated to the Christian saint George, who is – in the folk tradition – the protector of shepherds and flocks. The paper attempts to systematize and explore the peculiarities of the cultural dialect associated with St. George’s Day ritual sequence.

Spiral Coercion: Nazi Power and Family Authority in Charlotte Salomon’s Autobiographical Work Life? Or Theatre?

Author(s): Eleftheria Karagianni / Language(s): English Issue: 11/2022

Life? or Theatre? is a visual-theatrical, textual, and auto-biographical play of Charlotte Salomon, a Jewish talented artist, executed at a very young age in the Auschwitz concentration camp. In this paper, I consider Salomon’s work a document of life, and a testimony of her personal intra-familial, and personal experience of “the before—Auschwitz” (Jenn-Gastal 228) depicting, among others, historical and socio-political facts articulated and expressed through narrative and painting. Since in Sociology life stories or autobiographical narratives constitute a valuable tool, I will employ Salomon’s drawings, captions and texts as a “synergetic fusing of social sciences and the arts” (Bagley 34), in order to shed ample light on her reconstructed lived experience. This research aims at examining Salomon's autobiographical work from a sociological and philosophical perspective, referring to the views of great theorists, such as Hannah Arendt, Zygmunt Bauman, and the founders of the Frankfurt School, who tried to explain the origins of totalitarianism, power relations and the causes of the Holocaust.

LES BELLES INFIDELES ET LA RECEPTION DE SHAKESPEARE EN FRANCE (XVIIEME-XVIIIEME SIECLES)

LES BELLES INFIDELES ET LA RECEPTION DE SHAKESPEARE EN FRANCE (XVIIEME-XVIIIEME SIECLES)

Author(s): Ioana Alexandra Lionte-Ivan / Language(s): French Issue: 17/2019

This paper contains a brief analysis of the French cultural environment between the 18th and 19th century in order to closely observe, starting with the reception of Shakespeare‘s texts, the way in which translation was imagined and accomplished during the ,,belles infidels” era. The study takes into consideration both the opinions of the French literati regarding the threat that Shakespeare‘s theatre poses to the neoclassicist paradigm and the way in which these literati chose to translate the author. A general direction in the reception of Shakespeare‘s plays is thus identified and is represented by the resistance to foreign elements that, from one case to another, involves either a categorical refuse towards change or an attempt at cultural acclimatization. The study of the aforementioned translations, from Voltaire to François-Victor Hugo, is representative to a culture that slowly transitioned, from the point of view of translation studies, from cultural hegemony to the ideal of univocacy. The subject approached also occasions a discussion about the creation of meaning, at the level of the author‘s intentionality as well as at the level of reception. The study of Shakespeare‘s translations presupposes the analysis of a cultural mentality that, shifting between its preservation instinct and its need to evolve, creates new meanings.

Kore’nin Kültürel Mirası “Pansori ’ye Genel Bir Bakış

Author(s): Hatice Köroğlu Türközü / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 114/2023

Pansori (판소리), one of the important products of Korean Culture, is the exhibition of a story accompanied by song and music in public places. There are three elements in Pansori performance as singer/narrator, drummer and audience. The singer/narrator is central to the Pansori performance with his narration and body language, while the drummer plays a complementary role in the performance by providing rhythm and singing encouraging words to add excitement to the performance. What makes the Pansori interesting is that the audience also takes part in this performance. During the performance of the artists, the audience occasionally cheers to express their support and appreciation for the artists. Pansori, one of the cultural elements of Korea, is included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage list of UNESCO under the title of “Oral Traditions and Expressions”. Pansori was registered as Korean intangible cultural heritage number five in 1964 and was designated as world cultural heritage by UNESCO in November 2003. Although twelve of classical Pansori works are mentioned in Korean Culture, only five of them have reached today. It is possible to examine Pansori in the fields of music, theater and literature when we consider the elements such as music, fiction/story, audience and the audience accompanying the performers in the content of Pansori. Pansori started anonymously and continued by professional artists. In this study, besides looking at the place of Pansori, the Cultural Heritage of Korea, in Korean culture, its emergence, development and current situation are briefly mentioned. The aim of the study is to introduce an important Korea’s cultural heritage in Turkey, to reveal its importance in Korean culture and set the basis for future comparative studies.

Author(s): Nataliia Myroniuk / Language(s): Ukrainian Issue: 1/2023

The purpose of research is to reveal the peculiarities of the national scientific discourse on the issue of the formation and development of the Department of Choreography at the Kyiv State Institute of Culture. Research methodology. The methods of analysis, comparison, systematisation, and generalisation were used for the research. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the degree of development of the problem of forming and developing of the artpedagogical school of the choreography department at the Kyiv State Institute of Culture in modern national scientific discourse was revealed. Conclusions. In recent years, the researchers have paid much attention to socio-cultural, artistic, scientific-methodical, organisational aspects of the problem of formation and the first steps of the art and pedagogical school of the department of choreography at the Kyiv State Institute of Culture. Most of the publications introduce new materials into scientific circulation, which is important for the reproduction of a reliable panorama of the development of both the department and choreographic culture as a whole. Currently, it is possible to state the existence of a lively scientific discourse, which shows tendencies towards expansion and deepening. Quite conventionally, scientific works that deal with various aspects of the artistic, pedagogical, and scientific activities of the Department of Choreography of KDIK can be divided into three groups. The first group includes the studies that comprehensively consider the activity of the department as a holistic phenomenon against the background of socio-cultural development (I. Hutnyk, N. MyronIuk, A. Pidlypska). The second group is represented by the publications specially devoted to the pedagogical and artistic activities of individual lecturers of the department (I. Hutnyk, O. Zhirov, L. Tsvetkova, T. Churpita). The third group consists of the works that describe the functioning of the department fragmentarily in the context of multi-faceted research (T. Blahova and others). Modern scientific view of considering the activity of the department as an art-pedagogical school is used in a limited way, but it is promising for the comprehensive disclosure of the role of the department in the development of choreographic culture of Ukraine.

Стриймингът на сценични изкуства – необходимост или екстра: мнения на мениджъри на театрални организации

Author(s): Simona Nanova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2023

This study is an empirical part of a dissertation on the topic "The Streaming Model of Distribution in the Performing Arts", provoked by the increasing digitization of performing arts work and their presentation through streaming and live-streaming online. It analyzes this new distribution tool through the prism of the managers of selected theatre organizations in Bulgaria. Like any new and unexplored phenomenon, steaming raises concerns. It has been accused of contradicting live art and could destroy it. At the same time, streaming provides a real opportunity to reach larger number of audiences and extend the life of highly artistic performances that can no longer be performed on stage. For the purpose of this research, which is one of the first in Bulgaria, the author created an open-ended expert questionnaire aimed at managers of state, municipal and private theatre organizations. Their answers and opinions were analysed and conclusions were drawn as to whether this new distribution channel in the performing arts is cost effective, feasible and artistically safe. An answer is sought to the question whether this new business model is a necessity or whether it is more appropriate to define it as an additional service, an extra. The research is relevant and necessary. It is part of a larger analysis that compares the opinions of theatre managers on SI streaming with audience attitudes. Exploring both sides of the same process gives a more holistic picture of how closely the views of audiences match or are similar to the views of those who create and sell theatre productions.

Към „медийната археология“ на грамофона в България

Към „медийната археология“ на грамофона в България

Author(s): Ventsislav Dimov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 15/2024

The study on the music recorded and reproduced on commercial media places in the framework of the research interest the early recordings of military bands in Bulgaria, recorded and published by the Gramophone Company in the first decades of the twentieth century. The emphasis is on the role of gramophones and gramophone records in Bulgaria as functioning objects (advertisements from periodicals from the first decade of the 20th century, literary works and memoirs are analyzed), symbols (labels are analyzed). Starting from the general picture, the study focuses on the place of the army and professional musicians in early Bulgarian gramophone records, shown as fields of cultural production and habitus. The ratios of genre arrays in early recordings are described and analyzed: "folk" music (folk, potpourri), military music (marches), popular music (Western dance idioms), art music, sound pictures. The relationship of contexts with contents has been sought, bringing out some encounters in military band recordings of Western and local, modern and traditional, political and popular.

The proposed article examines the relationship between two institutions that normatively frame and manage sustainable practices of reproduction and modernization of folklore music in Bulgaria in the 21st century - a city festival for folk art and television media (and related digital platforms) that reflects it. The Folklore Sunrise Festival and Sunrise Music TV (Kiss M+) together create a vibrant "folk" scene that is socially and culturally significant, and attractive to communities connected to Bulgarian music-folk traditions.

Go woke, go broke? On black elves, anthropological perspective and critical approach to “culture wars”

Author(s): Tomasz Raczkowski / Language(s): English Issue: 23/2023

The text reflects on the issues of wokeness and culture wars in regard to mainstream cinema and its reception. Building on the author’s own ethnographical fieldwork within film industry, it addresses the question of desired anthropological approach to the discourse about representation in popular culture. The case of backlash against certain elements of popular fantasy live action series The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power and The Witcher is used by the author to argue for intersectional analysis rooted in economic perspective that exceeds identity-oriented, binary discursive setup, in search of more nuanced social knowledge, which is something that should constitute anthropological presence in public debate.

Author(s): Petia Alexandrova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 16/2024

The coverage of mega-spectacles is adequate to the scale of the events themselves: we are well informed in advance by the press releases bloated with facts and names. In this text, I pay attention to the cracks, when something veiled appears in the explanations and misleads in the expectations. There are three examples - the Broadway performance "The Little Prince", the "Hogwards" ice show of Cirque de Soleil and the concert performance "Chaplin Pianissimo".
