SEMIOTICA VESTIMENTAŢIEI(1) „LIMBAJUL MODEI”: ÎNSEMNE MONARHICE
The study focuses on the perspective of a millenary “agreement” between the costume and the monarch’s image, a pact that, in the case of Louis the 14th’s time, fascinated us. One of the vectors for rendering the monarch’s image was the costume, first conceived in the line of European clothing tradition in the court and then completed by elements of a “mise-en-scène” suited to the French classicism and absolutist monarchy. In all the times, the monarchic costume represented a way of communicating power and prestige.The first part of the study gives essential information from this epoch: the monarch’s image, life and work; the monarchic costume rendered by the “language of fashion” (structures: technical, iconic and verbal).
