This article presents a possible model for teaching 9th grade Literature material related to the Bible and the Old Bulgarian literature by applying the knowledge that the students have acquired during the Information Technology classes. The demonstration of the student presentations about famous Bulgarian monasteries favors the formation of teamwork skills, the creative usage of the Internet resources and the improvement of the knowledge connected with the subjects studied in 9th grade.

Conversation analysis is an interdisciplinary research programme assuming an innovative theoretical approach and unique methodology. The present article follows its origin in sociology in the 60’s and 70’s of the 20th century, its conceptual grounds and the factors of its formation and consequent development, its gradual and difficult confirmation and its broad application in the close humanities and even in natural sciences. This review outlines the points of contact between conversation analysis and its direct predecessor, ethnomethodology, situates conversation analysis in the field of discourse analysis and mentions its contribution to foreign language teaching.

Conversation analysis, or talk-in-interaction, takes into account the sociallayer and the internal organization of the interactive episode with a focus on the procedural basis of everyday life. The research tradition distinguishes some crucial aspects of conversation such as: action, structure and intersubjectivity. Their essence and characteristics are defined leaning on an original methodology, applied to samples of oral verbal communication in ordinary situations, and envisages a detailed study of transcriptions of the excerpted text.

За диалектното единство и един от опитите за прекодификация на българския език

The Bulgarian dialectаl language today, due to changes of an extra-linguistic nature, is found both inside and outside the state borders of the Republic of Bulgaria in the three historical geographic areas: Moesia, Thrace and Macedonia. Due to the impossibility for Bulgaria to achieve its national reunification in the twentieth century and due to the imposed emigration of the population in the past after various wars, the Bulgarian language has a record number of attempts for writing-regional codifications - six, one of them being the Vardar-Macedonian one.

Basic Requirements for Characteristics of the Korean Language e-Textbook

Rapid changes in the digital age making e-textbooks the key technical aid among electronic media are getting actively applied in education. A more specific image of the contemporary foreign language e-textbook is shaped by adding new characteristics to the list of the basic characteristics required. The article deals with determination of those characteristics of e-textbooks that will make their use more in demand for the study of languages, including Korean. The purpose of the article is to determine the main characteristics of a foreign language e-textbook as well as to analyze how they will reflect the specifics of the language in question and how exactly they will manifest themselves. The analytical study of e-textbook prototypes developed both practically and theoretically on the basis of criteria set for e-textbooks, the software being used and the research experience let the authors identify the mandatory minimum characteristics required for the foreign language e-textbook and compile the scheme for the distribution of the characteristics into groups. The results showed that the main requirement of a cross-cutting, primary nature for the entire set of e-textbooks under consideration is hyperconnectivity. The study allowed identifying linguodidactic and technological components of foreign language e-textbooks, as well as those of the Korean language e-textbook (a multimodal interactive dictionary) specifically, which are in a hyperconnected relationship with each other. Their introduction and implementation into specific software, a linguodidactic web constructor, will contribute to development of more sophisticated e-textbooks to be of high demand both among learners and teachers.

Speech Culture as a Component of Human Language Culture

The article contains an analysis of the normative, communicative and ethical aspects of the culture of speech, which make up the modern concept of the phenomenon under consideration. According to the author’s definition, the culture of speech, along with the culture of reading, the culture of working with text, information culture, constitutes the structure of the individual’s language culture. Considering the problem of classifying the styles of the English language, the author considers it appropriate to derive the constructs ‘language of fiction’ and ‘colloquial speech’ from the list of styles of the English language, identifying them as functional varieties of the language. In addition, taking into account the realities of modern society, the author proposes to expand the range of functions of speech communication through the function of forming one’s own image, the educational function, the function of adaptation to the conditions of speech interaction in the virtual world, etc.

Лингводидактологически симулации в часовете по чужд език

In this article, the object of interest is the linguodidactological simulations in the process of learning a foreign language. In the context of the leading modern trends in the field of research in private linguodidactology, an attempt is made to outline the figure of the foreign language teacher as a “methodical screenwriter” and the tasks he performs to optimize the mastery of communicative competence through the perspective of linguodidactology simulations. The methodology used is analysis of sources, observation of positive practices and modeling of techniques for transposition of a linguistic-communicative fragment of reality in the learning process of a foreign language. Based on an analysis of achievements in the field of theory and practice of interactive foreign language learning, guidelines are formulated for the development of various types of simulation activities for mastering the studied language, in which the learner acquires a leading role in the learning process. A model for a widely applicable linguistic didactic simulation in the conditions of active foreign language learning is proposed and the main activities that should be performed to achieve positive results from its application in the learning process are outlined.

Нова политическа фразеология в българската публична реч

This text explores the potential for updating the phraseological fund of the Bulgarian language in the Bulgarian public discourse and examines the influence of different types of updates on the specifics of the functioning of the given phraseological units in public speech. The most visible updates are those that clearly introduce new elements into the meaning of the original sustained phrase, but at the same time retain the obvious connection to the original language unit. Phraseological units, which are generally distinguished by semantic indivisibility, stability of their lexical composition, invariable structure, imagery, emotionality and expressiveness, are subject to dynamic changes occurring in Bulgarian language in recent years. We direct our interest to stable expressions, in the composition of which a new component appears as a manifestation of lexical dynamics, which replaces an already established one, or an additional element appears in the structure of a phraseology, i.e. our attention will be directed mainly to the so-called lexical updates of the phraseological fund. In the text, we trace the change (structural and semantic) in a number of phraseological units in the Bulgarian language, in which the entry of the lexical component kopeyka is observed. The excerpted material is from two corpora – CLASSLA-web.bg (Bulgarian web) and the corpus of parliamentary speech ParlaMint corpus: https://www.clarin.si/ske/#concordance. The examples extracted from the corpora are relevant for tracking the changes we are interested in in the phraseological fund of the modern Bulgarian language.

The Just-In-Time Approach Applied to E-Language Learning

From industry to teaching, being competent implies knowing how to do things in a complex, adaptable, and reflective way in a variety of contexts. It involves the integration of knowledge, procedures, attitudes, and values whose mastery and application change throughout life. Besides this idea of being adaptable, we want to add the “just-in-time approach” (JIT approach), which had a boom during the pandemic of COVID-19 and which focused on providing learners with the language skills and knowledge they needed at the precise moment they required to accomplish a specific task or communicate effectively in real-life situations. Unfortunately, it also proved that a generation gap existed between 20-year-old students and their teachers of older generations. Current officer cadets have not lived without mobile phones or the Internet which drastically have changed the way we communicate and had a significant impact on our lives. New technologies made communication more accessible and convenient with beloved ones, colleagues, and the conduct of business operations. Networking was not only advisable but a must and the pandemic proved how useful online teaching was and how well-adapted our cadets were. New technologies made it possible to access the Internet from anywhere, providing instant access to information, entertainment, and services.

This paper approaches the naming word order in Bulgarian dialects from different regions of the country and from Bessarabia. In these dialects, the family name is placed first, then the father’s name follows, and the given name stands at the end. The author supposes that this phenomenon has appeared in the Bulgarian dialects under Greek and Turkic influence.

This paper concentrates on the analysis and publication of personal names in the large Bulgarian village Dogan Hisar (Greek: Aisymi) in district Dedeagach (Western Thrace) culled from documents for 1906-1907. The data are taken from lists of the Bulgarian Exarchate dating from the early twentieth century. Statistical data on the age, education and employment of local Bulgarians are presented. A complete list of the population of the village of Dogan Hissar is provided.

The paper gives information on a medieval Slavonic translation of the Vita of St. Sabbas the Sanctified. A Middle Bulgarian copy of the translation (manuscript no. 226 of the 14th century, kept in Hilandar Monastery on Mount Athos) is edited with variant readings from two other copies: Hilandar 432 and Dragomirna 706.

CLOSENESS. INTERPRETATIVE POSITIONINGS ON THE IMMINENT IMPOSITIONS IN REPORTING TOWARDS THE SACRED

Through constantly-surprising breakthrough into the numinous space, the religious man follows his path towards the full experience of the sacred, thus positioning himself in a state of anticipation of the encounter with the numinous – therefore in a closeness toward the numinous as the Other. This closeness toward an imminence will in turn impose an interpretive reporting on both the context and the Other – therefore a positioning through an enunciation with the intention of preparing an understanding of these states. However, preparing this enunciation related to the future encounter with the numinous does not only mean building a space, but also orientation towards a sense. By orientation towards sense, it becomes necessary to build a statement that follows a dynamic composition of signs and senses through which the positioning – of oneself and towards the Other – becomes an enunciation with meaning.

THE LATIN-ROMANCE DIRECTION AND THE MODERNIZATION OF THE ROMANIAN LITERARY LANGUAGE IN THE 19TH CENTURY

The Latin-Romance direction and the modernization of the Romanian literary language in the 19th century are two essential aspects in the development of modern Romanian, reflecting both external influences and the need for modernization and standardization of the national language. The Latin-Romance direction was a cultural and linguistic movement that promoted a return to the Latin origins of the Romanian language, in the context of the development of national consciousness and Romanian cultural identity. This movement was supported by the intellectual and political elites of the time, who viewed Latinity as a foundation of Romanian national culture and as a link to Western Europe. The modernization of the language also involved the adoption of neological borrowings, with French being the most influential language in this process, mainly due to the cultural and political prestige of France during this period. Due to its cultural proximity and shared Latinity, Italian was another important source of borrowings, particularly in the fields of arts and literature.

THE MODERNISATION OF ROMANIAN GASTRONOMIC CULTURE IN THE 19TH CENTURY. CAȘCAVAL AND PARMEZAN: TWO GASTRONOMIC TERMS OF ITALIAN ORIGIN

In the evolution of Romanian civilization, the topic of gastronomy is not of particular interest among intellectuals, but, as Eugen Simion noted, writers – such as Costache Negruzzi and Mihail Kogălniceanu – were among the ones to ”display some sensitivity to what is called the gourmet discourse.” In this context, it is worth mentioning that Costache Negruzzi’s library included ”The Physiology of Taste”, written by Brillat – Savarin, whom Honoré de Balzac considered one of the great prose writers. Although gastronomy was not a fundamental dimension of his work, Kogălniceanu’s sensitivity to gastronomy is evident in many of his writings – elements of culinary art were incorporated both into his own lifestyle and the lives of his characters – and throughout his correspondence. In doing so, Kogălniceanu not only shaped the historical physiognomy of his era but also highlighted the refinement and good taste of certain social classes in mid-19th century Moldova.
