Sunt bibliotecile sustenabile în noua lume a științei deschise?

Sunt bibliotecile sustenabile în noua lume a științei deschise?

Author(s): Ivona Olariu / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 3/2022

The study regarding the behavior of researchers with respect to scientific literature analyses topics such as: the preference in obtaining electronic information, compared to the traditional way (printed), the preferred location when accessing electronic information (from within the university campus or from the outside), the type of preferred documents (book, scientific articles, conference proceedings etc), language preferences based on the user’s scientific profile. The respondents were invited to formulate requests of new services, for maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the digital documentation process, for increasing efficacy of access, search and refining of the information. We also investigated the knowledge stock regarding open science, Creative Commons licenses, article processing charge (APC), Plan S, the European regulations regarding open data, and continued with researching the acceptance level of switching from the pay-and-read model to the pay-and-publish model. Due to the fact that libraries are info-documentary entities directly involved in sustaining and promoting the new informational environment and the new publishing methods, the ways through which these objectives can be met were also analyzed, together with the roles of library and information science specialists in a world where terms such as online, electronic, digital define scientific documentation. The results of the study showed significant differences in the level of knowledge regarding the investigated concepts, as well as the need for involving university libraries in providing a suitable education for the acceptance of the new publishing methods.

Revizuiri și noi identificări din biblioteca mitropolitului Moldovei și Sucevei Iosif Naniescu

Author(s): Lăcrămioara Manea / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 2 Supp./2022

Iosif Naniescu (1818-1902) was appointed Metropolitan of Moldavia and Suceava on June 10, 1875, ruling until death. He built a huge library, considered one of the largest Moldavian libraries of the 19th century. From his lifetime, understanding the need for a large national library, Iosif Naniescu donated to the Romanian Academy rare Romanian and foreign books, precious manuscripts and documents from his archive, in 1884, 1888, 1892, 1894, 1895, 1900 and 1901. However, he made the most substantial donations since 1894, the Library of the Romanian Academy enlarging its collections with over 10,000 volumes. In the patrimony of the Eco-Museum Research Institute ”Gavrilă Simion” Tulcea, 44 volumes from the personal library of Metropolitan Iosif Naniescu come from the Library of the Romanian Academy (collection from 1978-1980). All these copies of the Romanian book, printed in 1800-1876, bear the stamp with the text «The Library of Iosif Naniescu Metropolitan of Moldavia and Suceava. Given to the Romanian Academy in 1894» and entered the Academy's collections with his donations in February-March 1894, which exceeded 3,000 books. In 2011, we published 34 titles of old and modern Romanian books, varied in content. Later we identified another 10 books with the ex-libris stamp mentioned above, an unpublished list that we introduced into the scientific circuit. We mention some of these books from Iosif Naniescu's library: Nicolae Mavrocordat, Filotheou Parerga, Vienna, 1800; Antioh Cantemir, Satire şi alte poetice compuneri (Satires and other Poetic Compositions), Iasi, 1844; Ion Heliade-Rădulescu, Vocabularu de vorbe streine în limba română (Vocabulary of Foreign Words in Romanian), Bucharest, 1847; Chateaubriand, Eventurile celui din urmă Abenseragiu (The Adventures of the Last Abencérage), Bucharest, 1852.The contributions to the knowledge of Metropolitan Iosif Naniescu’s library highlight the collector, the patriot, the theologist and the great Romanian Hierarch of Moldavia.

Stadiul procesului de digitizare în bibliotecile din România prin prisma rapoartelor de țară trimise în Europeana

Author(s): Ana-Maria Roman-Negoi / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 2 Supp./2022

Over time, the book has shaped consciousness and mentalities, claiming social, cultural, and national functions. Since the middle of the twentieth century, it has associated a new field, the medical field, the birth of a new word in the dictionary: bibliotherapy and even a direction of research in this regard. Equally, the book has associated an essential economic function, the formulas for editing the book, the costs, the destination, and the priority of the contents being aspects with fast dynamics. The twenty-first century is when the forms of presentation and transmission of knowledge through books have experienced the fastest evolution. Society's progress demanded new formulas and ways of extended access to knowledge, which set in motion an extensive process organised at the level of depository institutions. Furthermore, the book has become the subject of a cultural marketing architecture strategy, aiming to ensure quick access to information. In this sense, the digitisation of cultural and scientific values to preserve and transmit memory and identity, as a support for future research, is just one of the facets of these strategies, which is in full development in Romania. Furthermore, creating and publishing the results has moved in a new direction, publishing from the very beginning exclusively in digital format. This paper aims to present Romania's contributions to the most significant project to digitise collective memory in Europe, Europeana and how this project has influenced and encouraged similar actions in our country, culminating in perhaps the most anticipated launch in the digital environment scheduled for the end of 2021: Digital Library of Romania.

The question of the time when the National Library of Serbia was founded is one of the most complex questions in the field of studying the historical development of this important institution. This issue has been addressed by many researchers, who presented various assumptions and conclusions in their works. This review paper will present the development of subject research in the mentioned field, with a special focus on scientific and professional papers in which some specific issues were considered, related to the acquisition of the first books (1830), the arrangement of the book fund at the state printing house (1831), the establishment of a legal deposit, the establishment of a library in the bookshop of Gligorije Vozarović (1832) and the formation of a unified book fund at the Ministry of Education (1838). Attention will also be pointed out to the attitude of researchers towards the scientific review of two key issues, the first of which refers to the creation of book collections that with its gradual unification, the original book collection of the National Library was created, while the second refers to the institutional formation of the library institution itself.

Research in the Context of Knowledge

Author(s): Mihaela Aghenitei / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2022

The integrated ethical principle of economic research naturally focuses on development education and culture in a systemic, globalized sense, with respect for intellectual property the individual (internal and individual ethics of the researcher, proven more and more today by the importance given to plagiarism) and the creative valorization of individuality and honesty in teams (external ethics viewed as an intersection of the probity of the entire team, manifested both on the principle of reciprocity of team members, but also on the principle of subordination to the project of whole team research).

INNOVATIVENESS AND MODERN TRENDS IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND LIBRARIES AS UNITS OF THEIR STRUCTURE

Author(s): Ladin Gostimirović,Slavica Gostimirović / Language(s): English Issue: 4/2022

Innovations are present in all fields of human activity. Therefore, they are an indispensable segment of the activities of higher-educational institutions which are going through a very demanding process of development towards future forms of educational, scientific and research work. Higher education activities imply a continuous monitoring of innovations, and their application in the educational process. The aforementioned activities are also related to the academic library, which is an unavoidable factor in the process of carrying out scientific and educational work, and is, unlike the public library, closely related to innovative processes in education and the performance of scientific activities. Using innovative methods and solutions, along with transformational processes, the library must satisfy its users with knowledgeable staff, who are ready to answer questions and meet the challenges of increasingly demanding modern users. For this reason, employees in higher education libraries are obliged to continuously improve their level of education, and to constantly keep up with modern trends, with a particular emphasis on respecting what is prescribed by the principles of the code of ethics and the legal regulations in the field of library work, as well as in the field of activities of higher-educational institutions and the protection of intellectual property. In order for this entire process to be implemented, the management of these institutions must invest all their effort and knowledge into reaching their goals through efficient organisation and a strategy that will lead to a high quality of service and a competitive advantage in this market.

Study of the Behavior and the Mechanical Properties of Adhesively Bonded Polymer Matrix Composites Under Mechanical Loading

Study of the Behavior and the Mechanical Properties of Adhesively Bonded Polymer Matrix Composites Under Mechanical Loading

Author(s): Daniela Spasova,Yaroslav Argirov,Plamen Petrov,Tatyana Mechkarova / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2023

Glass fiber reinforced Polymer matrix composites (PMCs) have a complex set of properties - high specific strength and hardness, good corrosion and chemical resistance, and most of all low relative weight, making them the preferred material over metallic materials in a number of industries (aircraft, boat building, renewable energy facilities and many others). The main aim set in the present work was reduced to the obtaining of PMCs made by adhesive bonding of two composites with a matrix of different types of resin (vinyl ester and epoxy) and the study of their behaviour in determining their mechanical properties. The studies were carried out with four types of adhesively bonded PMCs made in the form of laminates produced from a combination of three types of resin (two types of vinyl ester and one type of epoxy resin) and reinforced with biaxial fiberglass. The aim is to combine the lack of shrinkage of the epoxy resin with the better mechanical properties and better productivity of the vinyl ester resin. An analysis to determine shear strength, tensile strength and bending strength of the investigated composites was made. A macrostructural fractographic analysis to investigate the material behaviour under mechanical loads was carried out.
