The aim of the research was to determine the significance of family and personal determinants of school achievements, the indicator of which was the school grades of students. It was expected to answer the question what factors explain the school achievements of adolescent students. It was expected that students 'resilience, perceived and received support, open communication and communication with peers' difficulties would be differently, in groups distinguished by gender, to co-decide about school achievements of young people. Taking up the problem seems to be important for the development of the theory of social psychology of education and pedagogy. The study tried to show that changes related to support from grandparents and mental resilience can have a positive impact on the academic performance of adolescents. Research conducted using the Resilience Measurement Scale (SPP-18) (Ogińska-Bulik, Juczyński, 2011), Berlin Social Support Scales (BSSS) (Łuszczyńska, Kowalska, Mazurkiewicz, Schwarzer, 2002) and the Adolescent-Peer Communication Scale (SKAR) (Napora, 2019) on a sample of 190 students. Results showed that girls obtained a statistically significantly higher average school grade than boys. Moreover, significant relationships were found between the average grade point and resilience as well as perceived support and support received from grandparents. As a result, it can be concluded that age, gender and resilience make it possible to significantly explain the variability in school achievement of adolescent students. The obtained results may constitute a scientific basis for developing optimal methods of helping students to prevent their social marginalization. The results can be an important recommendation for professionals dealing with both families and the school environment, and collaboration between these environments can be key to a student's success.

The monograph proposes viewing classification as not only a cognitive process that organizes knowledge, but also one that promotes the dynamic development of science: initiating new directions, concepts, branches of science, trends, sub-disciplines, etc. In structured knowledge it is easier to detect places yet unmarked in science. Thus the object of the presented research is the significance of ordering the scientific knowledge in the form of classification in the field of social sciences, in the discipline of pedagogy. Methodological resources of hermeneutics proved to be useful in analysis and interpretation of scientific source texts and official documents. The structure of the monograph consists of the table of contents, introduction, four chapters, conclusion, bibliography, list of diagrams and tables, personal index, summary and note about the authors.

The key factor in the field of education is the acquisition of the language in education by which we mean the formal register different from spoken language. It is characterised by a higher level of conceptual literacy and by specialised vocabulary. It differs from technical language by being accessible to all the participants of school education. In order to realise speech acts in the context of the language of instruction (both in their mother tongue and in a foreign language) pupils have to acquire specialised vocabulary and functional language. The present publication is the outcome of a two-year bilateral project between University College of Teacher Education in Vienna and The Department of German Language at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University. The concept of the language of instruction is described and a set of observation forms is provided for teachers of various subjects both from Austria and the Czech Republic to allow them determine the level of the language of instruction in their pupils. In addition, sample teaching scenarios are provided for the innovation of teaching aimed at fostering the language of instruction.

The book presents contemporary Polish education and Polish education abroad in two parts. The first presents the current state of this type of education from several perspectives, which allows us to assess and grasp its various possibilities. It is something of a guide for discovering and navigating the current Polish educational space abroad. The second part presents the unprecedented phenomenon of broad cooperation and exchange of experiences that emerged between Polish educational circles from all over the world as a result of the pandemic. The aim of this paper is to show Polish communities from all over the world the contemporary possibilities and dynamics seen in the development of Polish education abroad. Moreover, it seeks to demonstrate how and in what way the events related to the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the need to unite forces and act creatively in the educational space, despite the many difficulties and often dramatic consequences of that pandemic. The book is addressed to a wide range of educators, educationalists, form teachers, and parents, in fact, to all those with a particularly affinity to the value of multidirectional cooperation and involvement in the education of children and young people. The book raises awareness of the importance of Polish education abroad as a unique space that is perceived and evaluated in a special way, not only by its direct participants but also by the entire Polish expat community. This is because it creates the conditions for Polish civil society abroad to be organised in a creative way.

The book focuses on the topic of language content of textbooks of French as a foreign language teaching. After a theoretical background, three investigations are presented. The research aim was to investigate the correspondence between grammar, vocabulary and language functions intended to be acquired and the reference level of language proficiency A1. The quantitative analysis focusing on language content of textbooks indicated some common features with similar qualitative studies carried out in France, Germany and Great Britain. For all analysed textbooks, the language content intended to be acquired revealed lot of overlaps of the reference level of language proficiency A1, which may increase the cognitive complexity of tasks.

V roce 2013 se postupně začala formovat magisterská studijní profilace Technologie ve vzdělávání, která původně reflektovala tři významné body. Téma EdTechu jako něco, co se začalo formovat jako významný bod v informační vědě a postupně přesahovalo do knihovnictví, což je linka, kterou se snažíme do dnešního dne držet, jakkoli konkrétní obsahy i kulisy se do značné míry vyměnily. Druhou motivací byla snaha využít zkušenosti z online vzdělávání, které bylo v té době na KISKu již silným a zajímavým tématem, kterému se na praktické úrovni věnovala dlouhodobá pozornost. Třetím motorem, který utvářel tvář profilace, byla záliba v technologiích. Od začátku věříme, že není možné o technologiích ve vzdělávání mluvit, aniž by student i vyučující měli jasnou hmatatelnou zkušenost. Bez této zkušenosti je i snaha o to „dělat vědu“ jen deskripcí bez schopnosti autentického a smysluplného tázání, tedy nesmyslnou činností.

The book entitled Social pedagogy comprises pedagogical knowledge, which is related to the complex phenomenon of social pedagogy. This knowledge is presented through scientific descriptions and possible theoretical interpretations. The main objective of the book is to convey indispensable professional information on the preparation for general pedagogical and social pedagogical work, to offer essential and general criteria and proper theoretical preparation for exigent and effective pedagogical work. The author has chosen form the vast problem of social pedagogy only those essential and comprehensive themes that belong either to the general pedagogical education, or to the specific domain of social pedagogy, and which are indispensable for any educator as well as for successful practice of the social pedagogical profession. An important factor in the choice of the themes presented was the distinctiveness of social pedagogical work and the necessity of establishing the theoretical foundation of this profession, furthermore the configuration of the socio-pedagogical language and the conception of the educators. The book presents 19 great thematic blocks in 19 chapters, and it comprehensively reviews ─ through 150 specific problems ─ the contemporary pedagogical and social pedagogical thoughts, concepts, theories and research results. In the first chapter, the book presents education as basic social activity and in the second chapter it talks about the social character of human personality. In the third and fifth chapters, the book construes the criteria of human evolution, the questions of the development of personality and the personality developing feature of education. The next three chapters are dedicated to social development, anti-drug education and to the pedagogical problems of school classes. Chapters nr. 9 and 10 are dedicated to the detailed and deep analysis of social pedagogical work. In chapters 11-16 the book presents important issues of social learning, pedagogical conflicts, children's rights, corporal punishment, specific social pedagogical themes and the essential aspects of non-verbal communication. Chapters' no. 17 and 18 are dedicated to the endangered and underprivileged children, and their education, and to children with different problems in the school. The last chapter discusses the complex problem of pedagogical guidance. Through the ideas, conceptions, reflections, argumentations, illustrative and applicative efforts presented in the book the reader (no matter if he/she is a student or an educator) may find several new solutions for many questions emerging from the field of social pedagogy.

The textbook raises the issues of the field of sports pedagogy aimed at deepening the basic knowledge in this subject, useful especially for students of social and medical sciences, with particular emphasis on pedagogical and physical education departments specialties. The content of the first edition of the textbook referred to the issues of sports pedagogy in the context of its historical, socio-cultural, social rehabilitation and ethical conditions as well as the importance of the idea of Olympism and the principle of fair play in sport and social life. Consequently, the second edition of the textbook, developed by the author and his associates from the Center for Education of Sport Pedagogues at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Lodz, has been improved with the subjects related to the perspective of the historical development of sport in the context of changes in the environment of Lodz, the role of the trainer as a teacher / educator in the process of sports training, the social value of women's participation in sports activities, the health-related contexts of physical effort as well as its impact on the human body, and the social need for education enabling better understanding of sports events. The second edition of the textbook, extended with the indicated topics, will probably allow students to better understand the meaning of sport in the social space, with particular emphasis on its pedagogical values.

The purpose of the study is to diagnose the importance of social media for self-esteem, modes of online self-presentation and body image behavior of young adults. The monograph presents the research results which confirm that, among other things, for about 30-40% of young adults, social media are a space that significantly affects attitudes toward their own bodies. This is because they constitute a space for creating one’s own image, a source of motivation to engage in behaviors aimed at improving body image and taking care of one’s appearance, but also a space for social comparisons relating to one’s body image. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of forming a strong “bodily self” and an internal locus of control, the need for prevention of disorders related to body image disorders, psychoeducational interventions and the role of health education in the context of the research issue undertaken in the study.

What is graded assessment of pupils' conduct in schools, and what is it for? Is it necessary? Can it support students' development? Many teachers, students and parents pose these questions. As teachers, we have spent many years searching for the sense in graded assessment of pupils' conduct, as well as for alternatives to commonly used scoring systems and descriptive grades. The book describes the change (and maybe even a revolution) that we have decided on. Moving within the limits of educational law, we gave up "grading pupils' conduct" in favour of fostering a school atmosphere conducive to students’ self-reflection. We present three models for graded assessments of pupils' conduct. In our models, behaviour assessment is a year-round process supporting students in achieving self-knowledge, shaping social and emotional competencies, celebrating success, drawing conclusions from their stumbles, and appreciating the effort put into self-development.

Dragi nastavnici i nastavnice, publikacija koju držite u rukama rezultat je zajedničkog rada grupe entuzijastičnih nastavnika razredne nastave Kantona Sarajevo i P4C trenerica TPO fondacije. Priručnik Filozofija za djecu (P4C) u osnovnim školama nastao je kao dio projekta, Program Filozofije za djecu kroz integraciju s kurikularnom reformom i aktivnostima Instituta za razvoj preduniverzitetskog obrazovanja KS, a koji TPO fondacija od 2021. godine realizira u partnerstvu s Ministarstvom za odgoj i obrazovanje Kantona Sarajevo. Svrha ovog priručnika jeste ponuditi nastavnicama razredne nastave inovativni program rada odjeljenske zajednice prema P4C metodi rada, te scenarije za realizaciju ovog programa kao poticaj za razvijanje njihove nastavničke kreativnosti. U uvodnom dijelu priručnika, Elmana Cerić, međunarodno certificirana P4C trenerica, daje kratki teorijski osvrt na obrazovne potencijale filozofije za djecu (P4C) u Bosni i Hercegovini, ali i svijetu. Projekt Program Filozofije za djecu kroz integraciju s kurikularnom reformom i aktivnostima Instituta za razvoj preduniverzitetskog obrazovanja KS sastoji se od tri faze, od kojih je faza I realizirana u šk. 2021/22. godini, a odnosila se na planiranje i realiziranje obuke koju su prošli nastavnici razredne nastave, a u organizaciji TPO fondacije i MOO KS. Edukacija nastavnika sastojala se iz teorijskog i praktičnog dijela, odnosno iz četiri modula u trajanju od po dva dana. U avgustu 2022. godine certificirano je 26 nastavnika razredne nastave Kantona Sarajevo za provođenje programa filozofije za djecu u školama, kao i za izvođenje P4C treninga za nastavnike. U fazi II projekta, program Filozofije za djecu integriran je s kurikularnom reformom i aktivnostima Instituta za razvoj preduniverzitetskog obrazovanja Kantona Sarajevo. U ovoj fazi projekta izrađen je okvirni P4C program za rad OZ, a TPO fondacija u saradnji s nastavnicima polaznicima obuke radila je na izradi prilagođenih didaktičko-metodičkih materijala za nastavnike i implementaciju programa filozofije za djecu u IV razredu kroz sate OZ u šk. 2022/23. godini. U fazi III ovog projekta, u organizaciji Instituta za razvoj preduniverzitetskog obrazovanja Kantona Sarajevo i TPO fondacije, realizirani su replikacioni P4C treninzi od dva modula za više od 100 nastavnika razredne nastave u Kantonu Sarajevo. Trenige su izvodili nastavnici/mentori koji su prošli obuku od četiri modula i certificirani su P4C treneri.
