Increasing Self-Confidence in Students from Different Universities through Exercises in Body Technique and Dance Therapy

Increasing Self-Confidence in Students from Different Universities through Exercises in Body Technique and Dance Therapy

Author(s): Vlad Teodor Grosu,Hanna Vari,Mircea-Nicolae Ordean,Gheorghe Balint,Radu Adrian Rozsnyai,Emilia Florina Grosu / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

Objectives of this article refer to ways to increase self-confidence in students from different universities in Transylvania manifested by the values of self-depreciation, infatuation and self-esteem. These are realized through the use of complex exercises on music in the form of dance-therapy and body technique.Purpose: elaboration of an action strategy to modify the self-depreciation, self-esteem, infatuation.Hypothesis: by introducing the exercises of body technique and dance-therapy, the aim is to modify the components of the ASSI psychological test: self-depreciation, infatuation and self-esteemMaterial and Methods: statistical processing was performed with the program Stats Direct v.2.7.2. The graphical representation of the results was done with the Excel application (from the Microsoft Office 2010 package). The tests used are: ASSI and an intervention program based on exercises in body technique and dance therapy. The subjects participating in the experiment with a duration of 6 months by 200 students at the Technical University Cluj-Napoca, and the extension from Baia-Mare and from the Academy of Music "Gheorghe Dima" from Cluj-Napoca.The period: of development was between October 2019 and March 2020.The results: of this study are due to the intervention program through exercises in body technique and dance therapy performed by the experimental group compared to the control group. In the case of A-SN it is a good correlation but of the opposite direction, which means that if (A) self-depreciation decreases then (SN) self-esteem increases. In the case of I-SN it is an acceptable correlation and of the same meaning, which means that if (I) the infatuation increases and (SN) the self-esteem increases, were observed statistically significantly significant differences between the two times (p <0.001).Conclusions: Statistically significant differences were observed in the indicators of the ASSI tests (self-depreciation, self-esteem, infatuation) which indicates, that our intervention program in the preliminary study had a positive and measurable impact on students in terms of improving self-depreciation and infatuation, as well as increasing self-esteem.

Author(s): Angela Lisnic,Nadejda Scobioală / Language(s): Romanian Publication Year: 0

School Market and the Educational Institutions in Transylvania, Partium and Banat between 1919 and 1948

Author(s): Attila Gidó / Language(s): English

This paper proposes to offer the statistical presentation of the transylvanian educational system and culture-generating institutions between 1918 and 1948, relying primarily on the hitherto published statistical summaries, censuses, annals, and studies, without carrying out any fundamental research or analysis. The paper fits into the first phase of a larger European comparative research project supported by the European Research Council. The documentation needed for the detailed analyses in the second phase is collected by other colleagues working on this research. Hopefully, their findings will be published in the near future.

Audit Culture and the Making of a “Gypsy School”. Financing Policies, Curricula, Testing and Educational Inequalities in a Romanian Town

Author(s): Zsuzsa Plainer / Language(s): English

However segregation and discrimination are very important factors that block access of Roma to quality education, there are a series of less visible phenomena also responsible for school inequalities. Aim of this paper is to understand how some of these sophisticatedly linked factors lead to the making of a "Gypsy school" in a Romanian town, a school with low educational performance and bad fame. In doing so, the notion of audit culture is introduced, understood as a set of culturally mediated norms and practices of ranking. As this approach comes into sight, one may understand how - despite the commitment shown by the Romanian policy-makers to facilitate school integration of the Roma - a series of regulations unwittingly obstruct this aim. As it is revealed below, the framing of the national financing policies may involuntarily lead to tracking the Roma children into certain schools, where - in lack of a variety of teaching materials, refined testing and a clear system of rewarding the teacher's performance - quality education becomes a hard-to-reach target. The contextuality of the bad label of a "Gypsy school" is also relevant in this research as it is either a resource, or a stigma depending of the situation.

EDUCAȚIE, NAȚIUNE ȘI CREZ RELIGIOS LA SIMION MEHEDINȚI

EDUCAȚIE, NAȚIUNE ȘI CREZ RELIGIOS LA SIMION MEHEDINȚI

Author(s): Alin Albu / Language(s): Romanian Publication Year: 0

Simion Mehedinți was a pioneer of Romanian science and culture in the first half of the twentieth century – when he militated for national renewal through education and culture in a Christian spirit; he was also a reformer of the Romanian educational system, but also a genuine Christian educator. As a researcher, he highlighted the educational value of science, professing himself a science out of conviction. His pedagogical conception contains two special nuances – the Christian one and its application to one’s own ethnic space – and he introduces the concept the school of work, as area and instrument of modeling the student’s character. In his ethnographic approaches we discover the recovering and pedagogical function of history and in the analysis of Romanian Christianity those valences which can be considered modern and democratic today.

INNOVATION IN EDUCATION

INNOVATION IN EDUCATION

Author(s): Anamaria Popescu / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

The innovation process is a complex activity of creating, developing, using and disseminating modern or modernized innovations (theories, methods, technologies, etc.). This is the process of transforming scientific knowledge into innovation, the process of constantly transforming an idea into a product, technology or service. The goal of the innovative processes is the development of the school as a pedagogical system and special social organization, the achievement of qualitatively new higher educational results and the increase of the competitiveness of educational institutions. This process is motivated, intentional, conscious, aiming to transfer the education system to a new qualitative state, in a way of development. This article addresses the issue of innovation in education, which is a superior, primary product of pedagogical creativity, validated by its originality and confirmed relevance at the social level, at the scale of the educational system and process. The article carries out an analytical review of the field of educational innovation. The situation of innovation in the education system is evaluated, how much it means reform of the system and how much innovation, but also how innovation can be stimulated in the education system. Innovation in education encourages teachers and learners to explore, research and apply all tools to discover something new. Innovation is an essential component for many economic, social and technical fields, and education is no exception to this.

The Impact of the Conflict in Ukraine on the Development of the Higher University Military Education Process – Adapting Maritime Operational Art to the Dynamics of Modern Military Actions

The Impact of the Conflict in Ukraine on the Development of the Higher University Military Education Process – Adapting Maritime Operational Art to the Dynamics of Modern Military Actions

Author(s): Lucian Valeriu SCIPANOV / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

Observing the evolution of military actions in the Ukraine conflict, one feels the need to capitalise on the lessons identified as a result of the innovative ways of applying the principles of military art, in the conditions of real war. Thus, within this approach, I set out to identify how the evolution of the conflict in Ukraine influenced military art in general. In essence, this approach is a corollary of the results obtained as a personal contribution to the development of knowledge in the field of military sciences. Analysing the existing situation, following evaluations of the potential national response capabilities in the event of an armed conflict in the vicinity of the Black Sea, I identified didactic ways to update the doctrinal contents. The didactic approach was based on the handiest research validation tool, the war game, by testing some tactical scenarios, experienced in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. From a didactic point of view, the result was useful for updating the analytical programs in the master’s degree programs, however, the benefit from this research comes from the action-structural field, regarding the ways of responding in the maritime environment with existing capabilities or identifying the capability requirements, emphasising the importance of military services and branches cooperation during the joint coastal defence operation.
