THE EFFICIENCY OF APPLICATION OF VARIOUS MODELS SUCH AS BLENDED LEARNING, FLIPPED LEARNING, CASE METHOD IN A PROFESSIONAL SPHERE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

The article explores the strengths and limitations of blended learning, flipped learning and case method. The purpose of our study is to identify the efficiency of application of such approaches in a professional sphere in foreign language teaching. The methodology of this study involves the scientific method of analysis. Today, technology has impacted all fields of society: science, media and social interactions, and above all education. In the field of foreign language education, the influence of cutting-edge technology appears to be more crucial. Nowadays traditional classroom doesn`t suit the students who are no longer interested in print textbooks. Moreover, teachers must find ways to apply effectively information and communication technologies in the learning process. One of the ways is the concept of blended learning. It implies the optimal combination of traditional pedagogical technologies and distance, online learning. It encourages: access to knowledge; social interaction; cost effectiveness and ease of revision; increased access and flexibility; an increased cost and effectiveness. Another trend is flipped learning. It is an instructional approach in which instruction occurs in advance and classroom time is maximized. The effectiveness of such approaches is clear. The authors consider it indisputable that blended learning, flipped learning and case method should be used to some extent for students of all majors.

Foundation Year of Romanian as a Foreign Language – from culture shock to cultural adaptation

In an extremely volatile society, experiencing extremely drastic situations, which involve not only medical situations that forced people to struggle with long periods of isolation and lack of communication, but also military conflicts, which sometimes are closer to our national borders than we would have expected. All these aspects sometimes force people to try to pursue a professional career in a different part of the world, as it happens with many people from the Middle Eastern countries, from the Palestinian territories, to Iran, Turkey or Ukraine.In these conflicting situations, we could observe an increase in the number of international students applying for Romanian language studies, and a larger number of applicants for the Foundation year of Romanian as a foreign language. Yet, the challenge of coping with such a diverse community of students, that need a longer period of adaptation than in the past, becomes a real challenge for the language professors who are forced to become culture accommodators for the group of students.In what way can we help them, what is the cultural training necessary, so that the immersion into the new language becomes faster and more efficient is the purpose of this present study.

The quality of education is a priority for the university so the importance of ethics and integrity for the optimization of the teaching process allows me to experiment skills and improve the services that I offer, giving the students a better education. The students are the centre of the university universe. Thus, I, as professor, need to consider the expectations students have. So, through my daily activities, I commit to stimulate each student, from an intellectual, emotional, social perspective, supporting the values and the objective of the institution I work for.

Dimensiunea pedagogică din perspectiva unei pandemii: metoda „flipped classroom” în predarea L1 și L2

During the period 2020-2021, the general educational context, besides other fields of activity, had a specific character, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It forced us all, teachers and students, to make supplementary efforts in order to reach the main teaching and learning objectives. Thus, we consider that the teachers should accept the challenge represented by this particular situation and make use of methods that help diversification of the class, making the subject more accessible and also helps maintaining the students’ focus on the subject. One of these methods is the “flipped classroom”, whose positive results have been proven by previous studies. Thus, the present paper focuses on presenting the concept in detail, being considered of a real help, especially in the unprecedented context in which we are, encouraging its application during the Romanian language classes.

Nepočujúci, posunkový jazyk a kultúra Nepočujúcich ako neoddeliteľná súčasť kultúry majority v európskom priestore

Sign language is an integral part of the pedagogy of the hearing impaired, but other scientific disciplines are also devoted to it Deaf Studies, which has no tradition in our country. Its acceptance and use are implemented in international and national documents in the field of education, culture, and social affairs. Sign language also plays an important role in the identification of people with hearing impairment, and the current division into deaf people with capital N (Deaf) and deaf people with small n (deaf) is no longer satisfactory. The wider society’s awareness of bimodal bilingualism, the specifics of the Deaf community and culture, can contribute to positive changes in the perception of them, within the framework of social inclusion. The presented information is also part of the culture of the Slovak Republic, a wider awareness of the majority is needed.

Średniowieczne akcenty w traktacie De institutione regii pueri

De institutione regii pueri is a pedagogical treatise from 1502/1503, which contains a wealth of ideas. Since medieval accents are not observed therein for the most part, the topic of the article is to indicate them. This goal is even more justified because some of them, such as recommendations for ruler’s Christian upbringing – in accordance with specific virtues, Augustine’s thinking about time, the topos of youth and old age and a cheerful face, the category of one’s own and foreign or the emphasis of some of the values cultivated in the Middle Ages, cardinal virtues, are very noticeable in the work. The turn of the eras, in turn, is indicated by a certainly unidentified author’s free combination of old and new beliefs, e.g. the influence of the Christian God and pagan deities as the causative forces in human actions on the fate of rulers. The analysis of the work requires emphasizing an obvious, although sometimes neglected, belief that some views, probably in a changed form, continued from antiquity to the Renaissance, although sometimes they were denied the right to function in the medieval reality.

Historically, leadership has been developing for centuries. Since antiquity, the position of the leader in public life has been considered, which inevitably reflects in the various philosophies of education. Great historical figures and philosophers formed concepts and theories about leadership, which has an impact on all of humanity. All these factors characterize the image of a leader and the qualities that he needs to have. The present study aims to create a snapshot picture of the presence of different components for the manifestation of leadership qualities among students in grades 1-4. The task is to summarize how the stages of development of the leader-student develop, through the transition from an individual, to a person, and from there to a leader. The survey included 4th grade students from different educational institutions, which are located in different characteristics. Through the constructed questionnaire, different levels of development of the virtues, inner strengths and qualities of students, which are formative components of leadership competence, are established. As a result of the consultation, it was established that students from the primary stage of primary education have a good level of development of virtues in themselves. This is the first step towards the formation of effective leadership skills. It is necessary to focus methodological approaches not only on achieving educational goals, which respectively support the possession of virtues, but also to create such practices that will further develop the inner strength and leadership qualities of students in grades 1-4.

The article focuses on social skills and presents the results of a scientific study showing the degree of their formation in preschool children. An innovative method for the Bulgarian educational system is proposed as the basis for developing social skills, namely the team task. The research aims to determine what effect the teamwork method has on children's social competence, including cooperation, communication, empathy and conflict resolution skills. A combination of qualitative and quantitative methods were used, which provide a complete picture of the effectiveness of teamwork for the formation of social skills: observation, interviews, surveys, tests for the assessment of social skills, document analysis. The diagnostic procedure was developed and conducted in connection with the acquisition of a second qualification degree.

In the 13th century history of our country, there are holidays that we associate with great events. The Day of the National Awakeners, November 1st, is one of these holidays, although we do not associate it only with a specific event. It occupies a worthy place in the holiday calendar of Bulgarians. Many people believe that only our revivalists and writers can be called “awakeners”, but for me this concept is broader. In addition to the educators who worked in school and cultural institutions in the past, I also include: modern teachers who teach knowledge to adolescents; creators of books and textbooks; cultural figures who, with their potential, create music, dances, poetic and prose works; all people who today help to preserve and develop education and culture.

Življenje in delo tiflopedagoginje Vilme Kralj

The Slovenian Institute and School for the Blind operated in the town of Kočevje on the Rinža River from 1922 to 1944, when it moved back to Ljubljana. In addition to Bogomira Dobovšek, Iva Vivod – Pregelj, Teja Janežič and Franica Vrhunc, the circle of experienced typhlopedagogues at the Kočevje and Ljubljana institutes for the blind also included Vilma Kralj. At the Kočevje institute, she first took over the afternoon remedial classes on handicraft, Slovenian language, and physical education. After passing her professional examination, she became a qualified teacher. After the institute moved to Ljubljana, she was appointed a delegate of the national government at the Ljubljana Institute for the Blind in May 1945 and its head teacher in October of that year. In the following year, she took over the management of Zavod za slepo mladino [Institute for Blind Youth] in Portorož. In 1947, she moved with the children to the Ljubljana institute for the blind, where she worked as a teacher until her retirement in 1966. This article discusses her life and work, which she devoted to pedagogical work with children and adolescents with vision impairment. She also made a name for herself as a successful cultural and educational worker and author of several textbooks, technical articles, and lectures.

Kresy Wschodnie II RP kulturowym fundamentem biografii oraz duszpastersko-pedagogicznej i społecznej misji ks. Henryka Nowika (XX–XXI w.)

Artykuł dotyczy ks. dr. Henryka Nowika urodzonego w 1933 r., w polskiej rodzinie religijnej i patriotycznej. Najpierw ministrant, w 1951 r. przyjęty do Wyższego Seminarium Duchownego w Gorzowie Wielkopolskim, w 1957 r. przyjął święcenia kapłańskie. W 1958 r. podjął studia filozoficzne na Katolickim Uniwersytecie Lubelskim. W 1966 r. uzyskał stopień naukowy doktora filozofii. Pełniąc funkcję proboszcza, prowadził działalność społeczno-patriotyczną. Na gruncie duszpastersko-wychowawczym: kapłańskim, społeczno-politycznym, jako kapelan, brał udział w protestach robotników polskich, był doradcą i kapelanem chłopów, inspirował obronę życia poczętego, duszpasterstwo pątnicze rolników. Ks. Nowik, „arystokrata ducha”, wrażliwy moralnie człowiek, uczony (teolog, biolog, filozof, pedagog), asceta, człowiek ducha modlitwy. Ukryta osobowość mistyczna, odznaczająca się nieczęsto spotykaną kulturą intelektualną i moralną. Zaangażowany w prace na rzecz „Ojczyzny”, Kościoła katolickiego, człowieka i społeczeństwa. Mimo ofensywy dyktatury relatywizmu w XX i XXI w. zaangażował do działalności kulturotwórczej setki oddanych Ojczyźnie i Kościołowi Polaków, w tym młodzież akademicką”. Dlatego w opinii społeczności Dolnego Śląska jest wzorem kapłana, podobnym do śp. Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego, wielką osobowością, spowiednikiem i duszpasterzem-wychowawcą, krzewicielem historycznego ethosu Kresów Wschodnich i Zachodnich, patriotą, kontynuatorem i współtwórcą polskiej kultury narodowej, a przy tym wybitnym społecznikiem, godnym naśladowania przez ludzi świeckich i duchownych.

Kategoria mitu w narracji Konstantego Michalskiego CM (1879–1947) o dziejach Europy pierwszej połowy XX w.

Obecność kategorii mitu w twórczości ks. Konstantego Michalskiego obecna jest w dwóch wymiarach. Pierwszy ma miejsce w uprawianej przez niego filozofii dziejów i opisie dziejów mitu niemieckiego narodowego socjalizmu. Drugi wymiar to wkład w rozwój teoretycznych podstaw kategorii mitu, w tworzenie jej struktury (wyłonienie podstawowych elementów). Koncepcja ta wyłania się na kanwie krytycznych analiz nazizmu, polemiki z jego twórcami oraz z odniesieniami do wychowania jako obszaru wdrażania w życie społeczne mitu totalitarnej ideologii. Nieodłączną kwestię narracji o micie nazizmu są biograficzne konteksty jej autora. Michalski jako humanista, wychowanek niemieckiej szkoły podstawowej brutalnie germanizującej polskie dzieci, później więzień obozu w Sachsenhausen, zadaje sobie obowiązek śledzenia, analizowania i komentowania zmian kulturowych i ich uwarunkowań: mitów w postaci totalitaryzmów, ale także wielkich, konstruktywnych mitów kultury. Szczególnym przykładem jest mit kultury katolickiej, jako propozycja mitu polskiego, mitu na (prze)trwanie komunizmu.

Teodor Iljaszewicz (1910–1948) – między biografią poety i działacza narodowego a pedagoga

Postać Teodora Iljaszewicza na trwale wpisała się w historię literatury białoruskiej i białoruskiego ruchu narodowego, szczególnie poczynając od lat 90. XX w., gdy powstała niepodległa Republika Białoruś. Jego nazwisko znalazło się w encyklopediach i słownikach biograficznych. Przedstawia się go jako białoruskiego poetę, prozaika, historyka, dziennikarza i działacza społeczno-kulturalnego. Pomija się zaś jego podstawowy zawód nauczyciela i pedagoga, który był dla niego nie tylko źródłem utrzymania, ale też pasją i powołaniem. Jego działalność w dziedzinie oświaty białoruskiej – zarówno pedagogiczna, jak i organizacyjna zasługują na odrębne zainteresowanie. Po ukończeniu studiów bowiem poświęcił się jej bezgranicznie. Bez względu na okoliczności starał się kształcić młodzież białoruską w języku ojczystym. W II Rzeczypospolitej w latach 1934-1937 uczył języka białoruskiego w Wileńskim Gimnazjum Białoruskim i w Prawosławnym Seminarium Duchownym w Wilnie. W latach 1939-1941 oraz 1941-1944 organizował szkolnictwo białoruskie na Białostocczyźnie, a w latach 1944-1948 w warunkach emigracji w powojennych Niemczech uczył dzieci i młodzież, wydawał podręczniki, organizował skauting i YMCA. Spojrzenie całościowe na życie i działalność Teodora Iljaszewicza wskazuje, jak ważną w jego życiu była działalność oświatowa, można nawet stwierdzić, że traktował ją priorytetowo, zaś twórczość literacka i naukowa była jej uzupełnieniem.

Profesorowie pedagogiki i psychologii na uniwersytetach II Rzeczypospolitej

W każdym z sześciu istniejących w okresie międzywojennym uniwersytetów funkcjonowały katedry o profilu pedagogicznym i psychologicznym. Zwykle ich charakter i nazewnictwo było niejednolite. W artykule przedstawiono portret zbiorowy profesorów stojących na czele wspomnianych katedr. Takich osób było 16 (Stefan Baley, Zygmunt Bielawski, Stefan Błachowski, Ludwik Chmaj, Antoni Danysz, Ludwik Jaxa Bykowski, Stanisław Kobyłecki, Mieczysław Kreutz, Zygmunt Bolesław Kukulski, Stanisław Łempicki, Marian Massonius, Zygmunt Mysłakowski, Bogdan Nawroczyński, Bogdan Suchodolski, Stefan Szuman i Władysław Witwicki). Międzywojenni profesorowie pedagogiki i psychologii na tle innych kierowników katedr uniwersyteckich byli grupą dość typową. Dotyczyło to m.in. wykształcenia uzyskanego często na więcej niż jednej uczelni, a także sposobu i okoliczności przechodzenia przez kolejne szczeble awansu naukowego i zawodowego. Były jednak także obszary, które wyróżniały profesorów interesujących nas specjalności. Przede wszystkim trzeba zwrócić uwagę na wyjątkowo dużą różnorodność wybieranych kierunków kształcenia przygotowujących do przyszłej pracy zawodowej. Oprócz pedagogiki lub/i psychologii większość osób przed objęciem katedry kształciła się zwykle także w zakresie innych dyscyplin, nie tylko pokrewnych. Dzięki temu duża część z nich była faktycznie badaczami interdyscyplinarnymi.

Sprawności moralne a postawa zawodowa położnych - Pedagogiczne implikacje postawy moralnej Stanisławy Leszczyńskiej – położnej z Auschwitz-Birkenau

Celem poznawczym pracy jest ukazanie znaczenia sprawności moralnych dla postawy zawodowej położnych w skrajnej sytuacji społecznej. Projekt badawczy zrealizowano na przykładzie opieki położniczej sprawowanej przez Stanisławę Leszczyńską dla rodzących kobiet w nazistowskim obozie koncentracyjnym Auschwitz-Birkenau. Zastosowano metody badawcze: analizy, syntezy i studium przypadku. Artykuł formalnie i materialnie wpisuje się w subdyscyplinę biografistyki pedagogicznej. Główny wniosek z przeprowadzonych badań potwierdza koherencję postawy moralnej w sytuacjach granicznych jako rezultatu procesu samowychowania do określonych sprawności moralnych. Postuluje się przywrócenie znaczenia aretologii pedagogicznej w kształceniu zawodowym i wychowaniu.

THE INFLUENCE OF STRESS ON THE TEACHER'S MENTAL HEALTH: CAUSES AND BEHAVIOURAL STRATEGIES

The Ukrainian population has been in a state of war for a long time and it found its mark in psychological and emotional tension, which affects the daily life of all citizens. Preschool children and high school students need special attention because these age categories are characterized by sensitivity, the individuality formation, shaping character and outlook. For a deeper understanding of the stress role and place in the life and professional activity of teachers, it is necessary to reveal the stress concept, its place in the internal structure of professional and pedagogical activity. At the same time, stress should be considered not only as an external factor caused by the extremity of the situation but also as a purposeful activity that forms a personality. The article offers a theoretical analysis of the stress problem within pedagogical workers, outlines its causes, and characterizes various behavioural strategies in stressful situations.
