Концепции, методи и форми на действия срещу комунизма през погледа на журналистиката, която прави обществено достояние организираните обществени антикомунистически инициативи в Полша между двете световни войни

Author(s): Karol Sacewicz / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 6/2018

This article not only introduces the organized Polish public anti-communist initiatives, but primarily focuses on their concepts, methods and forms of action, in order to deter or completely eliminate the danger of the Communists. In the Second Polish Republic, anti-communism is in line with the Polish raison d’état, that is why the activities of the social structures struggling against the Communist International and its sections have been accepted and even supported by the Polish government, Polish police and military intelligence.

Osztályhelyzet, együttes élmény, társas hatóképesség.

Author(s): Zsolt K. Horváth / Language(s): Hungarian Issue: 28/2021

The National Association of People's Colleges is often interpreted as a youth organization of the dictatorship and as an association that ensures the youth supply of the Communist Party. Although this view is not entirely illegitimate, it is simplistic insofar as it does not take into account 1) the pre-war people's colleges movement, 2) the nature of grassroots 3) its self- government 4) its role in social mobility 5) and its specific pedagogical and educational psychological aspirations. Of course, the comprehensive history of Nékosz cannot be the subject of such a short writing, so we will focus on elaborating points 3–5. Being the educational leader of Nékosz and researcher at the Institute of Psychology of the Institute of Education of Budapest, the psychologist Ferenc Mérei carried out numerous experiments in primary and secondary schools to develop the effectiveness of the emancipatory school. For him, the model of emancipatory education was the group experience of Nékosz.

Media Content Analysis on School Violence and Aggression in Bulgaria

Author(s): Vera Zaharieva / Language(s): English Issue: 4s/2021

This research offers a review of the online news content in Bulgaria, related to school aggression, violence, and sports initiatives tackling those behavioral problems. The aim is to provide an understanding of the phenomenon and the societal attitude towards its dimensions and possible solutions through sport. A media content analysis of online articles, dated January 2019 – April 2020, was used as a research methodology. Thirty-three articles on aggression and violence in school were reviewed, based on their frequency, timeline, place of publication, topics, and spokesperson. For the same time period, sixteen articles related to dealing with aggression through sport were reported. The results show that most of the media content on violence and aggression among students was related to raw statistical data and reports of cases. A relatively small section in the news was dedicated to opinion articles. It was observed that those who witness cases of aggression do not understand the seriousness of the situation and see it as entertainment. As a result, a major part of the video content, related to aggression, is being uploaded on the Internet by students and parents. However, the public focus is mainly shifted towards the school authorities and the figure of the teacher. At the same time, aggression in schools is spread among all students. It has a constant value and is provoked by numerous factors. On the contrary, initiatives and events aiming to disseminate information and to reduce aggression through sport were organized in many Bulgarian cities by nonprofit organizations, municipalities, and schools. The majority of events were organized as a part of European or national projects. It is suggested a more centralized national approach towards reducing aggression through different sports activities in school.

Russian Society in the Search of a New Vision of Itself and Others: from the „National Inferiority Complex” to a New Identity

Russian Society in the Search of a New Vision of Itself and Others: from the „National Inferiority Complex” to a New Identity

Author(s): Elena Shestopal / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2021

The paper is based on the results of a study of Russian citizens’ images of their own and foreign countries. Methodology included a survey with a number of open-ended questions, in-depth interviews, methods of cartography, semantic differentials and a projective test. The study has shown that such factors as an event context, cultural traditions, psychological conditions of Russian society and communication strongly influence country’s perception. Our results have proved that Russians in general do not share territorial expansionism. Recognition of the Russian culture and the value system by others is more important for them. Though at the current moment national „inferiority complex”, widely spread in 1980–2000s, still manifests itself, a new tendency, based on the growth of a national pride that started in 2014, strongly influences social moods. Our analysis of Russians’ perception of other countries enabled us to distinguish categorization mechanisms used by our citizens. So the images of other countries include „neighbors” (post-Soviet countries), „strategic partners” (India and China), „forgotten allies” (Latin America and Africa), „significant «other»” (individual European countries and a less significant EU), „enemy image” (USA) and the „tourist Mecca” (Turkey and Thailand).

ПРОБЛЕМАТИКА МАЈЧИНСТВА У РОМАНУ „ВОЉЕНА“ ТОНИ МОРИСОН

Author(s): Jelena M. Abula / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 74/2021

This paper will examine the concept of motherhood in the light of black feminism in Toni Morrison’s novel Beloved. Morrison, one of the most prominent writers of the 20th century, is trying to present the development of the African- American community and the institution of motherhood in a society characterized by meaningless divisions between race, class and gender. Slavery problematizes the concept of motherhood which represents a connection of conflicting views shaped by different attitudes towards race, gender and class. Therefore, Morrison uses the suppressed voices of African-American mothers to address the problematic concept of motherhood in slavery. The paper explores the complexity of slavery and its influence on motherhood, the powerful ideology through which the Afro-American tradition is transferred, and it also outlines motherhood as a dominant motif that connects the female characters in Beloved.

Bundling and tying in smart living

Bundling and tying in smart living

Author(s): Ina Virtosu,Chen LI / Language(s): English Issue: 02/2022

Smart living is a trend promising more comfort, security, and energy efficiency in our everyday life through digitalization and the inter-connectivity of devices. From driverless cars to smart thermostats, from movable office to ecosystem of smart home, all of them are smart “objects” on which smart living and smart cities rely, involving original and innovative solutions aimed at making life more efficient, more controllable, economical, productive, integrated, and sustainable. Nowadays, these objects are not single products anymore but a series of integrated products, which can be tied or bundled. However, the bunding and tying are not traditional one, like ordinary merchandise or software tying in the landmark case Microsoft. It can be between software and hardware, as well as with a more complicated structure. For the smart objects the bundling and tying may be not limited in bilateral ones but also can be multilateral. This paper aims to discuss bundling and tying products in a smart city life, and mainly the commercial reality of such smart products on how the components are bundled and tied. After, it analyses the structure of bundling and tying in some smart products to confirm whether there is a main product, which can be either a hardware or a software, or net-shaped like in the ecosystem of smart home. Based on these commercial realities, this paper discusses whether multilateral bundling and tying related to smart objects may be a threat to a competition order and mainly to violate Articles 102 TFEU.

Adapting political communication to technology. Case study: evolutionary aspects on social networks in Romania

Author(s): Mihaela Bărbieru / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2022

In recent years, studies on social networks have begun to become more and more numerous in the literature, with scientists showing a real interest in an influential analysis that they have on societies. Social networks are tools through which political candidates have the opportunity to distribute their political message during election campaigns, as well as outside them, to a growing audience. A very strong connection has been made between technology and communication, outside of which we, as individuals, can no longer exist, the virtual space managing to exploit communication in all its aspects. Online political communication, an easily accessible form of manifestation that attracts disinterested political groups, offers the possibility of avoiding information bottlenecks for citizens by changing content in real time, with low information costs, which means a real advantage for politicians. The importance of social networks in political communication is even greater as its role is the main channel of communication and occupies a special place in election campaign strategies. The present study aimes to analyze the phenomenon of social networks in terms of the benefits it offers to politics, through an online political communication with content transmitted in real time, without time limit and with low costs.

Използване на статистически методи и ИКТ за представяне на преобладаващ личностен тип в класа

Author(s): Polina Dimitrova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2022

The article presents a lesson, which main purpose was to present data by tables and diagrams using computer program Excel. A test for defining the personality type of each student was made in advance by the school psychologist. On the basis of the collected data, the students had to make tables with the personality types of the class and also fill in the results during the lesson. The students also had to prepare column diagram using the information from the table deciding the design on their own. The purpose of this exercise was to check the ability of the students to use in practice their knowledge about the type of diagram they had already learned in previous lessons. The second type of diagram that they had to prepare was the pie. They had to use a format that shows the percentage of each sector. The goal of this exercise was to bind their knowledge from 5th grade with a future material they will learn in 6th grade about the pie diagram, and how to draw it. At the end of this exercise the students had to check if the percentage of the sectors coincides with the real number of people with that personality type and to conclude by themselves if the percentage was rounded or not.

SLIDING INTO ANARCHY: AN APPRAISAL OF LAWLESSNESS IN NIGERIA AND THE QUEST FOR HUMAN SECURITY

Author(s): Olagoke Oluwafemi Awotayo,Olawale Olufemi Akinrinde,Ewube John Mbeng / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2022

The notion of human security has become a dominant theme in international political discussions. This is partly explained by the fact that the production of arms and ammunition does guarantee security. Economic, food, health, environmental, and personal safety are all components of human security. In Nigeria, the country is grappling with security hitches cutting across the six geo-political regions. Kidnapping, banditry, robbery, murder, and wanton killings are common items in the daily news. More worrying is that, despite huge resources being injected into the defense sector, the Nigerian government seems unable to curb this menace that has been troubling the nation's well-being. The government, security agencies, and intelligence organizations, on the other hand, appear to be caught off guard by the atrocities committed by terrorists, herders, and instances of interethnic violence pointing to the fact that Nigeria is prone to anarchy. Against this background, this paper contextualized the lawlessness in Nigeria with specific reference to human security. The paper employs the qualitative method of data collection that utilizes secondary sources such as newspapers, the internet, and extant scholarly works. Based on findings, the rate at which schools are closing, frequent jailbreaks, rising food prices, citizen apathy toward the government, the obvious inability of the government to uphold its own end of the social contract it made with its subjects, and failure of all security containment strategies are all overt signs of a failing state. It is submitted that there is a need for government to be conscious of its primary goals, which include welfare and the protection of people's lives and property. The article suggests that Nigeria should employ artificial intelligence to combat the threat to the nation's status as a sovereign republic, which is being posed by groups that have taken over the numerous ungoverned spaces that dot the country's territory. Nigeria should also invest in digital learning methods and coordinate its numerous security agencies. The political order, authority, law, and structures must all be rebuilt because they have all fallen apart.

SOME CONSIDERATIONS ON HOW HUMAN SECURITY HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WHICH HAS BROKEN HUMAN LIFE, FREEDOM, AND DIGNITY (PART I)

Author(s): Valentin-Stelian Bădescu / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2022

Today we are experiencing a deep crisis in society, accentuated by the pandemic with this Coronavirus, but chronicled and accentuated by the gloomy prospects after the end of the plague. What is happening is not at all proof of the lucidity of the world, no testimony of solidarity, and no proof of vigilance in the service of universal values. What is happening is simply evidence of gross manipulation, produced against the background of the lack of education and culture of the population. Everyone who goes to a serious school and accumulates enough knowledge of general culture - not necessarily historical - knows that each historical epoch has its own values and prejudices. Many times, what had been perfectly moral and legal in the past had become immoral and illegal in newer times. Of course, over time things have changed gradually, in stages and now the pandemic, artificially created and premeditated, has profoundly affected human security with the immediate consequence of altering life, dignity, rights, and fundamental freedoms, the rule of law being on the verge of dissolution. How did you get here and what to do, here are the questions that this study is trying to answer.

Construction et légitimation des hiérarchies dans des organisations transnationales est-européennes (Pologne, Roumanie)

Author(s): Antoine Heemeryck / Language(s): French Issue: 4/2020

Author(s): Antonio Patraş / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 1/2023

This study analyses the relationship between failure and success from two perspectives: creative psychology and sociology of creation. By starting from Angelo Mitchievici’s recent book, “Farmecul vieților distruse. Câteva reflecții despre ratare” [The Charm of Failed Lives] (2022), which explores one of the favorite themes of decadent literature and art (failure), I aim to highlight the most relevant existential postures in a writer’s life: the anti-bourgeois aristocratic posture (the dandy) and the proletarian-democratic posture (the bohemian). It is not by chance that Mitchievici dwells on the works the Romanian-French writer Emil Cioran, who tried to build an image of a secluded writer, close to anonymity, avoiding to cultivate both the bohemian and the dandy style, by adopting a lifestyle shaped by the cult of work and discipline, in the spirit of the Protestant ethics theorized by Max Weber. Mitchievici explains very convincingly how, once he emigrated to Paris, Cioran completely abandoned the Romanian language, in which he was convinced he was failing as a writer, in order to devote himself exclusively to writing in French, with the idea of conquering global glory. In addition to Cioran, the authors in focus are Francis Scott Fitzgerald, Shakespeare, Voltaire, Flaubert, Dino Buzzatti, Mihail Sadoveanu, Mircea Cărtărescu, etc., which provides the critic with the opportunity to reconnect with his former books (e.g. “Decadență și decadentism în contextul modernității românești și europene”, 2011) and to show a refined and mature essayist’s vein.

Ekonomia polityczna „wyborczych autokracji”

Ekonomia polityczna „wyborczych autokracji”

Author(s): Bartłomiej Nowotarski / Language(s): Polish Issue: 2/2022

„Electoral autocracy” (electoral authoritarianism), as shared by other nondemocracies, consists of the political monopoly of power. However this monopoly is due to elections which always, in populist assumptions, should only confirm incumbents’ ruling legitimacy even when competetive. Why such regimes are so succsessful worldwidely in a contemporary period? The answer is not simple, but to some extent it is because of political rent-seeking and limited so called transactional costs, both beneficial for incumbents as well as for their strict followers, and as a result usually leading to the hegemonic party system. Because incumbents are able – thanks to the credibility of different stable social transfers – to build enough solid „selectorate” needed for repeated reelections. It is not difficult to guess that such relations bring important costs for the rest of the excluded part of society, very often a majority. The price of the electoral autocracy, seen in a longer perspective, will be paid by the whole society.

Zawłaszczanie państwa przez partię rządzącą jako konsekwencja demontażu demokracji liberalnej w Polsce

Zawłaszczanie państwa przez partię rządzącą jako konsekwencja demontażu demokracji liberalnej w Polsce

Author(s): Anna Pacześniak / Language(s): Polish Issue: 2/2022

The author’s thesis in the article is that the process of state capture by the United Right is of a different nature than the actions undertaken by the political parties in power before 2015. A project of a illiberal counter-revolution is being implemented in a planned and consistent manner. The rejection of liberal democratic values involves the replacement of political and intellectual elites and attempts to impose and make dominant, with the support of institutions and resources at the disposal of the state, traditional values.

THE RISKS TO SOCIETY GENERATED BY "SOVEREIGN CITIZENS" BASED ON THE ATTITUDE INFLUENCED BY RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

Author(s): Iulian Dinulescu / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2023

The Sovereign Citizen Movement is one formed by people who interpret the political, legal, and social reality through the prism of their own religious beliefs. The man was created freely by God, meaning "sovereign". Consequently, individuals are free from the legal norms imposed by other people. This is a movement without an organizational structure, which is replaced by its system of beliefs and values held by leaders and clearly defined organizations. Gordon Kahl's manifesto undoubtedly highlights the religious side of the sovereign citizen movement. The individual said in 1983 that the Kingdom of Christ was under siege by the forces of Satan who control the governments of the states, which is why people should no longer submit to them. Followers of the Sovereign Citizen Movement believe that their actions and attitudes are approved by God. They issued their own IDs, passports, and vehicle registration numbers, some with the phrase "Kingdom of God" emblazoned on them. Some of the "sovereign citizens" took their beliefs to extremes and became violent, killing those who opposed them. For this reason, the Federal Bureau of Investigation labeled the most extreme among them as terrorists.

За връзката на българите в Бесарабия с България през призмата на един музеен предмет – Евангели

Author(s): Elena Vodinchar,Marina Pereli-Plehanova,Sonia Semerdzhieva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2023

The present study focuses on the relationship of the Bulgarians in Bessarabia with Bulgaria. These relations of the Diaspora with the metropolis are examined in the text through the prism of a museum object: a Gospel from the collection of the Regional Archaeological Museum – Plovdiv. The authors focus the analysis on museology as a methodology. Some approaches to the study and interpretation of the facts from Bulgarian and foreign authors with extensive experience in the study of museum objects and collections are also examined. In general, the study offers a detailed analysis of the informational potential of a museum object in order to trace the relationship of the Bulgarians from the village of Banovka in Bessarabia (today located in Odesa Region – Ukraine) with their compatriots in the village of Chehlare, Plovdiv region during the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 21st century.

Attracting qualified workers from a third country is an important element for maintaining the economic development and competitiveness of the Republic of Bulgaria. In Bulgaria, as in other member states of the European Union, the access of third-country nationals to the labor market is regulated in order to ensure controlled migration and protect jobs for the local population. The purpose of this presentation is to make a general scientific and educational analysis of the legal regime of the right to access the labor market and to present to the reader in a systematized form only those provisions of the law that refer to the types of legal regime of access to the labor market of third country nationals.
