Súčasná výchova etnických menšín v Slovenskej republike
Slovakia is a multicultural country. There live 86% of Slovaks, 10% of Hungarians, 1% of Ukrainians, 1% of Czechs, 320 thousands of Roma as well as Poles, Germans and Vietnamese. Since 1991, Roma have had the minority status but there are still problems with the education of their children. Half of the Roma adults is illiterate, 58% of Roma children are taught in the primary schools for normal children and 42% in special schools. In the academic year 2008/2009, only 96 Roma students benefited from university education and 147 studied at the Academies of Music.
