Summary/Abstract: Lvov has been multiethnic – and thus multicultural – from its very beginnings, and the awareness of that fact remained among its inhabitants, Poles included, until the 20th century. With time, Lvov, and later memory of it, have been dominated by Polish presence. Diaries written after World War II only rarely offer glimpses of this past, multicultural Lvov.
