The strategy of the speaker in the speech act is formed in accordance whit the communicative task, and tactics requires reconsideration of the concrete linguistic means, suitable for the completion of the communicative task. In connection whit the „task suggestion”, syntactic, lexical and morphological linguistic means are looked into. Special attention is drawn on the morphological phenomena „neutralization” and „transposition” as having „suggestive” effect.

The article considers the necessity of precision and continuing tuition for pedagogues which offers a process with the pedagogue’s own subjectivity and the opportunity for him to ask questions about the complexities while working with a certain child or class. The role of fairy tales for the psychological „growing up” of the child is discussed through the conceptions of S.Ferenczi and B.Bettelheim. The space given by the fairy tale is compared to the introduced by D.Winnicott transitional space which allows the inner /psychical/ and the outer space /reality/ to exist separately but mutually connected.

Baba Yaga is a collective image, which reflects the attitude of people towards the fairy and the real world, their perceptions, beliefs and hopes. The aim of this paper is to introduce new and unknown features of her character and appearance for the Bulgarian reader and in particular to prove that these new features can change imposed conceptions about her character in fairy tales and her place in contemporary culture.

The article presents the figure of a literary critic and literature historian — Wiktor Weintraub.Weintraub’s biography has been summarized here, focusing on his literary criticism, whereasspecial attention has been given to the strategies he adopted. The article shows how, depending on the author of a reviewed text, as well as its research reliability and opinions presented therein, Weintraub selected and adjusted various methods of evaluation and appraisal. Additionally, the article presents differences between printed evaluations and those expressed in the letters to the editors of the “Wiadomości,” as well as emotional bias visible in the commentaries prepared for press releases to be published in the London magazine.

The conversations/correspondence of Jarosław Borowiec with Krystyna Miłobędzka and Andrzej Falkiewicz, Tymoteusz Karpowicz with Miłobędzka and Falkiewicz, Karpowicz with Heinrich Kunstmann make up an intriguing testimony of “friendship of diversities”, a collection of affirmations of intellectual co-presence. In Dwie rozmowy [Two Conversations], which the present sketch refers to, the portrayals and self-portrayals of the writers are perpetuated — moments of honest, hearty concern, proof of intellectual affinity and traces of diversity. While reading this volume, one may observe the erudite “thoughtful hours” of the participants of the debates, discussing the ideas and message of literary works and designing next publications. The subject matter of the article is a composition of letters, thanks to which one can follow the aspects of “life and work” as well as the issues related to the “metaphysics of art.”

Slovene literature and film are connected through numerous and creative links (in the Socialist Republic of Slovenia over 40 per cent of films were made according to scripts based on the works of native literature). However, never before or afterwards had the consequences of screen adaptation of fiction proved as momentous for the national culture as in the case of Dominik Smole’s novel Black Days and a White Day (1958), and the book’s adaptation, Boštjan Hladnik’s film Dancing in the Rain (1961). Both works played a very important role in promoting Slovene culture of modernist aesthetics – autonomous and noninstrumental, carrying out bold formal experiments, breaking with tradition and mimetic expression of reality. Both of them fulfilled the task properly, despite facing sharp criticism from conservative audience, especially viewers. Having completed their cultural mission, they ended up in a repository of culture texts in order to await the interest of new generations of readers viewers – rather professional than mass.

This article highlights the major literary work reviews of Alexei Marinat, a Bessarabian Solzhenitsyn, who excels in the memoirs genre and the documentary prose. For over six decades, with small intermittent periods, the former political prisoner reflects on events and phenomena, records experiences in diaries that were published towards the end of his career. The diarist’s work is characterized, without exaggeration, by its commitment to honesty and literary glory, for which the author endured harsh years of detention.

Écrire la fragilité de l’existence humaine ou comment exprimer l’agonie (“Bataille navale” de Reinhard Goering, “Pique-nique en campagne” et “Guernica” de Fernando Arrabal)

In this article, the author studies the dramas which, while exposing the absurdity of war, express an apocalyptic vision of humanity doomed to its destruction. Whether it is Reinhard Goering’s “Sea battle” or Arrabal’s dramas (“Picnic on the Battlefield” and “Guernica”) we are witnessing an obvious renewal of the tragedy. However, the authors do not apply the rules specific to the canonical genre, but by shining a light on the precarious condition of modern man, they paint a world in its self-destruction where there is no place for catharsis. Tragic in its modernized version inevitably provokes the shaking of the dramatic form which testifies not only to human agony but also to that of dramatic art. In fact, the two playwrights undermine the main foundations of “absolute drama”, deconstructing the action in the classic sense of the word and depriving their characters of their active attributes of a hero of traditional theater.

The review “Légitime Défense”, created by a group of Martinican students in Paris, is often presented as a manifesto more political than literary, without substantial consequences. However, it has induced responses and is remembered in Negro-African intellectual circles all around the world. The 90th anniversary of its publication approaching, it seems well-founded to read and analyze over the « Avertissement » in order to evaluate its substantive and aesthetic importance.

La post-mémoire et le problème de l’identité nationale et individuelle présentés dans la littérature mauricienne contemporaine d’expression française

In the article the author analyses the influence of post-memory in the formation of national and individual identity among the inhabitants of the young Republic of Mauritius presented in contemporary Mauritian literature in French. Important and at the same time tragic historical events of Mauritius are: slavery, the arrival and labour of indentured workers from India and the tragedy of the Chagos Islanders. The author analyses some texts by Ananda Devi and Shenaz Patel in which both writers describe the impact of ancestral history on the lives of characters representing the next generation from different ethnic groups living on the island. In her analysis, the author refers to the works of Marianne Hirsch, Paul Ricœur and Alex Mucchielli.

The article presents the results of a study of the use and functioning of paired phraseological combinations in the language of the press based on the material of the German newspaper “Die Zeit”. The varieties and lexical-semantic features of paired phraseological units are analyzed, their pragmatic functions in a newspaper text are determined. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of modified phraseological combinations.
