Analiza razlika u izdanjima kratke inačice malog Nauka fra Matije Divkovića

Analiza razlika u izdanjima kratke inačice malog Nauka fra Matije Divkovića

Author(s): Dolores Grmača / Language(s): Croatian Issue: I/2019

Author(s): Vjekoslava Jurdana / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 1/2012

Jakov Volčić (1815–1888), a priest and Istrian national revivalist, distinguished himself also by collecting oral literary works in Istria and Liburnia. He thus recorded an array of poems which he heard in Lovran. Many of these were published in magazines, and then printed in the collection Hrvatske narodne pjesme što se pjevaju u Istri i na Kvarnerskih otocih (Croatian national poems sung in Istria and on the islands of Kvarner) in 1880. This collection brings poems that were recorded by Volčić in Lovran. Their thematic and motivic, notional, formal and also contextual layers are analysed in order to valorise them, but the intention was also to disseminate the knowledge on the Lovran literary and artistic mosaic.

Identity and Cultural Memory in Cvit razgovora naroda i jezika iliričkoga aliti rvackoga [The Flower of Conversation of Illyrian or Croatian People and Language] (1747) by Filip Grabovac

Identity and Cultural Memory in Cvit razgovora naroda i jezika iliričkoga aliti rvackoga [The Flower of Conversation of Illyrian or Croatian People and Language] (1747) by Filip Grabovac

Author(s): Goranka Šutalo,Josipa Tomašić / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 2/2019

This article deals with the textual construction of identity and the strategy of remembrance in Cvit razgovora naroda i jezika iliričkoga aliti rvackoga [The Flower of Conversation of Illyrian or Croatian people and language] (1747) by Filip Grabovac. Using the imagological analytical apparatus, the phenomenon of constituting confessional (Catholic) identity and (dominant Eastern Orthodox) alterity is discussed. The analysis focuses on textual construction or representation of confessional identities, or alterities, wherein numerous value-charged expressions are present. Given the importance of the sociohistorical context in imagological research, the paper takes into account not only the history of literature, but also the history of culture. In addition to imagological treatment, Grabovac’s text is also examined within the framework of cultural memory; discursive strategies of remembrance which maintain the constructed identity are analysed, firm reference points of memory and symbolic figures to which memory adheres are identified.

ODLIKE ANDRIĆEVE “ZAR-REČENICE”

Author(s): Zdravko Šolak / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 2/2018

The paper analyses the so-called “zar” sentences in Ivo Andrić’s oeuvre. The sample of 133 sentences is divided into those which appear in dialogues, those which appear in monologues and those which appear close to each other in the same paragraph. This method has enabled analysing the usage of the particle “zar” and the function of “zar” sentences in descriptions of narrated events. Accordingly, the paper argues that Andrić rarely uses the particle “zar” in a standard interrogative sentence which is followed by a response; instead, he tends to use it in the form of a rhetorical question following which there is usually no dialogical response or commentary, which can be found in monologues.

NARACIJA I KAJKAVŠTINA U FILMU SELJAČKA BUNA 1573. VATROSLAVA MIMICE

Author(s): Amir Kapetanović / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 2/2018

This article analyses the narration and language in Anno Domini 1573 by Vatroslav Mimica. This film deals with a 16th-century peasant rebellion against feudal lords in north-western Croatia. The director/screenwriter has included modern elements and original accents into this historical film. On the basis of an analysis of two versions of the screenplay (from 1972 and the “film log” from 1974) and their comparison with the film and TV series adaptation, this paper discusses Mimica’s interpretation and narrative design of a story, which draws on historical sources and is topped with fictional elements (the life of Petrek). As Mimica’s characters speak in the Kajkavian idiom, the paper focuses on the linguistic aspect of characters’ lines and the authenticity and anachronicity of the language.
