Odmiany psychoanalizy

Odmiany psychoanalizy

Author(s): Maciej Duda,Agnieszka Sobolewska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 54/2022

The text is an introduction to the journal issue devoted to the changes and metamorphoses of doctrines formed in the field of psychoanalytic thought. The authors point out the polyphonic nature of psychoanalysis and emphasize the special value of its susceptibility to transformation. In this introductory essay, emphasis is placed on both psychoanalytic theory and practice. The authors try to prove that the methods of interpreting literary works emerging from psychoanalysis today should take into account perspectives derived directly from analytical practices. The authors aim to prove that among the most important of these is a relational understanding of humanistic work (based on reading and writing practices), as well as a pluralistic account of the constantly renewed acts of interpretation.

Przełamywanie milczenia. Przemiany sposobów prezentacji problematyki LGBT+ we współczesnej prozie słowackiej

Przełamywanie milczenia. Przemiany sposobów prezentacji problematyki LGBT+ we współczesnej prozie słowackiej

Author(s): Rafał Majerek / Language(s): Polish Issue: 4/2022

In Slovakia after the Velvet Revolution of 1989 groups previously marginalized and discriminated against in the communism era, including the LGBT+ community, began activities aimed at obtaining full civil rights and developing forms of cultural representation. Gradually, the issues of non-heteronormativity began to appear in various areas of culture. As regards prose texts, which are the basis for the reflections presented in this paper, non-heteronormativity was initially portrayed in a stigmatizing, stereotype-based manner. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the dominant approach has been to expose the problem of LGBT+ people living in the closet, hiding their identity due to the homophobia in the society; the sphere of intimacy is considered as the only one that allows a sense of security and the free expression of affection and desire. In more recent works, examples of characters who have come out of the closet and have no problems with functioning openly in the family and social contexts begin to appear. The specificity of Slovak fiction featuring the themes of non-heteronormativity lies mainly in the lack of works of a clearly emancipatory nature, the domination of stories focused on intimate relations between women, and only occasionally introducing gay or transgender themes.

Porozumění mašíblu

Porozumění mašíblu

Author(s): Felix Borecký / Language(s): Czech Issue: 67/2023

The article deals with the phenomenon of “mašíbl” from the theory of interpretation point of view. After the presentation of the main features of mašíbl in the first part of the study, attention is paid, in the second part, to the specific hermeneutics which Vladimír Borecký outlines in his general methodological reflections on the theory of culture and symbolic imagination. This theory, as we aim to point out, may provide an instructive clue to consider theoretical issues concerning the understanding of mašíbl. We come to the conclusion that mašíbl is a distinctive type of text that cannot be subordinated to any established kind of hermeneutics, but it needs its proper theory of interpretation. We outline its principal features and call it the “hermeneutics of inappropriateness.”

Schools as Positive Institutions in the Context of Language Learning: Students’ Perspectives

Schools as Positive Institutions in the Context of Language Learning: Students’ Perspectives

Author(s): Anna Michońska-Stadnik / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2022

Positive psychology focuses its research on the conditions of people’s well-being and happiness, contrary to mainstream psychological studies on human disorders. The three most important areas to focus on while studying reasons for people’s effective lives are positive emotions, positive features of character and positive institutions. Positive attitudes seem to be especially essential in education, because that is where the features of character are formed. In second language acquisition studies, these three areas appear to be exceptionally important because of the essentially social character of the language learning process. This paper focuses on students’ opinions about the role of school in their language development. These comments were collected in retrospective semi-structured interviews. Students offered both positive and negative opinions on schools and their role in language education. It appears that even though some schools care for students’ well-being, quite a few of them still cannot be considered as positive institutions.

Гръцко-старобългарски лексикални паралели в превода на библейската "Книга на пророк Иезекииля" с тълкувания от Теодорит Кирски по ркп. F.I.461 (РНБ, СПб)

Гръцко-старобългарски лексикални паралели в превода на библейската "Книга на пророк Иезекииля" с тълкувания от Теодорит Кирски по ркп. F.I.461 (РНБ, СПб)

Author(s): Tatyana Ilieva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 30/2022

The article examines the different methods of translation (word-based, morpheme-based and semantic) used by the author of the Old Bulgarian translation of The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel with a commentary by Theodorites of Crete, according to Manuscript F.I.461 (The National Library of Russia, St. Petersburg) from the 14th century. On the basis of the analysis conducted, the researcher comes to the conclusion that the translation has peculiarities characteristic of both the translations by St. Cyril and St. Methodius, on the one hand, and of the Preslav literary norm, on the other. This points unmistakably to the fact that the translator belonged to the literary circle of the capital but was also familiar with the traditions of the Thessalonica brothers, carried on by their disciples and followers.

Vývoj gramatické kompetence u českého dítěte

Vývoj gramatické kompetence u českého dítěte

Author(s): Pavla Chejnová / Language(s): Czech Issue: 1/2023

The article summarizes the main tendencies in a Czech monolingual child’s development of morphology and syntax, then compares the results with those found in foreign research. After analyzing the authentic utterances of the child, the article presents universal strategies for acquiring grammatical categories and illustrates specificities of Czech. There are universal tendencies in first language acquisition, such as the sequence of acquiring nominal cases and the interrelation between certain verbal categories. Hypergeneralization is another universal tendency. Grammatical development is linked to cognitive development and pragmatic competence — children express what they need using the language means available, thus the linguistic means necessary to express immediate needs develop faster. The influence of cognitive and pragmatic factors also manifests in syntactic development. The research shows that the cognitive load of the structure — the mental processes needed to produce the utterance — is more important than the formal structure of the sentence.

Interdisziplinarität der politischen Wahlkampf- und Wahlsloganforschung – Rückblick und Forschungspotenziale

Interdisziplinarität der politischen Wahlkampf- und Wahlsloganforschung – Rückblick und Forschungspotenziale

Author(s): Agnieszka Mucha / Language(s): German Issue: 1/2022

The main objective of the article is to present the interdisciplinarity of research on campaign slogans and posters. Initial considerations include presenting the current state of research – it is evident that such efforts have been undertaken since the 1960s, in the context of multiple disciplines such as linguistics, political and communication sciences, as well as market and advertising psychology. The most important aim of the article is to showcase methods which can be used to analyse election campaigns and describe them through the lens of “performance studies.” Various performativity strategies are listed and briefly explained. The author concludes that theatrical analysis can also be applied in a non-theatrical context, especially in campaign research. The subject demands more detailed inquiry, since the election campaign and the political performance must be considered as an essential condition for the existence of a democratic government.

Opiniile specialiștilor privind utilizarea umorului în terapia tulburărilor de limbaj și comunicare

Opiniile specialiștilor privind utilizarea umorului în terapia tulburărilor de limbaj și comunicare

Author(s): Teodora Popescu / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 2/2022

This paper addresses an important and innovative subject for the speech language therapy settings and it is the first research study which investigates specialists' opinions on the use of humour in the Romanian speech and language therapy domain. The design of the study implies the development of a new questionnaire created during the research. Data were collected through this survey in an on-line format and thematic analysis method for data analysis was performed. In this research participants were SLTs (N=210) who work in different urban and rural areas in Romania. The research results highlight the presence of humour in SLTs settings and the interest in this field among specialists, suggesting that humour has notable implications in SLT’s domain. Access to humour for people with language impairment is dependent on: age; level of language development; specificity of language impairment; type of humour used. The main difficulties in understanding and using humour for children with language disorders are related to: understanding abstract linguistic concepts; vocabulary limits and constraints; poor executive functions; understanding social rules; accepting another person's perspective. Humour can be incorporated into speech and language therapy activities in a variety of ways and used at different stages of the speech and language therapy approach

Reeducarea tulburărilor specifice de articulare a vorbirii determinate de dezechilibru muscular orofacial cu ajutorul terapiei logopedice miofuncționale

Author(s): Elena Lăcrămioara Buzzo / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 1/2023

Phonetic disorders are errors of articulation and resonance of phonemes, which, in the presence or absence of organic changes in the phonoarticulatory organs, persist beyond the acquisition of perceptual and articulatory skills. For the correct production of each vowel/consonant, the structures of the articulatory apparatus come into contact in a variable way, following finely coordinated movements, and adopt a certain position to allow the correct emission of the sound.Orofacial muscle imbalances and disorders are disorders of the muscles and functions of the face and mouth. These can directly and/or indirectly affect breastfeeding, growth and development of the facial skeleton, mastication, swallowing, resting position of the tongue, speech- phonemic articulation, occlusion, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) movements, oral hygiene, stability of orthodontic treatment, facial aesthetics and others. The correct swallowing mechanism depends on the correct relationship between the muscles of the face, mouth and pharyngo-laryngeal region, but also on a balance of the entire body system.Another important element that must be taken into account, in particular, is the resting position of the tongue. Dysfunctional swallowing - refers to a condition in which there is an alteration of the mouth-lingual movements in the act of swallowing.Balancing the oro-facial musculature through education - re-education of deviant swallowing, breathing and mastication difficulties, phonatory verbal articulation alterations, malocclusion and painful symptoms of the temporomandibular joint, in different age groups is done through TMF (Myofunctional Therapy).Myofunctional therapy can lead to stable correction of swallowing abnormalities, with positive effects for correcting speech articulation disorders.

Een kleine taalgemeenschap – een groot onderzoeksveld

Author(s): Agata Kowalska-Szubert,Bożena Czarnecka / Language(s): Dutch Issue: 1/2021

There is a growing trend in the scientific world to publish papers in English. Describing research in the field of technology or medicine in English is justified, because it allows for faster verification of results and their application by scientists in any part of the world, and thus their faster use by ordinary people. It is questionable, however, whether it makes sense to write about a language – especially one as small as Dutch – in the language of Shakespeare. Dutch still lends itself very well to scientific argument, as the publications in this volume prove.

Wpływ typu relacyjności na recepcję tekstu: Wnioski z eksperymentu

Author(s): Daria Andrzejewska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2022

The subject of this article are four types of text relationality, that is the H2H effect. The research perspective adopted falls within the basic assumptions of linguistics, and in particular within the research on plain language in Poland and the world. The purpose of the experiment is to determine the impact of the H2H effect on the effectiveness of the text and how the sender is perceived. The first part is focused on the techniques of simplifying the text in terms proposed by the Pracownia Prostej Polszczyzny (PPP UWr), discussing in particular the stage related to building relationships in the text. The author then explains the origins of the concept of H2H and its division into four relational types. She also indicates the typical exponents of the sender (H1) and receiver (H2). The most important part, however, is the survey experiment that author conducted. The research questions concern how the four H2H types affect participant engagement, text evaluation and how the sender is perceived. It turns out that the role of H1 and H2 exponents is crucial in building the relatability of the text.

Author(s): Aleksandra Majdzińska-Koczorowicz,Julia Ostanina-Olszewska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2022

The present study aims to discuss the image of online learning created in selected internet memes in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Internet memes constitute bimodal entities, in which the verbal and the visual complete one another to trigger connotations and induce a whole framework of meanings. The multimodal approach to analysis is conducted with reference to the cognitive linguistic framework, in particular Conceptual Metaphor Theory, metonymy (Lakoff and Johnson 1980), construal (Langacker 1987, 2009), frame semantics (Fillmore 1988) and the blending theory (Fauconnier and Turner 2002).

This article is divided into three sections. The first one contains an overview of the available academic research of speech development. Furthermore, its contribution to forming interpersonal relationships is put into consideration. Linguistic, neurobiological and psychological observations are presented here. The following analysis of the Baby Shark video and other publicly available digital material of children’s reactions to the initial sounds of this song, aims to show its phenomenon. It is also an example of the impact that modern culture and technology have on both L1 and L2 acquisition. All of this makes it possible to acknowledge this perspective as an important element of the speech therapy interview. Observations contain in this article might be also worth to put into discussion with other researchers and specialists. The final section of the article is its bibliography containing both Polish and English-language scientific texts and, due to the specificity of this topic, numerous internet sources.
