In July 1990 the Romania Institute of· TracologysUPRorted fmancially an archaeological
researching. project on the surrounding the village Gligoreştji,.Cluj district.The diggmg were
made' at "La Holoame" place (fig. 2), ahigher area, situaţed at the meeting point of Arieş
and Mureş rivers. The researched area covered 84.75m2• '
The stratigraphy are the following: O - O,20/25m blavk-graysh earth, level destroyed by
agricultural works; O,2012~ - O,45/65m black earth, pigmante,(1 adobe and mortar level, belollgs
tothe Roman period; in .trench 1, between 11-15m, at the base of the Roman level, there were found a blak...graysh band of eart~ 0,25 fi thick, level belonging to' the Hllllstatt period; be·
tween the depht of d,45165 ... I ,0Q/l ,30m the cultural stiatum has a gray calaur and belongs
, to the Early Bronze period. In trahch 2, at .thebase of th~ gray level. betweetl O .. Iim, an
0,40 thickness, a. darker ,shade ·of I earth was observed, wich made us to· draw it onprofiles.

an a secondary postion, s~me Cotofeni shards, at' the beginning of tne 3'dstage, was
fo6.nd' (fig. 3/1 ... 13). The Barly Brbnze materials (fig. 4... 1~), belong to the 2"" stage of the
EarlY Bronze ·AJ~e in TransUvani~, being characteristic to 'the so called hoti~onwith "cuffs"
("tnanschete';). ()n' the secondary Iposition. in the Roman level, was' found some shards belonging
ta the NIiddle Bronze Ag~ ,<Wietenberg culture) aod ta the Late Bronze Age (fig. 14...
16). The Hallstatt level belongs tol Basarabi culture (fig. 17). The Roman pottery, i$ of classi':
