TANGENT AND DIVERGENT POINTS BETWEEN LANGUAGES

TANGENT AND DIVERGENT POINTS BETWEEN LANGUAGES

Author(s): Marinela Granescu,Monica Mariana Ioani / Language(s): English / Issue: 2/2010

Keywords: LSP; regent verb; determining verb; mood

The horizontal analysis of tangent and divergent points between two or more related or unrelated languages has a wide range of applicability in foreign language teaching. Starting from the discrepancies between the native language and the target language, this paper brings forth a corpus of information concerning the use of the Infinitive {VDT or V2} as a compulsory or an optional modal variant, required by the main verb (VR – sentence operator) in texts belonging to three specialized languages, English, French and Romanian. The authors have chosen this topic of study limiting their analysis to the group of declarative and factitive verbs requiring either an Infinitive, a Subjunctive, an Indicative or a Conditional Mood structure to highlight the similarities and differences among the three languages and their specific application to technical and scientific texts.

Hub, additionally to the development of its own innovative projects and infrastructure, gives informational and consulting, scientific and technological, infrastructural and producing services to solve technologies transfer tasks. Innovation hubs create an effective field of innovative communications (ІnCo), the main task of which is to stimulate an open dialogue of the innovative activity stakeholders and their cooperation with the help of specialized approaches. State role in innovative ecosystems development and the high technologies transfer is defined by the following factors: necessity to stimulate the national economy development as the precondition of stable demand for innovations; possibility to accumulate and orient at innovative development sufficient material resources; necessity of the advanced education development; necessity to form integral innovative policy, founded at the principles of innovative activity planning and prognostication; uniting and coordinating of the innovative, scientific and technical activity in the national scale. Fractured Narratives in Novel and Film

Fractured Narratives in Novel and Film

Author(s): Monica Spiridon / Language(s): English / Issue: 2/2013

Keywords: meta-fiction; fictional self-reflection; narrative voice; narrative split; genre patterns

Our contribution points to the strategic split operated by Ian McEwan’s narrative and, comparatively, by Joe Wright’s film Atonement. This split allows them to craft two diverging narrative discourses which overtly compete to dominate the interpretation of the fiction and especially its reading transactions. Eventually these narrative maneuvers of both the writer and the director overcome the teleological fate of the narratives and allow them to perform a meta-fictional and self-reflexive role.

CONSIDERATIONS ON THE RELATION BETWEEN VALUES AND SECURITY CULTURE

Author(s): Veronica PĂSTAE / Language(s): English / Issue: 55/2015

Keywords: security; value; security culture; strategic culture; security discourse; national stereotypes; policy-making;

This article investigates the relationship between values and security culture, therefore we shall analyse the manner in which social values such as equality, liberty, solidarity, tolerance, difference, diversity or justice are reflected by the concept of security culture. Additionally, we shall approach some controversial aspects, like the overlap between diplomatic culture, political culture, strategic culture and security culture, in an attempt to highlight the fine distinctions among them. Our final purpose is to draw attention to the deeply ingrained national perceptions which exert a powerful influence on the way regional security strategies are designed. We shall argue that leaders and policy-makers must be aware of cultural differences and take them into account if they aim at building a realistic and viable security culture that could ensure better safety for all citizens.

Principiile analizei generativ-transformaționale și formale a funcțiilor textului scris și a discursului

Author(s): Bogdana Cristina Laura Nedelcu / Language(s): Romanian / Issue: 3/2021

Keywords: transformational method; communication strategies; logic codes; language; speech; affective intelligence; evolution; linguistic paradigms;

It exposes a new teaching and learning approach of the laboratory for subject Processes and Machines in Cotton Spinning Mill comprised in the academic curricula of the 3rd year students, specialization Technology and Design Textile Products and subject Processes in the Spinning Mill comprised in the academic curricula of the 2nd year students, specialization Economic Industrial Engineering. The draw frame is placed after the card machine or after the combing preparation system for combed yarns. The role of the draw frames is to increase the uniformity of the bands through the doubling effect of the bands, when a doubling of 6 or 8 is used and to increase the quality of the bands by straightening the fibers. The work is accomplished in PowerPoint aiming to capture the attention of the students. Besides, the transition from chapter to chapter or to additional relevant aspects within a chapter is carried out by means of hyperlinks. The kinematic and technological schemes developed in Autocad serve to calculus, kinematic and technological, and facilitate a better understanding of the functioning of the machine, part of the machine or different mechanisms. Supplementary, several images, audio and video files support the learning and understanding process. The video material derives from personal records or processing available movies in the public space, www.youtube.com, using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 software. For each kinematic or technological parameter to be calculated, the respective kinematic chains are identified by changing the properties of the respective entities (kind, thickness or color of gears). The paper can be accessed from the official website of the university, http://www.uav.ro/, by accessing the platform on https://core.uav.ro/ containing all the bibliographic materials uploaded for university students. Author(s): Daniela Petroșel / Language(s): Romanian / Issue: 1/2022

Keywords: Kitsch; art; language;

Kitsch is one of those few concepts that refuses to be included in the rigors of a single discipline, forming itself at the intersection of several fields, aesthetics, individual or collective psychology, sociology, ethics, etc. His interdisciplinary fiber has nothing to do with passing academic fashions, but with the variety of his forms of manifestation. Because kitsch attacks on several sides: it degrades artistic ideals and ideas, transforming the Art of aesthetic emotion into a pseudo-art of the desire for consumption.

Keywords: public denunciations; communist regime; Securitate police;

The phenomenon of unmasking began in Bucharest in 1958, when the Red Army withdraw from Romania. This action involved bringing political cases against intellectuals (usually privileged by the regime) for the most absurd reasons. Workers, agents of Securitate (Romanian communist secret police) and other intellectuals took part in the trials. These public demonstrations were intended to re-educate those who had rebelled against the system, but they also served as a warning to those brought there and to everyone else, as audio recordings of the trials were broadcast to intellectual gatherings in the country’s major cities. The present study focuses on the composer, pianist, teacher and music critic Mihail Andricu, who, on April 7, 1959, was “unmasked” in a political trial held in the hall of the Central Council of Syndicates on Lipscani Street (in Bucharest), directed by organs of the Securitate, at which intellectuals from the music, literature and theatre world hurled accusations.
