Focus and scope. The uniqueness of the scientific journal Socialiniai tyrimai (Eng. Social Research) among other periodicals of similar or related topics is the orientation towards the results of original social research. Improving the quality of the publications is focused on a high international scientific level. The aim is to attract high-level works of foreign researchers. Many recent sources of foreign science are required to be cited in articles. Interdisciplinarity is encouraged: articles often have broad links between different disciplines in management, administration and economics. This journal is a registered peer-reviewed scientific journal of Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy.

History. The journal Jaunujų mokslininkų darbai / Journal of Young Scientists has been published since 2003. It is an international peer-reviewed periodical scientific journal of Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy.

The journal welcomes papers, in which the analysis of the latest scientific literature and the description of experiments carried out on the account of junior researchers or under the supervision of senior academic staff are provided and in this way an opportunity to participate in discussions on the issues related to research work and in the exchange of opinions on the relevance of the research works of the academic community to its immediate environment, region and state is given. 

The editorial board of significant researchers and scholars unreservedly cooperate with and motivate junior academic staff in their research and creative activities providing suggestions and assistance in the submission of papers and the development of systemic approach towards the issues of empirical research. The editorial objective is to publish papers comparable in their quality, topicality, novelty and originality to those published in world-famous scholarly journals.

Focus and scope. Lietuvos istorijos studijos (Eng. Studies of Lithuania's History) is a periodical publication issued by the historians of Vilnius university. The periodical publishes information on the latest research conducted by history researchers; it also provides information which once faded into oblivion and was discovered anew, such as historical documents, memoirs and writings by historians of the former epochs. The journal covers topics of sociocultural and political history, cultural anthropology, heritage conservation and archaeology.

The journal also publishes scientific articles and lectures by foreign historians, the aim of which is to investigate the past of the Lithuanian nation and its historical development. Besides, the periodical carries introductions and reviews on the latest scientific research on Lithuania, conducted both in in our country and elsewhere; it publishes the chronicle of the academic life at Vilnius university and of the academic activities of relations.

Attempts are undertaken to embrace the whole entirety of Lithuania’s history and culture in Lietuvos istorijos studijos. The periodical focuses on such issues, as the development of Lithuania’s statehood, material and spiritual culture, as well as interaction between Lithuania and other countries. Lithuania’s position in the world civilization is reflected upon. Furthermore, the publication sheds light on various discussions, a wide range of opinions and evaluations, as well as unique insights.

The periodical Lietuvos istorijos studijos provides relevant scientific and cognitive information to all those interested in the past and the present times of the Lithuanian nation, emigraton, the history of the relations between the emigrees and their native country, general issues of civilization, the development of civilization culture, international relations, etc. The publication presents a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the latest publications by prominent researchers of Lithuanian history and the development of historical thought in Lithuania.

History. The first issue of the scientific journal was published in 1999 as a philological edition of Kaunas Faculty of Humanities (from 01/01/2017 – Kaunas Faculty) of Vilnius University. In 2002 the international editorial board consisting of leading scientists of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Russia and Belarus was formed. The journal became an international edition of regional character and was published with double numbering 1 (6).

In 2004 Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty of Humanities was joined by Holly Cross Academy n. a. Jan Kochanowski which is situated in one of the oldest towns of Poland in Kielce. In 2008 the Academy was renamed the Jan Kochanowski University of Humanities and Natural Sciences. In 2011, this higher education institution was renamed the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.

Polish scholars united with the colleagues from Lithuania to support the journal whose interdisciplinary approach and orientation at strengthening the cooperation among scholars of the humanities from different countries had gained acknowledgement in Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Belarus, the USA, Ukraine and Finland. The journal became popular not only locally, but also involved authors from the USA, the Great Britain, Canada, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. Polish language among Lithuanian, Russian and English became the fourth main language of the journal.

Until 2016 the journal was headed by professor of Vilnius University Dr. Habil. Eleonora Lassan. The editorial board was reformed in 2016. Professor of Vilnius University Dr. Gabija Bankauskaitė was elected a new editor-in-chief.

“Sociologija. Mintis ir Veiksmas”/“Sociology. Thought and Action” (editor-in-chief Algimantas Valantiejus), is among the most prestigious publications in the Lithuanian academic press. It is a scientific journal, which is separated for sociology and other disciplines of contiguous social sciences and the humanities. This journal has been published since 1997 at Klaipeda University. The idea of establishing this journal has been raised and implemented by representatives of Department of Sociology in development of Klaipeda University, in year 1996; collectively played up members of Department of Social theory, Departments of Philosophy, and History of Philosophy and Logics of Vilnius University. Open Society Fund supported the journal’s publication initiative. The precise title of the journal – Sociology. Thought and Action – was chosen consulting with prof. V.Kavolis, by whose initiative was formulated long-term objective – academic perspective of this journal, which was oriented towards topics of contemporary social theories, philosophy of social sciences, sociology of culture, and especially stimulating inter-disciplinary relations between the social sciences and the humanities. Since 1998, “Sociology. Thought and Action” has been published together with scholars from Department of Sociology of Vytautas Magnus University and Department of Sociology of Vilnius University. Focus and scope. The journal aims to contribute to the development and dissemination of multidisciplinary knowledge on organizations and markets in emerging economies, to increase dialogue among scholars focused on a specific emerging economy or region and to encourage and give an outlet to high quality scholarship, both local and international, to this subject.

Organizations and Markets in Emerging Economies welcomes analysis of emerging economies from the perspectives of organizational sciences, marketing, economics, finance and related disciplines. The journal appreciates studies that highlight specificities and patterns that occur in emerging economies and develop new empirical and theoretical knowledge on the subject.

The journal uses a broad definition of emerging economies/markets. As such, emerging economies include the transition economies of Central and Eastern Europe, Asian nations (China, India, Vietnam, and others) that are increasing their free-market systems, countries in Central and South America, and finally countries in Africa. Each of these regions faces unique challenges and the journal encourages research that highlights the specifics of the particular region or country and combines that insight with broader lessons for other researchers.

Journal History. Lietuvių kalba ('The Lithuanian Language') was established after receiving a grant from The Lithuanian State Science and Studies Foundation (2006–2007) for the scientific project “Electronic science journal The Lithuanian Language.” Project partners included Vilnius University, Klaipėda University, and the Institute of the Lithuanian Language. The first issue of the journal was released during the second year of the project (in 2007) and contained five articles. The first Editor-in-Chief of the journal was Associate Professor Antanas Smetona (2007 – November 07, 2008), succeeded by Associate Professor Artūras Judžentis (November 07, 2008 – January 04, 2013). The present Editor-in-Chief is Professor Irena Smetonienė, approved by Vilnius University Senate Resolution No SK-2013-7-5.

History. Slavistica Vilnensis is an international periodical scholarly journal of Slavonic linguistics and philology, published by Vilnius University since 1958. Beginning in 1997, the title of the journal has been Slavistica Vilnensis (Kalbotyra (2)). The journal is edited by the staff of the Department of Russian Philology and Centre of Polish Studies at Vilnius University and is published by the Publishing House of Vilnius University. The editorial board consists of specialists of Slavonic studies from Lithuania, Belarus, Canada, Estonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, United Kingdom, the U.S. The journal features articles by Slavic linguists from Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine,  Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Norway, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and the U.S., written in Slavic languages, Lithuanian, English and German.

Focus and scope. The electronic research journal Applied Linguistics aims to publish articles of theoretical and empirical research, précis, reviews of books and articles, and academic essays on issues of applied linguistics. The journal welcomes contributions that focus on sociolinguistics, first and second language acquisition, language testing, psycholinguistics, multilingualism, language policy and planning, intercultural communication, discourse analysis and pragmatics, lexicography, language for special purposes, forensic linguistics, sign languages and other areas of applied linguistics.

Papers submitted for publication are peer-reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers.

History.
The founder of the journal is the Lithuanian Association of Applied Linguistics (LITAKA). The magazine has been published since 2012. Since the very beginning of its existence until the end of 2018, the editor-in-chief of the magazine was Inesa Šeškauskienė. From 2012 to 2015, the secretary of the editorial board was Eglė Gudavičienė, and Justina Urbonaitė took on these responsibilities in 2016. On 1 January 2019, the entire editorial team of the magazine changed. Meilutė Ramonienė became its editor, Jūratė Ruzaitė became the editorial assistant and English-text editor, the secretary of the board is now Kinga Geben, and the Lithuanian text editor is Kristina Jakaitė-Bulbukienė. In 2020 Inga Hilbig joined Kristina as an editor of Lithuanian texts. Since 2020, Vilnius University has become another publisher of the magazine.

Sponsors. Publishing was funded by the Research Council of Lithuania as support for academic associations: project “Development and dissemination of applied linguistics” (Project Financing Agreements: No. S-ACO-17-12, 2017, No S-ACO-18-14, 2018).

From 2016 to 2019 publication was funded by the European Social Fund project Publication and Coordination of Scientific Periodicals (together with Lithuanian Academy of Science, project code Nr. 09.3.3-ESFA-V-711-01-0004).

From 2019 to 2022 publication was funded by Vilnius University.
In 2022-2024 publication is funded by the Research Council of Lithuania (LMTLT) according to The National Lithuanian studies development programme (Agreement No.S-LIP-22-50) and Vilnius University.
