Published since 1993, by the Faculty of History of “St. Cyril and St. Methodius” University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, Epohi (Epochs) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed academic journal. It publishes original research works relating to the history of Bulgaria, the Balkans, Europe, and the world and to all historical epochs from the Antiquity onwards. Epohi mainly aims to contribute to the development of historical knowledge, abiding at the same time by standard ethical rules and criteria, which we consider obligatory for historical scholarship.
With regard to this, the editorial board strictly follows a policy of observing the established general ethical principles and rules for guiding the relations between the parties concerned with the publishing of Epohi: authors, reviewers, the editor-in-chief, the editorial staff, and the publisher.

The journal’s editorial board is comprised of internationally famous Bulgarian and foreign scholars with high and impeccable academic credentials.

All authors sign a declaration of compliance with the journal’s Ethics Statement. All submissions are screened for plagiarism and undergo a double blind peer review.

Diogen (Diogenes) is a peer-reviewed thematic book series for innovative studies in the field of philosophy and psychology. It is issued by “St. Cyril and St. Methodius” Publishing House of the University of Veliko Tarnovo since 1993 and was initially established as a local platform for research publishing. Later, the series associated a number of outstanding national and foreign scholars, thus managing to widen significantly the scope and nationality of its contributors and published works. Today it is one of the most well-known and prestigious academic series for philosophy and psychology in Bulgaria. Each year the series has two issues: one, devoted to philosophical and one to psychological themes.
In the last few of years, Diogen has moved towards international development. It has contributions from neighbouring countries such as Romania, Serbia and Greece, as well as works by contributors from Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia and Albania.
Diogen publishes only original works that have not been previously published. Every issue has a fixed thematic framework, which is chosen by the editorial board on the basis of the topicality of certain contemporary problems and the raised public and scholarly discussions.

The journal publishes peer-reviewed scholarly papers in the field of educational science and teaching practice. It is a multi-profiled one and comprises the contemporary trends of pedagogical knowledge: theory of education and didactics, education management, history of pedagogy, comparative education, special needs education, social education, speech therapy studies, pre-school education, primary school education, school education, andragogy, sport education, art-education, etc. The journal is devoted to implementing a scientific approach to institutional practice within the system of pre-school and school education – pre-schools, primary and secondary schools, centres for individuals’ support and specialized servicing units. It is committed to searching and creating effective technologies for teaching and life-long learning. 

The international editorial board of the journal accepts for publication only original papers not submitted or sent for reviewing to other scholarly editions. It works for building a new generation of scholars and researchers timely capable to discover and constantly develop the creative potential of an individual. The journal comes out twice a year and is intended for an international audience. It is published both in print form and electronically as an open access publication. The language of the journal is English.

VTU Review is dedicated to publishing and disseminating innovative research in the humanities and social sciences. The disciplines covered by the journal are literary, cultural and language studies, history, archaeology, sociology, political science, social psychology and anthropology.

Each issue focuses on a special topic but also includes a Varia section, which contains articles unrelated to it. A book review section keeps readers informed of locally and internationally published books in the humanities and social sciences. Individual issues may include interviews with eminent writers, scholars and social scientists as well as forums on key developments in the disciplines covered by the journal.

VTU Review considers all submitted manuscripts on the condition that

● the manuscript is the author’s/authors’ own original work, and does not duplicate any other previously published work, including previously published work by the same author(s);

● the manuscript has been submitted only to VTU Review; it is not under consideration, or accepted for publication, or in press, or published elsewhere;

● the manuscript contains nothing that is abusive, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent or illegal.

VTU Review does not have any article processing or submission charges for authors.

The periodical Issues in spoken communication is a continuation of Problems of Bulgarian colloquial speech and it has been included in the national reference list. The collection State and Problems of Bulgarian Onomastics contains modern onomastic studies of great importance for the development of research on toponyms, oikonyms, hydronyms, urbanonyms, and anthroponyms. The compilers’ work is aimed at studying the development of the -onyms in synchronic and diachronic terms, as well as the standardization of names (oikonyms, toponyms, and hydronyms) in Bulgaria. Apart from practical application, the study of local and personal names also has cultural significance. The research into micro-toponyms (local names) is of historical significance, as it allows to reveal the ethno-cultural strata of a certain region (settlements, displacements, material and spiritual culture), and to draw important conclusions about the people’s ethnogenesis.

Ethics, Science, Education is a peer-reviewed academic journal of an interdisciplinary nature, connected with the Laboratory of Applied Academic Ethics and the Department of Philosophical Sciences of the Faculty of Philosophy of St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. The thematic scope of the journal addresses issues related to research ethics, academic ethics, values, education, and science. The periodical covers a wide range of topics and accepts for publication original research articles that contribute to scientific development in the field. It promotes the exchange of ideas and knowledge between scholars working in relevant fields, seeking to reflect constructive contributions to problems of practical importance. It is also open to the expression of different points of view, offering a critical analysis of the themes and issues in the indicated fields and of the identification, justification, and discussion of values of universal significance.

 

Ethics, Science, Education comes out twice a year: in June and December. It welcomes papers written in Bulgarian and English. The works submitted for publication are checked for plagiarism and go through a procedure of double-blind peer review, observing all the rules laid down in publication ethics.

 

The journal is open access.

Authors are not required to pay any publication fees.

The 𝑇𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑜 𝐿𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑆𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑙 collections contain reports from the recurrent international symposium “Tarnovo Literary School”, which is the oldest and most respected forum on Old Bulgarian studies in Bulgaria and worldwide. It was held for the first time in 1971 under the auspices of UNESCO, and the first collection of articles came out in 1976. The𝑇𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑜 𝐿𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑆𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑙 collections are among the most cited editions in the fields of Old Bulgarian studies and research into medieval Bulgarian spiritual and material culture from its pre-Tarnovo and Tarnovo periods, as well as on the cultural and literary ties between Byzantium, Bulgaria, and the Eastern Orthodox Slavic world. The main purpose of 𝑇𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑜 𝐿𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑆𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑙 is to publish scholarly articles by Bulgarian and foreign researchers in the field of interdisciplinary medieval studies in order to explore the cultural and historical heritage of the Second Bulgarian Empire.
