Short Description

The Balkans – Languages, History, Cultures is an academic periodical maintained by the Faculty of Modern Languages and the Faculty of History of St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. It welcomes original articles in various languages in the following fields:

– Balkan Linguistic Space and Issues of the Balkan Sprachbund;

– Balkan Literatures in the Dynamics of Time;

– Religion and Everyday Life in the Balkans;

– Geography of the Balkan Education Area;

– Balkan Cultural Tourism.

 

The primary goals of The Balkans – Languages, History, Cultures are to publish academic research conducted by Bulgarian and foreign scholars, to maintain the thematic diversity and interdisciplinarity of Balkan studies, and to contribute to the development of scientific knowledge about the history, languages, and cultures in the Balkan Peninsula.
