Short Description
"Lectura" is an official publication of the "Octavian Goga" County Library in Cluj, a specialized periodical that reflects the evolution of Romanian librarianship and local cultural life across three distinct series since its founding in 1990. The first series (1990–1996) offered a broad cultural and literary opening, featuring poems, essays, and studies by prominent Cluj writers before shifting toward a more specialized bibliographic focus. The second series (2004–2008, 2021) transitioned into a dedicated library magazine that documented institutional projects, new services, and professional trends.
Reimagined in 2022, the third and current series marks a significant transformation by adopting an exclusively online, annual publication format with an elevated scientific focus. The contemporary journal is structured around three core thematic areas: librarianship and information science, the history of books and reading, and local history. By combining a rich historical legacy with a rigorous academic profile, the magazine continues to serve as an essential academic and professional resource for librarians, researchers, and cultural historians alike.
