Summary/Abstract: Saint Anthim the Iberian, a great theologian, a profound thinker, and a seeker of truth who aspired to the path of perfection. For him, the ultimate ideal is Christ and service to Him. Through the manifestation of spiritual resilience, stoicism, intellectual strength, and personal perfection, he offers a remarkable example of self- sacrifice in pursuit of embodying true ideals. With humility, Anthim's sermons offer a kind of moral admonition. Among them the central place is occupied by the sermon “That is what I said when I became Metropolitan”. It reveals the entire essence of the phenomenological approach to the problem of man.
