Summary/Abstract: The article provides an overview and comparative analysis of Ukrainian translations of M. Eminescu's poem “The Star” (“La steaua”) with regard to the peculiarities of creating an artistic image. It has been established that one of Eminescu's most vivid romantic poems has been translated into almost 90 languages, and in Ukrainian translation studies it has attracted the attention of talented translators from the 20th century to the present day. Based on the analysis of eight translations of this poem, the features of the reception of the ideological content of the work through the transmission of the title, the creation of the image of the star, the image of the lyrical hero, and the image of the chronotope are presented.
