Summary/Abstract: This study explores the triangular interaction between students, university professors, and artificial intelligence (AI) in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning environment, focusing on Master’s students training as future translators. The research examines how these students engage with online Breaking news articles, using AI-assisted translation tools alongside teacher guidance. Data were collected through a combination of student translations, AI outputs, teacher feedback, and reflective questionnaires. The analysis investigates patterns in student–AI interaction, teacher mediation, and the collaborative dynamics of this triangular model. Findings indicate that AI serves both as a facilitator of language accuracy and a prompt for critical reflection, while teachers play a pivotal role in guiding students’ autonomous decision-making and refining translation strategies. This study explores how MA translation students interact with AI tools in the context of breaking news translation, how teachers mediate these processes, and how the three agents–human learners, human instructors, and AI technologies–co-construct a new learning ecology. The findings contribute to emerging discussions on AI literacy, translation pedagogy, and the evolving role of educators in AI-rich environments.
