Summary/Abstract: Dream and dreaming belong to the components of works written by Fyodor Mikhailowich Dostoyevsky (1821-1881) which have been remained a long time underrated. In the present paper the author deals with a motif of a dream that appears, except for another motifs, for instance the motif of an accidental family, four elements, suicide or a tortured horse, in Dostoyevsky’s Diary of a Writer. The author of the study tries to answer a question how the motif of a dream in Dostoyevsky’s works evolves, characterizes its place in the Diary of a Writer and shows on other relations in which are dreams from the Diary of a Writer with Dostoyevsky’s works published before, during and after his Diary of a Writer.
